Episode 1
I sat calmly in the passenger seat of my dad's car as we drove towards our new home in Forks. I couldn't help but notice the gentle breeze that brushed against my skin. My dad had suggested this move a few weeks ago, and I was reticent at first. Leaving my old life behind wasn't an easy decision, but I knew we had to make a fresh start. I gazed out at the endless green trees passing by my window, feeling a sense of perturbation settle in my chest. I had never lived in a small town like this before, and the thought of being the new girl at school made me nervous. As we drove through the winding roads, my dad began to talk about our new home. He had purchased an old cabin in the woods, where we could finally have a fresh start. I chose to live with my dad after my mother remarried. "I know it's going to be a big change for us, but I'm excited about this new beginning, "my dad said, glancing over at me with a hopeful smile. "And who knows, maybe you'll even make some new friends. I smiled, though I doubted it would be that easy. I knew my dad still loves my mom and is only trying to move on for my sake. I have always been a bit of a loner, I would rather spend my time reading or exploring the nearby woods. I have a feeling Forks wouldn't offer me much in the way of excitement. As we yanked into the driveway of our new home, my heart plunged a bit. The cabin was small and worn down, with peeling paint and an overgrown garden. I could not imagine it ever feeling like home. It was far from what I anticipated and a lot different from my old house. As I entered the house, I was hit by the smell of fresh paint. The walls were a pale shade of blue, and the furniture was simple. The warm glow of the fireplace filled the room. We had moved with only our essentials, but I knew we would make it work. I walked into my room, and my dad followed close behind me, holding a box. I loved the view from my room, our house was surrounded by tall trees and bushes, it was a bit far from the town and it made me love it more. "So, honey, what do you think?" He asked me, placing the box on my bed. "It's not bad," I muttered, trying to hide the smile that was forming on my face. "It's just different." My dad sighed, "I know, sweetheart. It's a lot to get used to, but we'll be okay." I gave him a small smile, "I know, Dad. Let's startunpacking?" For hours, we unpacked boxes and tried to give our new home some familiarity. I never knew moving to a new home was this stressful. As the sun started to set, my dad suggested we take a break and grab a bite to eat. We ended up at a small diner in the center of town named "Forks Cafe." As we walked in, the sound of chatter and dishes clanging filled the air. We took a seat at a booth near the window, and a friendly waitress came over to take our orders. I decided on fries and a sandwich while my dad went for a burger and classic grilled cheese. As we waited for our food, I couldn't help but eavesdrop on some of the conversations around me. Some people were talking about school, others about the unusual deaths in town, but everyone seemed to know each other. When our food arrived, I dug in, I was famished I have not eaten a good meal in like two days and my dad started to ask me about our new house and what I thought of the town. I told him I wasn't sure yet, but that I wanted to explore more. He seemed happy with that answer, and we continued eating in silence. As we were leaving the diner, I bumped into a girl around my age. "I'm sorry," I muttered, trying to avoid eye contact. "It's okay," she said with a smile. "I'm Emilia. You must be new in town." I nodded, "Yeah, just moved in today. I'm Lucian." "Nice to meet you, Lucian," Emilia said before turning to my dad. "And you're her dad, right?" My dad nodded, "That's me. I'm Richard." Emilia started to chat with my dad, and I couldn't help but notice how comfortable they seemed with each other. As we walked back to the car, my dad asked me if I wanted to invite Emilia over for dinner that night. At first, I was hesitant, but I decided to give it a try I know what he is trying to do. As we walked back into our house, I felt a sense of excitement mixed with anxiety. I wasn't sure how this dinner would play out, but I was willing to take the chance. We started to prepare for dinner. Cooking has never been my hobby but I have to give my papa a helping hand. As I was about to set the table, the doorbell rang and I immediately knew who it was. "sweetheart go check who is at the door" my dad yelled from the kitchen. Hello dear, Emilia greeted me as she smiled at me with a peck on the cheek, she looked more beautiful than earlier. It was very thoughtful of her to come with some cheese. My dad greeted her and showed her to the living room. We chatted as we ate, I could not help but feel uneasy during dinner, something was odd about her, she was too nice and pleasant. Though she looked the same age as me she behaves like she was a lot older, this did not bother me much. She helped me clear the table after dinner, as much as I would not like to admit it, I think I liked her already yeah, she is not that bad. I walked her to the door and we said our goodbyes, "it has been a wonderful dinner thank you" "see I told you, you will make new friends, "my dad said as he walked into the kitchen looking pleased. I gave him a not-so-sure look, "We just met Dad, we are not yet friends" She is very nice and jovial but something is not right about her.
