The sunlight was all together too bright. Why were the blinds open? She didn't have blinds... she had curtains, curtains were far superior to blinds... So then, she wasn't at home, where was she? Shit... she remembered last hight in a rush. Dancing with Mr. Gorgeous, Brandon was pissed off... Elsie was angry at Brandon, which made her angry at Alina. Alina paid them no mind at all. Around 3am she'd stumbled off with Alexander and... "oh did I do that? Did I do it?" she thought. The sight of the man next to her confirmed what she already knew. She blushed at the memory. His name may be Alexander, but in her head he'd always be Mr. Gorgeous. She shifted onto her side and stared at him. He was on his back, one hand on his chest and the other stretched above his head. His chest had just enough hair to be sexy. Every inch of him was toned, like a man who's used to hard work, not just lifting weights. His hands were rough, but still so inviting. He let out a grunt and Alina giggled. "Do you have anything for breakfast around here?" she asked.
"Ssshhhh, my head..." he grunted.
"Hangover's a b***h," she said softly, rolling onto her back.
"And we're at my sister's place," he smiled without opening his eyes.
"Oh gosh, I hope she didn't hear everything... ugh.. what a good first impression. Or did I know her already? s**t," she thought to herself.
Suddenly Alexander's mouth covered hers, kissing her deeply. "You're cute when you're deep in thought," he said when he broke the kiss.
"Shush," she laughed.
A knock sounded on the door and Alexander groaned. "Are you going to bring out your girlfriend or should I come in?" a female voice called.
"Get out of here Lilly!" he called back. The door knob jiggled and Alina shrieked, trying to cover herself with the tangled sheets. "We'll come out! Go away!" he yelled again. He sighed and put his hands over his face. "My sister is the most annoying, amazing person you'll ever meet."
They dressed, Alina in last night's clothes, and went down to the kitchen. A very pregnant, petite redhead was cooking up eggs. She was humming to herself and rubbing her belly with her free hand. Alexander cleared his throat and the woman turned and her face lit up. "Alexander! You woke from the dead! I'd love to meet the woman you brought home at 3am," she said and winked.
Alina's face went completely red. "I am so sorry," she said.
"Oh no, don't worry about it. I'm just glad my little brother has found someone, anyone, to spend some time with," she laughed.
"What does that mean?" Alina asked.
Alexander groaned, "nothing, it means nothing."
"It means he's never had a girlfriend, or a one night stand, a penpal... anything," his sister answered. "I'm Lilly by the way."
"Nice to meet you, I'm Alina. Although the circumstances are quite... something."
"Is what it is, sit down, both of you," she instructed.
They ate breakfast together, laughing and talking like they'd known each other for ages.
A man darkened the doorway, looking like he'd just woke up. "Darling! Come, eat!" Lilly said.
Alina's mouth dropped open. Lilly's husband was the pack Gamma. In charge of all warrior's, security and protection of the pack. How she didn't know he was married she had no clue. His mouth curved into a smile as he noticed Alina.
"You're married to the... the Gamma?" Alina choked out.
"Yes, he visited our pack a few years ago and almost ripped my door off trying to get to me when he noticed my scent," Lilly smiled at her husband. "I am just an Omega, but that doesn't matter when the mate bond is calling."
"So you've managed to break through my brother in law's cold exterior eh?" he asked.
"She did no such thing," Alexandar sighed. "I had a lot to drink, she's beautiful and so we danced... and ended up here. Not a big deal okay?"
"Elsie is going to be screaming about this for days," the Gamma said with a frown. "Her voice is so grating."
"Nathan..." Lilly warned.
"Don't worry, I won't tell on him," Alina said.
"Who's Elsie?" Alexandar asked, eyeing all of them.
"She's the future Luna. My ex mate's lover," Alina answered, nervous he wouldn't take it well.
"She's been less than nice to Alina lately. Jealous and all that," Nathan explained.
"How did you know that?" Alina asked.
"I'm in charge of keeping an eye on things. Everything. I know a lot about a lot of people."
"She's mad at you because you were mated to her boyfriend? You can't control that... and it's why many choose not to date before 18 when they can sense their mate," Alexandar said.
"That about sums it up. I wasn't too thrilled about being mated to him anyway."
They talked for a bit longer before Alina excused herself to begin the walk of shame. Alexandar pried her phone number out of her and kissed her goodbye. She refused his many offers to walk with her.
