CHAPTER TEN

ALLY POV

I was sitting in my dad's office while Chad and dad discussed suitable moving dates to go to his pack and well my farewell dinner with the Pack.

They were deep in conversation when the computer made sounds to advise that emails on chats were new, I made my way around to review and action as I have many times before.

I clicked on the inbox icon and waited for the program to open, then I made my way through the list of new emails. One came to my attention from the Lycan Kingdom.

I always got excited to see new correspondence from the Kingdom. Scrolling down I clicked to open it and read the news.

*The she-wolf that has been spending the last few days in my hospital under my care may have a mate. If this is you or you know who it is. Please get in touch IMMEDIATELY!*

“Daddy, did you hear about the she-wolf that is not known, and staying at the Lycan Kingdom in the Palace?” he looked to me, pausing his discussion's with Chad who incidentally was getting used to not only my involvement but also my interruption's, daddy did warn him.

“Yes baby, why do you ask, do you know someone who is missing?” daddy asked.

I looked at him before I could say anything he continued, “before you say anything or ask any more questions, Willow is fine, I called Lance and double checked she was there with him.” I smiled at him thankfully “thank you daddy, I was going to ask.”

Daddy and Chad continued their conversation again and I went back to scrolling through emails before I found something online I wanted to look at, I don’t know when I might get to look through the New Release Romance Book List again.

They were taking forever with their conversations, so I decided to go find my mamma. She was in her reading room, which until just the last couple of weeks I also used to spend quite a bit of time in here.

“Hey Mamma, what are you reading? Anything new?” Flopping into the big comfy chair opposite my mamma, I am always giddy with excitement. I love physical books, which obviously have their smells, feel and all round nostalgia to them, for convenience though, while I was at school mamma had given me an eBook reader that would give me all the books she purchased straight to my eBook reader too.

“Hello honey, no just reading an old favourite,” as she placed the book down. “So were you here when daddy rang Lance to make sure that Willow was with him?” I looked at her not only hopeful but somewhat hesitant for her answer.

“Yes baby, I was and it seemed she was with Lance's mother going through her soon to duties, why do you ask? Surely your father would have told you that if you asked.” She was looking at me confused.

“I saw a notice from the Lycan Kingdom about a she-wolf that has been stay it the Palace, I haven’t even heard from Willow mamma, not even a text, nothing, sorry mamma I just wanted to check, that’s all." I said, the tears taking up residence in my eyes again.

Mamma moved closer wrapping her arm around me, pulling me closer, reassuring me that she was sure Willow was fine, and would be very busy learning new Luna duties. I nodded I know her words make sense, but I also know that Willow would never, and I mean never ghost me.

Well at least I don't think she would.

LANCE POV

Another freeking notification from the Lycan Kingdom, well that frustrates me, even more than that, Ally’s father called to check up on the abomination of my mate.

I was quick to think on my feet and assured him, that she was with me and currently learning the endless list of duties she will need to learn, considering she has no knowledge to speak of!

I made sure to express my frustration, to both the lack of knowledge but also to him questioning me.

It wasn’t until he had mentioned that Ally and Willow were close and it's unusual for Willow to not at least text back, even if it was to say talk later. Then the old bastard continued and asked if I could ensure to have her text Ally tonight.

Now I am even more frustrated, this time at max and his bimbo for causing this. Grabbing my phone I quickly sent Max a text.

:: Max! Where the hell is Willow's phone? If you don't have it or don’t know I would suggest you ask that mate of yours and get it to me IMMEDIATELY! ::

:: No Worries, I'm on it! ::

His response said he obviously didn't know, but he would find it. I was thankful when the whole task only took him a few hours to find himself in front of me.

“Is everything okay Lance?” Max looked worried as he asked. I glared up adding a curt “NO!” I took a breath then I started again. “Seems I didn't give a thought to how close Willow is with her friend Ally, that said her father rang me this morning.

I watched the colour drain from his face.

“Where was the phone Max?” I asked, all traces of humour now totally gone from my voice.

“Well, I thought I saw it on our table this morning, but when I went back I found there was no phone there. It wasn't until you messaged me that I asked about it, I was informed it was on our bedside table.” The poor guy is probably trying to work out the quickest way to remove her from his life.

“Once I knew where it was I returned to the house and got it, it was flat, so I plugged it in and waited until it charged fully, then I bought it to you here.” He finished, waiting for me to say something, anything.

I looked at him, nodded and then picked up the phone he had placed on the desk when he walked into my office.

Well now I need to send a message to Ally that will sound like their normal conversations, I guess I have to do some reading of their texts.

Dismissing Max with instructions, “Okay, you can go and check out the rosters for the patrols and trainings for the next week, I need to sort out the rest of this bloody mess that bimbo you are with caused!” I watched his face as he cringed, when I mentioned his mate.

I don’t like hurting his feelings, but she could have just about lost me my Alpha Title, and most definitely would be the end of Max taking up the role of Beta. She didn’t think and that makes me concerned that she may try the same type of trick to even get back at me.

I will keep my distance from her, if i see her I might just take it upon myself to punish her, without Max's knowledge. I know that he would take any punishment for her, but I won't have any of that!
