Reborn
1793 A couple lived in a small cabin with their daughter. They secretly despised their daughter. They were very poor and thought getting rid of her would solve their problems. Early in the morning, the mother woke her daughter up, and they went into the forest, as usual. However, they weren't heading the usual way. "Mama, where are we going?" She asked, but the mother ignored her. She felt a pit of anxiety in her stomach. They went deeper into the forest, it got darker, colder. The girl was getting scared by the second. They stopped at a stone wall covered in vines. The wall was very tall, it would be impossible to get through or around it. "Why are we here?" The girl asked. Her mother ignored her, pulling out a stone that would give them a way to get through. "I need you to go through this hole and find the apple tree," Her mother said. Wanting to help, the girl did. Once she was half way in there, her mother pushed her and quickly put the stone back. The girl fell down, getting scratched by thorns and caught by vines. They snapped, causing her to tumble down, hitting rocks, branches, and whatever else could injure her. On the ground, there lay a girl, a human. She was b****y bruised and struggling to breathe. Moments ago, her own mother had pushed her over a wall. behind that wall was vampire territory. She tumbled down, hitting many rocks, trees, and branches, giving her several cuts and bruises. She stopped falling but couldn't move. Everything hurt; she couldn't move. The girl looked up into the cloudy sky, struggling to breathe. "Is this the end?" She thought, knowing she wouldn't survive. Over in the distance stood a tall black castle. Inside, a tall, pale man was looking out the window into the forest. This man was King Ivan Legendere, or the vampire king. He ruled over the vampires, mainly those living in this tiny empire. Something was urging him to go into the forest. "Sebastian!" He called out. "Yes, you're majesty." A pale butler with brown hair and magenta pink eyes appeared next to him in a cloud of smoke. "I'm heading out. I'll be back soon," The king said, opening a window. He turned himself into a bat and flew out into the forest. The butler watched, a bit concerned. King Ivan is known to do and take whatever he wants, whenever he wants, so him flying out the window isn't a surprise. "It would be nice if you at least told me where you were going," Sebastian sighed, tired of the king's impulsive antics. Ivan flew into the forest and turned off his bat form. He could smell something... someone, a human. The king followed this scent with suspicion. Humans are f*******n from the vampiric Empire, it should be impossible to even get here. Upon finding the scent, Ivan saw a girl, bruised up and dirtied. He came closer, inspecting the girl. The sight was pitiful, it was obvious that someone tried to hurt her. The king kneeled down, taking hold of the girl. She looked into the king's charcoal gray eyes, thinking he would finally put her misery to an end. She knew he had to be a vampire due to his pasty white skin. "How pitiful," He commented, looking down at her. "You're so young and have a lot to live for. It breaks my heart knowing that someone was cruel enough to hurt a child," Ivan said. The girl was unresponsive but still alive. Ivan could hear her slow heartbeat and pained breathing. "I know what you want." He looked at her. His gray eyes pierced into her dull, pain-filled ones. "Death," Ivan correctly guessed. She didn’t respond, just stared at him with dull eyes filled with pain. "You're tired of being in pain; you yearn for the sweet release of death, don't you?" The girl was surprised that the vampire knew exactly what she wanted, yet she was too weak to react. "Such a shame," He sighed. "Perhaps I could give you a second chance." Ivan's eyes turned blood red. He held the girl closer, moving her hair aside to reveal her neck. He softly grazed his fingers against it, l*****g his lips in excitement. The vampire lowered his head to her neck, l*****g the spot he wanted to bite. Ivan opened his mouth, revealing his long sharp fangs, and bit into her neck. "Ah," The girl squeaked in pain. The sensation of the vampire drinking her blood stung, and her heart was pounding out of her chest. It seemed like hours for Ivan to pull his fangs out. He licked the blood off the wound he had created, then looked back down at the girl. He bit into his wrist, sucking his own blood and holding it in his mouth. Ivan pulled the girl closer, then put his lips on hers so she could drink his blood. She swallowed it, some of the blood dripping down her cheek. Once Ivan pulled back, the girl took a deep breath. She could breathe, and it didn't hurt. The vampire smiled, picking up the girl. "Get some sleep," He ordered. She closed her eyes and fell asleep fast. The girl desperately wanted to sleep, but her eyes wouldn't close, no matter what. Sebastian was tidying up the study when King Ivan flew back in, holding the battered, beaten girl. "Your Majesty... oh..." Sebastian saw the brunette girl, covered in rags, dirt, and wounds. "Is that a human?" the butler asked. "Da... for now," Ivan replied, walking past Sebastion. "Get a spare room ready while I clean her up," He ordered. Sebastian was a bit surprised. "You're not letting the maids do that?" The butler blurted out. Ivan isn't the type to do something like bathe a random human girl when a maid can do that instead. "Net, I do not trust them not to hurt her," He explained. The girl was still human; while she was transforming, she still possessed a human scent. Ivan knew if the others found out, they would try to hurt or even kill the girl. "Very well then," Sebastian nodded, making his way to prepare a room for the girl. Ivan put the girl on his bed and prepared a bath for her. he went ahead and ripped off the rags she was wearing, not like she'll need them ever again. Ivan slightly winced, seeing how badly the girl was injured and how thin she was. He gently put her in the warm water, washing away all the dirt. "What is this feeling?" He asked himself, he felt something unfamiliar while tending to the human girl. Is it his caregiver's side? Paternal instinct? "You're majesty, I've finished preparing the room!" Sebastian exclaimed, handing the vampire king a towel to wrap around the girl. Ivan followed Sebastian to the girl's bedchamber. They walked in, like any other room in the castle. it was huge, decorated in gothic style furniture, giving off that vampire aesthetic. He laid her on that bed, and Sebastian picked up some bandages. "Perhaps we should cover up some of the more serious wounds until she fully transforms into a vampire," He suggested. Ivan grabbed the bandages and began wrapping them around the wounds on her back; Sebastian tended to the smaller ones all over her arms and legs. Once they finished, the butler picked out a regency white nightgown and handed it to Ivan, who put it on the human girl, then pulled the blankets over her tiny body. "Sebastian, go ahead and prepare the elixir so it'll be ready by the time she wakes up," He ordered. The butler nodded and left the room. Ivan sat on the bed, watching over the sleeping girl.
