Louise I lie awake all night, not closing my eyes even once. Every time my eyelids start to drift shut, Charlie’s words come floating back. Is what he said really true? I don’t think Elias is a bad person at all. But who can ever be totally sure? I’ve only known him a short while. Maybe he gets a teensy bit possessive when he’s really fond of someone. Still, if he actually killed his ex-girlfriend, he’d be in prison right now. So Charlie must be hiding part of the story. I sit up in bed, hugging my knees.
