MONIQUE’S POV
I stood impatiently with Maugrim as we waited by the sealed vampire tombs; the vampires were banished and sealed off for over a century by the witches.
We’re here to strike a bargain with Nihasa and hopefully we get on her good side, not that I’m ever on anyone’s good side before but we need this for our plan to work.
“Are you sure Nihasa is going to show?” I whispered to Maugrim, “wait” he whispered back and I sighed.
Soon I noticed a figure passing by in the woods, “she’s here” Maugrim smiled.
Nihasa came out from behind the trees and started walking towards us, with her ornaments making a rhythmical sound with each step she took. And soon enough we were standing face to face with her. Looking straight into blue colored eyes.
“you called” she broke the silence between us, “ye…..” Maugrim held my arm
“I’ll do the talking” he whispered in my ears, “Ancient one, Nihasa” Maugrim said and she stared at him
“Half breed” she replied with a smirk, “I won’t beat around the bush, we’re here to strike a bargain” he started and she paced around
“Or you’re here to counter your benefactor” she turned to me with a grin on her face,
“Morgan didn’t summon you to save us, she summoned you for her to use us. She is no benefactor” I fired
“but you know child, your life is in her hands. She can turn it on….” she paused as she traced the old stones of the tomb, “and she can turn it off” she finished
“No Nihasa, my life is in your hands. I know you’re only helping her because of what she promised you. But we are here to offer better” I offered
“A better offer, Than not being drawn back to eternity in the underworld? I’m listening” she stopped pacing as she seemed to be interested.
I took a quick look at Maugrim and he had this assuring look, meaning I can tell her our offer.
“If you side with us, we’ll give you a man” I said and she chuckled softly, “and why would I need a man?” she asked
“We know your background story Nihasa, of how you were betrayed by a man you loved. All you wanted was affection but you got denial instead, the only other man worthy of you has his soul trapped in an amulet” Maugrim smirked as he revealed her past to her
“if you help us, we will give you a man for your husband’s spirit to take over”
She walked slowly towards him and laughed right in his face, “for an half breed, you know your history. You claim to be a wise man and read my past to me, is your child even yours? . I wondered how the daughter of a half vampire and half demon becomes a bird?” she teased and Maugrim clenched his fists
She’s trying to get to him, “she took part of her mother’s genetics!”Maugrim fired
“That’s what they always say” she shrugged, “enough with the mind teasing witch, will you help us or not?” Maugrim asked as he moved towards her
“I will never pick a man over eternity” she smiled and vanished
“That went well” I said sarcastically, “looks like the patient dog has to find something else to eat”
“We’re on our own now”

NAKIA’S POV
My wound is healing even though it’s a gradual process and it’s supposed to be faster than this but I’m grateful that I wasn’t hit anywhere else that could have actually caused a real damage.
Marissa said I’m holding back a lot and she’s not wrong, I’m still finding it hard to adapt without thinking that my whole world has been turned upside down due to infiltration of witches and demons or ancients.
I keep saying I’ll get better with time but honestly I need to get better right now cause there’s not much time anymore, I’m running out of time so I need to fix whatever is wrong with me and get my s**t together.
Like immediately but how the f***s do I do that? I just wish I could talk to my dad one last time and just ask him for advice; I want to get familiar with this voice in my head. I don’t want to hide anymore. I want to embrace my powers and see the wonders I can do with it.
Because there’s honestly a lot on my to do list and moping around like a sucker won’t tick them off.
I heard my door open and I walked out of my room and stopped half way by the passage when I saw Meredith. She rushed to pull me into a hug but I swerved her and quickly smiled as I walked towards the living room, leaving her in the passage.
“you didn’t tell me you were coming” I smiled nervously as I sat by the arm of my couch and watched her walk towards me with the expression on her face like she thinks something is going on.
“do I need an invite to come see my bestie now?” she said jokingly, “I heard Charles attacked you and I wanted to be sure you’re okay”
“oh that happened like that three days ago but I’m fine thanks for….checking” I got up and walked into the kitchen
“How did it happen?” I heard her ask, “He stabbed me?” I arched a brow as I walked out of the kitchen with a bag of chips.
“I know like how did he get in?” she asked further, “I don’t know, he just got in and who cares. the deed has been done anyways. Won’t reverse the damage he did to my shoulder” I shrugged
“hmn” she muttered, “hmnhmn” I munched on the bag of chips.
“Anyways what do you plan on doing about everything going on? Like with your brother, Damon on your neck and just everything” she shrugged
“Damon is not an issue, we’re fine and I’m working on the rest” I lied and her countenance changed, “we are? When did you guys get back, how’d you remember him. You didn’t tell me, we’re keeping secrets now?” she teased as she chuckled nervously
I laughed softly, “Oh please Meredith enough with the bullshit, the pretence is exhausting. You think I don’t know you’ve been seeing Damon?” I arched a brow and swallowed
“Na…” I cut her off, “shhh, poisoning his mind. Trying to get him to like you” I added and she sprung up quickly
“Look I know I was wrong but you weren’t looking in his direction and I’ve liked Damon since forever” she admitted
“And I thought we were best friends, lying to me. Twice now! Going after my man and trying to turn his back against me. Do you have an explanation? Cos I like to hear it” I got up and placed a hand on my hip.
“So now he’s your man? I thought you didn’t want him” she fired, “I lost my memory, I’m not supposed to trust easily and you my so called friend that is supposed to help me, is being a Judas.” I spat
“I saw an opportunity so why not take it, if you can’t trust easily then why believe you were betrothed to him?”
“oh please you think I wasn’t going to verify that lie? But then It’s actually true. That’s one thing you didn’t lie about, if you’re going to be a two faced b***h and hide the truth not everyone will” I smirked
She remained silent, “fine, I’d…..” I cut her off
“Don’t make any promise there, just get out of my house” I stepped aside as I showed her the door.
“We can solve this like mature adults” she said, “are you mature? Cos if you are you’d tell me the truth and then maybe we could reason together. not that there’s actually something to reason about. Get out!” I yelled
She sighed before walking out and I slammed the door behind her.
Bitch!
