27. Adam

Candy Said, Bria would be home soon. HOME! I about freaked out, but the more I thought about it the more I want my place to be her home. It’s too early to be thinking about moving in together. Right? I mean, we haven't even gone on a proper date yet.

I've been lying around mostly watching TV, but I decided to get out for a while. to go visit my parents.

My parents are sitting in the kitchen at the table when I get there. I let myself in, and my niece Alley comes running up screaming UNK! Giving me a big hug and telling me she “misses me.” I haven't had my apartment very long. The reason I got my own place is because, my sister and niece moved in with my parents. The house was too crowded so, I gave my niece and sister my room, and moved out. I pick up my niece. She is only two and is the sweetest kid I know. She is talking my ear off about only things she can understand, but I always talk back like I know what she's saying.

When I walk into the kitchen my parents look up happy to see me. Mom stands and gives me a hug. Dad starts talking about his day at work. Mom asks if I’ve “eaten dinner” asking me to “stay for dinner.”

My sister April comes over taking Alley out of my arms. To put her in a highchair. We all sit down around the table eating. When my sister asks me what I have been up to. I decided to tell them “I met someone.” When I say that, they all stop eating looking up. I tell them a little bit about Bria. Leaving out the abuse because it's personal and I don't think she wants many people knowing.

My mom says, “I told you, when you meet the one you will know,” and “you need to bring her over for everyone to meet her.” I laugh promising to bring her over soon. Not even bothing to reply to my mom telling me I have meet the one. I’m not even fully dating Bria yet. So it is to soon to be thinking about all that. After dinner, we visit for a little while. I get a text from Bria.

(Bria texting)

Bria- “I'm on my way to the apartment.”

Adam- “ok baby, see you soon, I'm leaving my parents now.”

Bria- “oh, I can just wait if you are visiting with your parents. Take your time.”

Adam- “there is a spare key under the welcome mat in front of my door. Keep that key with you at all times. That's your key now. Go in and make yourself at home. I will be there soon.”

I talk to my parents a little more, then tell them I need to get home. I tell them Bria is waiting on me there. They quickly get me out the door with leftovers for Bria and me. My mom waves me off. Making me promise to bring Bria over. I tell them all goodbye pulling out.
