Rejecting Indigo
*Prologue*
I can’t believe it! The time has finally come for me to give birth. My mate and I have been waiting for this day for ages. Ok ages is a bit extreme since the pregnancy only last for 4 months. Being werewolves, our pregnancy term is a lot shorter than humans. I can not imagine being pregnant for 9 months, especially with my mate. 4 months of overbearing, overprotecting, over cautiousness, over-the-top doings is too much for me to handle. I’m just ready for this to be OVER.
Sorry for my rant, let me introduce myself. My name is Violet, I am 20 years old and I met my mate, Vance Mason, at our mating ball. Our story is very interesting to say the least, but this is not about me. This is the story of my daughter, Indigo. Oh, boy, it is a story to tell…..
”Push! Push! Push!” the doctor yells as I bare down to give birth. “You did this to me! You will never touch me again!” I yell at my mate while he is holding my hand. “Don’t worry, Van, they all say that to their mates during this time,” the doctor ensures Vance. “I know, I know. My dad told me this would happen. You are doing good honey, you are almost finished.” “I see the head Violet. On the next contraction, give one big push and this will be over.” At least I think that is what the doctor said I can’t concentrate on nothing but this pain that feels like my ass and p***y is about to hit the floor. “AHHHHHHHHH!” The instant relief is amazing. I can feel myself healing right now. “The baby is here, Violet and Vance. Congratulations, you have a beautiful and healthy baby girl.”
The doctor hands me my daughter, as soon as she places her in my arms, my daughter open her eyes. My mate and I gasps as we see the color of her eyes. They are similar to mine, but a bit darker. My eyes are a light shade of purple with a hint of green. My daughter’s eyes are a darker purple with a hint of blue. I will call her Indigo. Indigo Johanna Mason. “I love that name, it suits her.” Vance coos at his daughter. I told my mate that this would be a possibility. I just hope Indigo will not have the same life experiences as I did growing up. I can only hope… Doctor Shane left us to bond with the baby until our family arrives. Vance mind-linked everyone to let them know that Indigo is here. My family will be here tomorrow since they are in another pack across town, Vance's family will be here in an hour. As we coo and love on our baby, a bright light emerged in our room.
”What the….” “Don’t finish that sentence Vance” the woman warns Vance as she appears in the room. This woman is beautiful beyond measure. She is tall about 5’10, with light brown skin and long flowing black hair. Think of Pocahontas times 10. She has on what appears to be a white sundress and her eyes are white, like the moon. I thought my eyes were strange being a black woman, but then again, nothing is impossible in this world we live in. “Who…who are you? You remind me of the Moon Goddess,” I say to the woman who appeared before me. “I am, my dear. I am Selene. I am here to give you a message and instructions. Indigo is very special and I gave her a special wolf. Because of this, many people will envy her, covet her, and want her for their own selfish gains. I am here to tell you to love, protect, and teach your daughter to be strong, kind, and loving. She will be the balance this world needs. I cannot say anything else on this matter. However, it would be good to start her training no later than age 7. She will need it, you will understand more when the time comes. Vance, I am leaving you to teach her how to fight and defend herself. Think outside of the box on this matter. Violet, it is your duty to show love and kindness. Teach her to be honest and humble.”
”What kind of special wolf did you give my daughter, will she be like my wolf?” I asked the Moon Goddess this because my wolf is a character of its own, being that I am half Fae. “Indigo’s wolf will be…you will see in due time. That is all that I can say at this time. Remember my words, I am trusting you both as I know you will succeed. You deserve this.” Then she disappears. I look at Vance and he is shell shocked. He has a look of awe in his face. “Vance. Vance. Vance!!! Oh Goddess, you broke him.” I gave an exasperated sigh. Vance shook his head vigorously and blinked like he saw a ghost. “Did the freaking Moon Goddess just come to us and give us instructions? I need a drink.” I forget that at times, the Moon Goddess comes to talk to me but it is usually in my dreams. I don’t share my dreams, because they are just dreams. However, I act accordingly to the dreams I do have. “Yes, honey, that was the Moon Goddess. We will have our work cut out for us.”
