Chapter 7

*Alpha Jai’s POV*

I hope today is a non eventful day. I spent most of my day yesterday renewing and updating alliances. Blue Diamond is a medium sized pack. We have 1000 pack members, we are still growing, our fighting and defenses get us by. We are good but we can be better. I really do hope that Indigo is mated to someone within the pack. She will be able to take our warriors to a new level of defense. If she is mated within our pack, I hope she will be mated to one of the King’s sons, the twins or the triplets. That way, we will have alliances with the royal palace. Jenni and I truly do believe she is Kayden’s mate. I hope Titan helps him get his head out of his ass and leave Miranda alone. I can tell she just wants to be the Luna of this pack. Beta Jack and his mate Catie put it in her head that the Beta’s daughter is always the Luna of a pack. That is not always the case. That is how it worked out for me Jenni but the Moon Goddess has her own way of doing things.

“Alpha, Principal Simmons is on line 3,” Amanda says to me over the intercom. “Thanks, Amanda, do you mind having Shirley bring me some herbal tea?” “Sure thing Alpha.” “Hello, this is Alpha Jai. How can I help you?” “Good morning sir. I’m sorry to disturb you but one of your pack members was challenged into a friendly sparring match. Your presence is required,” Principal Simmons said to me. “Oh really, do I need to get the parents involved as well?” “It's totally up to you. This is a friendly challenge and parents are not required to attend considering each student is 17 and older.” “May I ask who are the students involved?” “Indigo Mason and Chase Anderson sir.” Goddess, I swear that girl is going to give me a stroke before Kayden takes over. “What time is the match?” “2pm. Can you arrive by 1:45pm? That will be the end of her lunch period and it will give you and her both time to talk things over. Chase is from a different pack and I do not want a war to break out.” “Understood. I will be there at 1:30pm.” Well, there goes my day of being uneventful.

I managed to get most of my paperwork completed. I mind-linked Vance, and Jenni telling them I will be at the high school for the next couple of hours. Vance linked me separately, “Is everything Ok, do I need to come with you. No, Indigo was challenged into a friendly sparring match with Chase Anderson.” “Chase Anderson, the name sounds familiar but I can't put a finger in it.” “Chase is Alpha Jason’s son from the North Moon Pack.” “Oh, I see. Is your phone fully charged?” “I guess that means you don't want to come.” “Nope, you are on your own, brother. This is what I’ve been going through since she was 7. It's your turn now…UNCLE JAI,” Vance says to me laughing his ass off. I just cut the link off. I will deal with him later.

I arrived at the school at 1:30pm. And saw Amy, Michelle, Shannon, and Indigo. “Hello ladies, mind telling me how this challenge took place,” I said to the girls. “Welllll,” Indigo started to explain… “we were talking about the mating ball and me getting a mate and how I dont date and never had a boyfriend. I told Amy that I kicked all of the guys asses during our training session so they wouldn't want to be my mate. Then Chase comes up and challenges me saying something on the lines of us being a sorry pack because a girl is the future head warrior. I accepted his challenge, now I am going to show him what this Future Head Warrior can do.” “Ok, first Indigo, you are not supposed to say ‘ass’ in front of me. I am in Alpha mode now, not Uncle mode.” “Oh, sorry. It's hard to tell at times.” “Please keep in mind that this is a friendly match. I will be watching and recording the fight as usual. Chase is from a different pack and we do not want to start a war.” “Does that mean no broken bones?” “Yes, No Broken Bones, Young Lady!” “What about drawing blood?” “Do not draw blood to the point where he is choking on it.” “Deal!” I shook my head and chuckled. I just love my niece. Her mouth is going to cause a war one day.
