-Evan- I was running my fingers gently down my mate’s arm, kissing her shoulder softly, as she slept with her back to me and her face turned towards the warm glow of the fire. I hadn’t imagined I’d ever be here, feeling this way again. I had thought I’d never let anyone in, but she had managed to breach my defenses—or perhaps she had simply broken down the door and made herself at home in my heart. I smiled at the thought, gently pushing some of her hair away to expose more of her pale neck. It was difficult not to be tempted to bite down on it. I loved the sweet sounds she made when I did.
