Chapter 12The following morning, Toby, Wayne and James had a leisurely breakfast and talked about how best to approach Janette. “I think I need to be frank with her, you know,” James said. “I think she needs to hear that a parent should always choose her child first. I hope I can appeal to her faith, convince her that true faith in God would mean choosing to love you, in spite of anything, and trusting that God made you as you are for a reason.”
“Will she accept that we’re made as God intended rather than we’ve just chosen some deviant lifestyle?” Wayne asked.
“I hope she can get there,” James said. “My arguments to her are gonna be that she didn’t choose to be straight and God don’t make mistakes.”
“She’ll say God don’t, but people do,” Toby said, sounding a little dejected.
