Lucia’s Origins

2132 Words
Lucia’s POV I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy mating, shifting and being with him but at the same time I didn’t trust him.  He had hurt me almost as badly as the other’s in my life had and it would take a lot of time for me to get over it.  If the truth were told I wouldn’t have mated with him just yet but the future of our world depended on it.  According to what we had been told if I didn’t shift I wouldn’t come into my powers, which I still didn’t know what they were, and the world as we knew it would drastically change.  I had no time to figure out what powers I had or even ask any questions when I was being transported back to my room.  My pup was in trouble by someone we trusted and I for the life of me couldn’t figure out who it could be.  When we got to the room I picked up on the scent of my trusted servant and felt a little bit of relief.  If she was here she would give her life to save my pup.  After all she had protected me all my life I trusted her just like she was my own mother.  I gushed when I saw her “Amara, thank goddess you are here.  Someone we know and trust is trying to hurt the pup.”  She turned around to face me snarling as she was transforming into her wolf.  She was able to snap out “stupid little princess, I can’t let him live.  My master would kill me if I don’t kill him.  He’s coming for you.  He is going to kill your family and your mate.  He’s going to take you as his mate and make you help him change the supernatural world forever.”  I was caught so off guard I didn’t know what to do.  I stood there staring at her and the horrible words she had just spurted out.  I couldn’t move or think.  Suddenly she finished her shift and started towards my baby boy.  Lucas called out to me and instinctively I threw out my hands to beg her to stop.  Crying out in pain I felt a surge of power leave my hands and go directly for Amara.  Before I knew she was being flung out the window and onto the  ground.  How in the hell she survived the fall from four stories I didn’t know but she got up to run off.  My eyes focused on her and with my mind I picked her back up and told Lucas to fetch some warriors to put her in the cells.  He ran to the window and yelled for the warriors to open the dungeons and the cells.  I then used my mind to throw her in  there and then bind her with silver.  I crushed several of her bones and then instructed warriors through my mind link to inject her with wolfsbane so that she wouldn’t heal.  Looking over at my might his face was white and jaw was wide open.  I didn’t fully understand the magnitude of what I had just done but once it was over I collapsed to the floor to be overcome by darkness.  As I was falling I could see Lucas running to me crying out in desperation.  I wanted so much to assure him that I was ok but I couldn’t get out the words it was as if everything in me was drained.  I could hear my mother in the background “I was afraid of this.  Quickly Lucas pick her up and get her to the bed she needs rest.” I was floating.  I thought that the feeling was coming from Lucas carrying me but this was different.  When I opened my eyes I expected to see my bedroom but that was not the scene I was met with.  I was in a dark place that was slowly gaining light.  As the light was claiming it’s rightful place over the darkness I could hear humming.  Not just any kind of humming but the most beautiful voice ever.  The strange thing is that I was certain I had heard that very hum and that very voice many times before in my childhood.  “So right you are my child.  I used to watch over you and hum to you while you slept.”  I peered at the figure walking forward and asked the beautiful woman in white who she was.  “I am your true mother.  I am Selene the moon Goddess.” I was confused why would the moon goddess be talking to me let alone watching over me when I was a child.  “Why?”  It was the only words I could formulate.  She let out the sweetest of all laughter and grabbed my hand.  “This is going to take some time why don’t we go for a stroll while I tell you all about it.”  I shook my head and said “no I need to get back, my baby needs me, there is a war coming and I need to be there.”  She smiled at me and said “my grandson is perfectly safe for the time being and the war is still a few weeks away.  You have plenty of time to find out who you truly are my daughter.”  I looked at her in confusion and said “why do you keep calling me your daughter?”  “You see my child, I can’t bring forth fruit of my own loins any longer.  So when I wish to procreate I travel to earth and find myself a worthy she-wolf to carry my offspring.  That she-wolf is then approached by me and I explain to her that while the baby she carries is technically my seed it will be her earthly child.  That child when he or she reaches the age of majority and has their first shift will come into powers that would remain unknown until that day.  Some will have many powers and some just a few.  Prophecy tells of a female wolf being born in wolf form that will bear the mark of one of my direct descendants.  I was certain it would be you but when you didn’t come into your wolf at the age of majority I became worried about you.  My darling, you are born with more powers than any of my earthly born children combined.  Your son will also have your powers.  You will need to teach him about his strengths but first I must teach you about them so that you don’t collapse in the middle of a battle.” Lucas’ POV I did as my future mother in law had instructed and picked her up carrying her gently to the bed.  I laid her under the covers and stroked her delicate face.  “Please wake up soon.  I need to prove to you that I will never hurt you or let anyone else hurt you or our pup ever again.”  I looked up at her mother and asked “is there something you need to tell me?  Why don’t you seem worried about this at all?”  She sighed and motioned from me to come take a seat next to her on the sofa in the room.  I was reluctant to leave my mate but I something in my gut told me I needed to hear what this woman was about to tell me.  I walked over to the couch after giving a kiss to the forehead of my mate and checking on our son.  She smiled sweetly at me and started talking about how after she had her son she became infertile due to the loss of her ovaries.  She had tubal pregnancies in rapid succession after the birth of Lucian causing her to become unable to get pregnant any longer.  She had prayed to the moon goddess to heal her so that she could have more children and thought that her answers had gone unheard.  Then one night the moon goddess appeared to her.  The moon goddess told her that she would grant her the ability to have one more child.  She would be chosen to carry a direct descendant of the moon goddess herself and to raise the child until the age of majority when he or she came into their powers to see where they would stand in this world.  When the child came into his or her powers the moon goddess herself would call the child to her and explain the origins of his or her birth.  Explain the powers that they may come to hold.  I couldn’t believe what I was hearing but this woman was being completely honest and sincere so there was no doubt.  I could sense nothing but love and a mixture of pain in what she was saying.  She loved my Lucia more than anything as if she had been genetically responsible for her life as that of her son.  I asked her if that was why her husband and former Alpha seemed to be less interested in Lucia than he was in his son and she sadly nodded her head.  I got it most Alphas are possessive and prideful.  I tried to put myself in his place and thought if it was me I wasn’t sure how I would react.  The old me before meeting Lucia would never have accepted a child that wasn’t biologically mine.  However, looking over at my baby boy I couldn’t imagine not loving something so vulnerable and sweet if it came from her body.  If it was her child it was my child as well.  To be fair, my mother-in-law told me Lucia’s father wasn’t always indifferent towards her it wasn’t until she reached eighteen and she had told him the truth behind their daughter’s life. Selene’s POV When I had made the decision to rule my children from the heavens instead of walking with them on earth I lost the ability to carry any offspring within my own womb.  For eons now I have been choosing worthy she-wolves from my beloved children to carry direct heirs to my kingdom.  While immortality has it’s advantages it also has it’s disadvantages.  I could only do so much to protect them and care for them from where I was.  I was granted the ability to pass my genes on and my powers as well.  It was prophesied that one of my offspring would be born and possess all of my powers with the exception of the power of creation.  He or she would not be able to create life with his or her words but other things could be created such as wind storms and the like.  I wouldn’t know when that child was to be born but when the child came to age of majority and gained his or her powers I would become aware of their existence and would then need to instruct that child on the powers they possessed.  What was most troublesome was that part of the prophesy foretold  of one of my children making a deal with the demon God to overtake the supernatural world and enslave any that were not wolves.  Any wolves that did not adhere to the new world order would be enslaved as well.  I pained me so to know that one of my children would deceive their world so badly.  The child that I created in one of my beings would be fight in this battle as well but could be swayed either way it would be unknown which way until that child came into his or her powers.  My heart warmed knowing that this beautiful young lady talking with me was the chosen one.  What was even more important to me was that she was not aligned with the wolf that had betrayed me which meant he has already lost without realizing it.  Well that is if I can get her to use her powers and use them wisely.  Her instincts with her child caused her to overuse and therefore drain herself and something like that would be of no benefit to the world in the heat of battle.  I could tell that my darling Lucia was having trouble understanding what I had told her about her birth so before I continued I was giving her some space to wrap her mind around it.  She looked at me and said “so does that mean that you are my real mother?”  I smiled at her “child I am only responsible for your creation and life your real mother is the one that raised you.”
