King Asher, this is my daughter Princess Athena, the one you requested do we have ourselves an arrangement, my father stated.
I can sense that she is still untouched and of royal blood, so we have a deal Royce.
Good, now be gone and take her out of my sight, one less problem my family and I have to deal with.
I despise how they chat about me when I’m in the same room wait was that hurt I saw across Asher's face it hardly lasted a split second, but I swear I saw it I pondered to myself. No, that can’t be correct: he’s a ferocious dragon, he don’t reveal emotions.
Asher takes my arm, telling my father we will protect your Kingdom for now and stalks out of the office.
Attempting to maintain pace with Asher, I spot three guards accompanying us they don’t look familiar, but I’m too afraid to ask.
Asher sense my uneasiness and brings his hand down to my own saying they're his men I have no reason to feel restless.
Easy for him to claim I’m now surrounded by strangers and leaving behind the only home I’ve ever known. Deciding not to announce that option of mine.
Exiting the castle, I realize there’s no transportation or my belongings.
Where are all my things, and how will we go to your place, I ask belittled?
Well, little Athena, we don’t desire to snag anything because you will have everything you ever need at your new home. I’m a dragon. I don’t require a horse when I’m capable of flying.
Wait, what I cry out making him chuckle.
Are you scared Athena?
Uh no Sir, just concerned.
Good, now stand back before I have a chance to demand why he shifts into a magnificent, gigantic dragon.
I stare with my mouth wide and marvel at him.
Asher is beautiful, he has to be at least 100 feet tall and wide, he’s massive. His scales are of a greenish gray color on his forehead I see a star like pendent. Ashers dragon form has icy blue eyes, I can look at my reflection in them. Not to mention his tail is long and reaches to a star like tip, he’s incredible.
I wander over to the majestic like creature he sets his enormous head down to my height, so I reach my hand out calmly and pet his head in return he makes a grunt like noise retracting my palm back quickly realizing he acted like he doesn’t want it I lower my head feeling flustered.
Surprising me, Asher gently nudges me with his powerful head. I glance up into his eyes, and he shakes his head. Not truly understanding. One of his guards informed me that Asher liked what I was doing.
Oh! Uh okay, so what do I do now, making the guard laugh.
You pet him, that’s what you do, he expresses in a duh tone.
Guiding my eyes back to the giant creature in front of me, I continue to caress him farther.
Out of nowhere Asher moves his tail around my waistline and heaved me on his back.
A squeal comes from my lips, making the patrol that I still don’t know his name double over and laugh at me.
I pout, and he yells hold on tight Princess, so you don’t slip.
In minutes, we take off towards the sky and a cry escapes my lips once more, and I hold on for dear life, closing my eyes.
I swear I heard Asher chuckle, it sounded beautiful I never knew dragons could laugh. It brought a slight smile to my lips.
Finding the courage after a few minutes I peak open my eyes and the sight is wonderful we’re so high up I can touch the clouds if I wished to. I notice Asher’s guards men following us on horse back there are three I believe. Father's castle looks so tiny from way up here I see all the frosty mountain tops. The families of the Kingdom look like ants and the fields of multicolored flowers look so small but beautiful it’s tough to put into words what I’m looking at right now. The view is absolutely fascinating. I can’t help the wide grin that spreads across my face, I can’t recall the last occasion I felt so care free and happy maybe this won’t be as dreadful as I first thought. Maybe, just maybe, I can create a new way of life with King Asher and his people.
