Chapter 2: The Werewolf meets the Vampire

Viktor’s pov…

“What?! There is a vampire here at the palace?” Lukas, my assistant, asked me with his surprised reaction.

Lukas is a personal assistant of mine, the moment I decided to leave the pack, he joined me and never left my side, and with that, we became close and ended up being the best of friends.

“Do you remember the famous model that I’ve shown you a month ago?” I reminded him and his eyes suddenly widened.

“I finally met that famous model a while ago, she’s here inside the royal palace,” I told him.

“What the heck?! That famous model is… a vampire?” He asked, I nodded my head and he was so shocked that the famous model is a vampire.

I already saw that famous model named Suzie Arazon in some magazine covers locally and internationally, at first, I thought she was Princess Serene, but when I did my research, it turned out to be that they just look alike.

Meeting her at the burial ground made my heart stop beating for a moment. She holds the same face as Princess Serene, and for me, it’s way too impossible that they just look alike.

“So, how does she look? Does she look exactly like the princess?” Lukas curiously asked and I slowly nod my head as my response.

“There’s no way that they only look alike, Lukas,” I said with my low voice.

“Are you saying that… she might be the lost Princess Serene?” he asked, then I slowly turned my head on him.

“If she is a vampire and she is looking exactly like the princess, and the princess’ body has been missing for five years now… you know what I mean here, Lukas?” I told him while pointing my index finger at him.

“No way, bro! Do you think that the vampires’ sneaks inside the palace just to get the dead body of the princess and bring her to life again?” he asked me back.

“It’s possible, right?” I asked him again and he’s shaking his head.

My heart aches the moment I think about it, that my Princess Serene, my only love, has now turned into one of our mortal enemies, the vampires.

“So, what are your plans now, if that vampire is the lost princess?” he asked then I shake my head.

“Honestly, I am not ready with this, the moment I saw that model and she holds the face of my princess, I wanted to meet her and asked if they are twins or what, but when I finally met her a while ago, with emotionless eyes, then she showed me her fangs… dude, it breaks my heart,” I said, and there’s sudden pain in my heart. How will I accept the fact that my princess is now a soulless being?

“Can’t believe that the royal family invited a bloodsucker b***h here” he said while shaking his head in disbelief.

I look out the window and keep on wondering how my real feelings will be if I will finally find out that she is the lost princess, my princess.

Suzie’s pov…

“What is it?” Sunni asked, as soon as she got into this room and handed me a small stainless flask bottle with, of course, human blood in it.

I grabbed the flask bottle and drink from it, then it relieves my stress from that stinky wolf that I met at the burial ground.

“I’ve encountered a stinky wolf at the burial ground,” I told her then she showed me her questionable look.

“What are you doing at their burial ground?” she asked.

“I’m just curious about their princess,” I replied.

“Then a werewolf is there?” she confusedly asked.

“The first one came there was me, then after a few minutes, I smelled a very unpleasant scent,” I replied.

“Who is it?” she curiously asked. I got to hold on to my phone and search for the name of that man I encountered a while ago because he is a famous actor.

The moment I searched Viktor Elias’ name in google search I showed it right away to Sunni, then her eyes went from normal to a bloody red.

“He is a werewolf? The famous actor, Viktor Elias is a werewolf?” she asked in surprise, and I just nodded my head as my response.

“He looks handsome, but he owns a very unpleasant smell, that I want to puke and kill him right away,” I told her with my irritated voice.

“Are you saying that… a werewolf is also invited by the royal family?” she asked while shaking her head.

I drank again from the flask bottle and nodded my head.

"Now, I need to deal with him tonight in front of the royals," I told Sunni.

"Yes, you need to, and one thing Suzie, please don't do anything stupid that will make the royals suspect us" she reminded me and I nod my head again and drink again.

"But I'm experiencing a weird flashback of events the moment we got here at the palace," I told her as I look outside the big window.

"What kind of events?" Sunni curiously asked.

"About Princess Serene, I don't know what was happening to me, but it was so damn weird. It feels like, I am the one experiencing it and not the princess" I explained to her but when I got to look at her, she is showing her confused look at me.

"I think I need to know more about my human life before" I added and she nodded her head as she agreed with what I've said.

I need Arthur, I am sure he knew something about my life before he transformed me into a soulless being.

But my problem now is how will I face that wolf in front of the royal family, I need to be calm and collected.

Right now, we were heading towards the dining hall but I smell a familiar bad scent, it was the stinky wolf, and it's not only one, I smell three wolves.

As we came closer to the entrance of the dining hall, I saw a group of people walking towards the same door as us, and as we got closer to them the unpleasant smell got too strong.

‘Keep calm, Suzie’ Sunni talked to me in my mind and reminded me about being calm in front of the humans.

‘I know I answered her back.

I raised my head as I walked confidently towards the entrance of the dining hall.

“Oh my god, Viktor, isn’t she the famous model?” I heard it from a woman standing next to that stinky wolf, as they looked at us. We’re still meters away from them but I can hear every word they utter with each other, and that first three words she just said pisses me off.

“She’s just a typical beauty, not even close to all the princesses around the world” that stinky wolf said, and he just got into my nerves saying that my beauty is just typical.

“Wait, she looks familiar. Isn’t she looking like one of the princesses here in the palace?” the woman told him.

“Yes, she is, but she is no way better than Princess Serene, that typical beauty model is maybe a manipulative one, that’s why she became famous,” he said. Didn’t he just criticize my beauty?

‘I know you’re hearing their conversation, stay calm’ Sunni reminded me again, so I simply nod my head while confidently walking towards them.

Then we stop right in front of these werewolves and a human. The stinky wolf is looking straight at my eyes, so I did the same.

“Hi, there” Vida my manager greeted the woman standing beside this bad-smelled wolf.

“Hello, I am Lara the manager of Viktor Elias,” she said while gently patting the right shoulder of this bad-smelled wolf.

"Oh, nice to meet you Lara, and of course I knew about Viktor. He is the famous Viktor Elias" my manager said, and I can't stand her being so nice to this stinky being standing in front of me.

"Is he that famous?" I suddenly utter and his eyes made a sharp stabbed on me.

"I mean… I don't know who he is" I said then raised one of my eyebrows.

"Because you're too busy and focus on your field, honey," Vida told me so I gave out my forced smile then he flashed his fake smile too.

"I am… Viktor Elias, and you are?" He playfully asked, I just looked at him raising one of my eyebrows.

"Call me Suzie Arazon" I said then smile but flashes a sharp look at him.

I raised my left hand in front of him almost near his lips, provoking him to hold my hand and plant a kiss on it.

He looks at me, but I can see that his eyes are fuming saying he wanted to kill me.

He smirked, then gently held my left hand and slowly brought it closer to his lips, he planted a soft kiss on it. I know we both don't like each other, but I want to see his reaction.

His lips are soft and I wanted to feel something, but I am an emotionless and soulless being. In my three years as a model, I am just mimicking every human's emotions, even their gestures; I'm just copying everything plus the power of my hypnotism, and of course, it worked and I became famous not only in the local industry but international too.

While his lips are still on my hand, I saw another flashback. It's Princess Serene again, and she's kissing a man, but the background is not in this place, it's somewhere else, a place filled with flowers. The princess looks in love and is too invested in the man she's kissing with.

I close my eyes for a second, then when I open it, he's looking at me. I tried my hypnotism on him.

"My pleasure to meet you, Suzie," he said with a smile.

"That look will not work on me, Ms. Suzie Arazon" he arrogantly said, and I'm a bit surprised at what he said.

Damn, my hypnotism didn't work on him. Why? I pulled my left hand from his hold. He laughed and it irritated me, and I wanted to kill him right away.

"Excuse me, you can now get inside, Prince Jairus and Princess Alena are waiting for you," a not-so-old man told us, I smiled then walked after him.

The moment I entered the dining hall, this stinky wolf was behind me.

“Hey, we’re going to eat dinner… Are you eating human food?” He teasingly asked me in a whisper, his breath is warmer than a usual human's breath. I looked at him and smiled.

“Of course, I am” I answered, he then smirked and walked ahead of me.

As a model, interacting with humans, I am not just imitating their facial expressions, I also get to practice perfectly on the way they eat and I can even intake human food, but only one-fourth a spoon. Only me and Sunni can do that, but Aiko and Brit cannot force themselves to eat human food.

I sat down across Viktor who is still looking at me, so I did not remove my eyes away from him too.

“Let’s just wait for King Marcus and Queen Hara,” Jairus told us, but Viktor never removed his gaze on me, and that makes me not removing my gaze on him too.

And then the door of the dining hall opens, we all look and the king enters followed by the queen, I supposed. Both are not wearing the royal traditional dress as I’ve seen on most of the televisions or magazines, they are just wearing simple clothes.

They all stood up but I remained sitting, then Sunni looked at me and said through her eyes that I needed to stand up also, I think to pay respect for them. Well then, it's not my thing, but I stood up anyway. All bowed down except me and Sunni, and again it's not our thing to do so.

The two settled themselves at the dining table, so we all sat down. This stinky wolf looked at me again, and it irritated me.

“So, you are the famous model that my son here is talking about?” The king asked me and I nodded my head as my response, of course, flashing my smile at him.

“Call me Suzie, Suzie Arazon,” I told him and he slightly nodded his head.

“Arazon? Are you related to Dr. Arthur Arazon?” He curiously asked.

“Yes, of course, he’s my father” I answered him sounding like I am so proud being the daughter of Arthur.

Heard it right, my so-called vampire father is a well-loved doctor here in our town. To be honest, we’re not bad vampires, we do drink human blood but we chose our victims and we’re not drinking blood from innocent people.

“Your father must have been proud of you,” he said, and looking through his eyes, every word he utters is sincere.

“I am also proud of my father, lots of people trust him as a doctor,” I said with a smile, then I heard a small chuckle and it came from the stinky wolf sitting across, so I made a quick look over him and he is smirking at me.

“I like how he helps and watches the health of those prisoners, even though they’re criminals, but still he chose to help them free of charge,” the king said.

Of course, it's in exchange for their blood, but no one knows about it.

“I invited him here a few days ago, to discuss my proposed health project for the people," he said to me.

"I hope he'll consider doing a free health check-up for all the people here in our town," he added.

"Don't worry, I'll remind him about that, I'm about to visit him after this" I said, but I hear a soft chuckle again, so when I quickly look at the stinky wolf, he is drinking his wine from the wine glass he's holding while staring at me, so I glared back at him.

Viktor's pov…

"And, of course, the famous actor, Viktor" I am startled the moment I hear my name.

I can't concentrate much here because of these two bloodsuckers sitting across me, and one is wearing the face of my princess.

I look at King Marcus who mentioned my name.

"Can I rely on you to promote our town? I wanted to attract more tourists here," he said.

"Of course, I know Viktor can do that, he is one of the locals here before he gets into the limelight," the queen said, raising her glass of wine towards me, so I smiled and raised my wine glass too.

I know, they knew about my close friendship with Princess Serene, but they don't have any idea how deep our relationship was before.

"But I think Viktor hates our town now," Princess Alena said with a sarcastic tone of her voice.

"Why would I?" I asked.

"Because you left this town the moment Princess Serene died, you didn't even attend her funeral" she replied.

Yeah, she's right. I never attended her funeral, and I left the moment she died because I am the cause of her death and I am blaming myself until now.

I slowly turned my gaze on this bloodsucker b***h sitting right across me, she is looking at me, her eyes are blank with no emotion, but I got to see every detail of my princess’ face on her.

“Yeah, you’re right, I left the town the moment I hear her death because I can’t stand seeing her lifeless,” I told Princess Alena, then she drank from her wine glass.

“Are you having an affair with Princess Serene before?” This bloodsucker b***h suddenly interrupted us with her surprising question.

The moment I looked at her, I felt an awkward feeling. Is she reading my mind? No vampire can ever read my mind.

“I am just too curious about it. What is so special about her, that you don’t want to see her lifeless body?” she asked again, I glared at her then she showed me an evil smile.

“She’s a good friend of mine, a special one” I replied.

“If you happen to have that one special friend then she suddenly dies, how will you feel about it?” I asked her back that makes her raise one of her eyebrows at me.

“Unless, you don’t have any friends” I added then flashed and smirked at her, I saw her rolled her eyes.

I saw the other vampire handed her a small stainless flask bottle and she drinks from it, of course, it’s human blood.

“I’m sure Princess Serene would be happy to see you here with us,” Prince Jairus told me. Of course, he’s lying. I know how he wanted to kick Serene out of this palace.

It’s funny, that he’s saying that while looking at Suzie who looks exactly like the princess.

“I hope so,” I said then drink from my glass of wine, and snap a glance at the bloodsucker who’s busy drinking human blood from her flask bottle.

“Why are you two looking at me?” She curiously asked but her tone is a bit annoying.

“Prince Jairus, I think the wine you prepared does not suit Ms. Suzie’s taste” Princess Alena suddenly utters.

“Oh, nothing to worry, I love the taste of your wine,” she said defensively, I let out a soft chuckled which I know annoys her because she glared at me again.

“This is for my skincare” she added with a smile then raised the flask bottle she’s holding to the princess.

“Oh, can you share your skincare with me?” the princess said, then I instantly spit the wine that I drank, of course, the bloodsucker’s eyes stabbed on me as sharp as a knife.

“Princess Alena, I think your skincare is better than hers,” I said, then the glass of water on my left side suddenly fell, the glass filled with water scattered on the carpeted floor.

The servants run to my place right away to clean it up, and I know I got her pissed off because she made the glass fell off from the table, so I flashed a winning smile at her.

“Thank you, Viktor. You’re such a nice person” Princess Alena said and flashes her sweet smile.

“Werewolves” Suzie suddenly utters, everyone got surprised and we all looked at her and she’s smiling.

“I heard before that there are wolves who attacked your palace before” she continued and looked at King Marcus who is now looking annoyed the moment he hears the word wolf.

“Those bastards werewolves,” King Marcus said with his voice is fuming with anger.

“Are you not making any deals with the werewolves?” She asked.

I am about to lose my temper to this bloodsucker b***h, but Lukas got to lightly tap my thigh underneath this table, so I got to hold my emotion.

“I declare war towards them, no werewolves can step inside the House of Royals,” the king said, then as I look at Suzie, she’s flashing now her evil smile towards me, so I stared back with my sharp eyes, I want to stab my deadly claws on her paled soft skin and scratch her to death.

“How would you know, if your visitor is a werewolf?” She asked the king, but King Marcus shakes his head.

“I am still working on that and I am hiring some experts on how to detect a wolf among the crowd” he replied.

“Maybe my father can also help you on that,” she suggested.

Her suggestion made me fume with anger. She’s now using the grudge of the royal family against us. I swear Suzie, you and your bloodsucker clan will not win over us.

“Don’t you think that some of the werewolves are good too? I mean, don’t generalize them just because some attacked you years ago” I said, but I made myself not too defensive.

“I know they are out there mingling with people; some are good, most are bad, but as their king, I still want to have peace in our town,” King Marcus said.

"Don't you have grudges over the werewolves, because I heard they killed your princess?" Bloodsucker b***h interrupted again, but I tried myself not to mind her.

“You want to know why werewolves are everywhere?” I asked looking at the king, but he just raised his two eyebrows at me.

“Because, their mortal enemies the vampires are out there, imitating every human’s emotions and expressions, and they can also copy… a human’s face,” I told him, then I turn my gaze to Suzie the moment I said the last few words, then drink my wine.

She raised one eyebrow at me, stabbing her sharp eyes on me.

"What I want to say is that maybe they're everywhere because their mortal enemies are also out there in human form" I added.

"Why do I feel like, you want to point out to them that I am one of your mortal enemies, just because I have the same face as your princess?" She asked.

"I didn't say that, Suzie," I told her smirking and I know I made her more pissed off.

"Do you think your father would be happy to help us?" King Marcus asked her.

"Of course, your highness. My father would happily help you with your people, and I will ask him to help you on how to recognize a werewolf from the crowd" she said with a smile then flashes an evil smile on me.

"Thank you for that, Suzie," the king said.

Why am I annoyed whenever this bloodsucking b***h smiles at the royal family? But at the same time, I also feel awkward every time I am looking at her, I feel like I am staring at the real Princess Serene.

Suzie’s pov…

This stinky wolf can’t take his eyes off me. I know we’re mortal enemies, but his eyes whenever he’s looking at me, it was filled with longing, sadness, and anger.

“King Marcus, I do have a suggestion, or more likely a proposal” Hara suddenly utters.

We all looked in the direction of her as she smiled with each of us.

“Maybe, both of them can promote our town together. I mean… both are famous in their respective fields, and both are locals here too, so why not have them as our town’s representative to attract more tourists” Hara told Marcus.

"I think that is a great idea" my manager Vida happily agreeing to the queen's proposal.

"Yes, I agree too. Imagine Viktor and Suzie in one project, that was awesome, their supporters would surely love that" his manager Lara said with a big smile.

I rolled my eyes and as my gaze turned to Viktor he is teasingly looking at me. Damn this stinky wolf irritates me.

"I would love to do that, I don't know with her" Viktor said smiling but he's faking it, so I rolled my eyes over him and looked at the queen.

"I can do it, I can do it alone, but since you want us to do it together, it would be my pleasure working with this so-called famous actor," I said looking at the queen.

'Suzie, please pick your words, be nice, okay' my assistant talked to me through my mind.

'I honestly don't like working with him, I might kill him.' I replied to her through my mind too, while staring at the stinky wolf across me.

"Whoa! Look who's talking, fine, actually I can also do it alone, but for the sake of everyone in this town and you, your highness I would gladly accept it" he said then the queen flashes her big smile, in which I don't like.

"Okay, thank you so much for your cooperation, and I hope the tourism will be alive again in our town," Marcus said with his happy face.

"So, I will let my son Prince Jairus handle this project," he added.

"Dad! What about me? I also wanted to work with Viktor" Alena said, pointing madly at herself.

"You need to help your mom, work hand in hand with Dr. Arthur, in case he accepts my proposal," Marcus said then flashes a smile on me, well, that smile of him just wants me to help him with my father.

But as I turn my gaze to Viktor again, he is staring at me, so I keep my eyes glued on him as well.

His eyes are wanting to say something to me. I hear our managers talking to the royal family, as Viktor and I are busy staring at each other, I am trying to read what’s in his mind. Why is he looking at me that way?

After our dinner, the royals let us stay for a night at the palace. I tried to roam around, I happened to pass by in one room, and guess what, I think it’s the office of the crown prince. So, I sneaked inside and hid behind these bookshelves.

“I already hired an investigator to investigate her,” Erol told him, and the prince nodded his head.

He's investigating who? Was it me?

“Try to know more about Viktor Elias, what is his real relationship to Princess Serene '' he also instructed Erol.

I also wanted to know more about Princess Serene. What happened to the royal palace before? Why did the werewolves attack them?

“Do we need to re-open the case of Princess Serene?” Erol asked Jairus, but to my surprise, the crown prince shakes his head.

“That case was closed, no need to discuss it” the crown prince said, and his voice is so dominant that he doesn’t want anything related to their lost princess.

“No words will come out from the palace about the case of Princess Serene, just let the people leave flowers for their princess, and I don’t care if it will continue over the years,” he arrogantly said while pointing his index finger to Erol’s face that made him stepped back.

He is such an arrogant prince, I am right, he doesn’t care about the people he only cares about the royal family, his own family.

A light knock was heard.

“Who is it?” Erol asked while looking at the door.

“It’s me, Nellie” a voice of a woman was heard at the other side of the door.

Erol walked and opened it for her, a woman in a servant uniform came in.

“What do you want?” the prince asked him.

“Lady Mariana wanted to visit Princess Serene’s tomb,” the woman named Nellie told the crown prince.

“Let her, there is no one inside that tomb and yet she is still eager to visit her daughter’s grave yearly,” Jairus told the woman, she shook her head and bowed down then left the room right away.

So, who is Lady Mariana? I decided to follow the woman.

I sneaked inside the royal burial ground, to see who Lady Mariana is. Of course, no one should catch me here, so I pause every camera in this area.

As I approached inside, I heard a soft sob. I saw a woman kneeling right in front of Princess Serene’s tomb, but definitely, there is no one inside that tomb.

I stood frozen the moment the woman turned her head around to face me.

“Who are you?” She asked and I was surprised by her fierce voice.

Who is she? Why am I like this? The moment she looks straight into my eyes, I don’t know why I can’t move my body, or it’s just me that I don’t want to move.

“Serene?” She asked and her voice suddenly became cracked.

I stepped back and she slowly stood up but the moment she took a step towards me, I quickly left.
