Into the storm

865 Words
*Lena* The storm rages above us, and the air is electric with anticipation. I can barely breathe as I watch the tornado touch down in the distance, a colossal force of nature spiraling down from the darkened sky. It’s huge and terrifying, the wind whipping debris into the air, but there’s something mesmerizing about it too. It is slightly scary but also eerily beautiful. My heart races, my pulse pounding in my ears like a drum as I glance at Zac, who remains eerily calm beside me. He smiles. “Here we go.” “Zac! Why aren’t you driving?” I ask, my voice tinged with panic. The tornado twists ominously, and I can feel its power drawing closer, the air thickening with tension, as nails pound the car. He looks at me, his eyes bright with excitement, and grins. “I want you to have the full experience, Lena. This is what we came for.” I swallow hard. “I can have that from a distance.” I protest, my fingers gripping the edge of the seat as I watch the swirling mass inch toward us, the roar of the wind drowning out my thoughts. “Trust me,” he says, his voice steady and reassuring. “It’s a small one, a level 1, maybe a small 2 tops. But if you want extra security, I can give it to you.” His grin remains, teasing but sincere, and I can see the thrill in his eyes. “What’s better security?” I ask, glancing nervously between him and the tornado, I can’t believe he means to stay in it’s path. Without missing a beat, he presses a button on the dashboard. Suddenly, I hear a low, humming sound vibrating through the truck, and the vehicle rattles slightly beneath us. “We’re hunkered down now,” he explains, his expression turning serious. “This truck is built to handle up to level 4 tornadoes. We’re safe here.” The realization hits me, and I feel a mixture of fear and exhilaration. The tornado is close now, the wind screaming as it barrels toward us, and I can feel my heart in my throat. “Zac,” I whisper, my voice trembling. “What if it gets worse?” He turns to me, his gaze intense and unwavering. “You’re going to be okay, Lena. Just breathe. Focus on me.” I do my best to follow his advice, but the sight of the tornado swirling so close is overwhelming. I feel a surge of adrenaline coursing through my veins, my senses heightened. The truck shakes as the wind batters it, and a part of me is terrified, but another part is soaring with excitement. “How do you feel?” Zac asks, his voice low and almost intimate, cutting through my swirling thoughts. “Breathless,” I admit, my heart racing not just from fear but from something deeper, something electric that crackles between us. As I look into his eyes, I see the reflection of the storm, and in that moment, everything else fades away. Before I realize what’s happening, we’re leaning closer together, our breaths mingling in the charged air. His lips brush against mine, tentative at first, and then it ignites into something passionate, something wild and raw. The kiss deepens, and I lose myself in the moment, forgetting the tornado raging outside, the danger, the fear. All that matters is the heat building between us, the urgency of our connection, making me let out a deep moan. I feel his hands on my waist, pulling me closer as the truck shakes from the winds outside. It’s a strange juxtaposition… this chaotic storm outside and the storm brewing between us. It is like I can taste the adrenaline on my lips, and I can’t help but kiss him back, lost in the thrill of it all. “Lena,” he murmurs against my mouth, his voice a low growl that sends shivers down my spine. “This is incredible.” I pull away just enough to look into his eyes, my breath coming in quick gasps. “It is,” I reply, feeling dizzy from both the kiss and the tornado’s fury. “But we should…” “Just a little longer,” he says, capturing my lips again, and I can feel the world around us fading into the background. The truck rattles more violently as the tornado hits, but I’m not afraid. I’m alive, exhilarated, and utterly consumed by this moment with him. The wind howls, and I can hear debris slamming against the truck, but all I can focus on is Zac. He pulls me into him, and I feel safe.. sheltered not just from the storm outside but from everything that holds me back. It’s just us now, two souls caught in a whirlwind of passion and chaos, and as the tornado rages, I know I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. I am pulled out of it by the radio crackling, then Soren’s voice; “Uhm guys the tornado is gone and we can like all hear you… so stop making out please.”
