Blackwell

I started walking towards it then I saw something move fast across the field. I started chasing it but it stopped and stared at me. I took a breath.

“Come here.”

They started walking towards me and I could get a better view of them then I noticed that I didn’t recognize them.

“Who are you?”

“Blackwell.”

“Why are you following me?”

“You’re following me.”

“Why are you here then?”

“I was walking though then I saw the base.”

He got up to me and I could see him better.

“You’re one of us.”

“No, I’m normal.”

I smirked.

“Down.”

He got down on all fours then looked up at me.

“Fine, I am.”

I let him get back up but he was still stuck there with me. 

“Why’d you lie to me, Blackwell?”

“Because I didn’t want you to know who I was. I wanted to knock but you startled me so I left.”

I nodded my head.

“You do know that you’re welcome here, right? Everyone that has supernatural DNA can come here and help train to become stronger.”

“I know but at the same time, it’s embracing it.”

“Why wouldn’t you?”

“Because I’m different.”

“So are all of us. And we are here, embracing it. We are here to make a difference in the world and help stop these creatures.”

He nodded his head.

“Why don’t you come in and take a look? We can get you some food, you can take a shower and get some sleep. We are doing training tomorrow so you can test the waters.”

He stared at me for a moment.

“You’re different.”

I chuckled.

“Is that a good thing?”

He looked away.

“Tell me what's on your mind.”

He looked at me.

“You’re beautiful and kind. You are spending your time out here with a stranger instead of being with Kyree.”

“How do you know who he is?”

“Because I see into your brain.”

I shook my head.

“You’re thinking about how-”

He looked at me funny.

“You’re blocking me out of your head.”

“That’s a thing I can do.”

“You’re not stronger than me.”

I smiled at him and he went to swing at me. I ducked and kicked the side of his leg in the knocked him in the jaw. He was knocked out then I dragged him to the base. 

“Someone help me!”

Two wolves came out and saw what happened.

“I need help bringing him inside. He tried attacking me.”

“You got it boss.”

They picked him up and brought him to the infirmary. They brought him to the back of the room and restrained him.

“Go get the Elders and make sure that no one else comes in here. Do not speak a word of this to anyone.”

“Yes boss.”

“Yes ma’am.”

They ran out of the room and went to get the Elders. I splashed some cold water on his face. He gasped awake.

“Good, you’re up.”

He pulled on his restraints.

“Let me go!”

“Calm down.”

He laid back down and glared at me. The door opened and the Elders came running into the room. I looked at the wolves.

“Guard the door and do not let anyone in.”

They nodded their heads. I brought the Elders over to Blackwell.

“His name is apparently Blackwell and he’s a wolf. But he tried fighting me because I wouldn’t let him into my head.”

“We know who he is Tori.”

I looked at them and they were all very angry with him.

“You want to tell Miss Tori who I am?”

I looked at them again and Flora started boiling him. I grabbed his arm and blocked it off.

“Tell me what he’s talking about or I’m blowing up the entire base right now and you know I can and will.”

Flora stopped and looked at me.

“The myth that we don’t have any kids is obviously wrong and you are proof of it. Well so is he.”

Aby came into the room and he looked scared.

“Hey dad, how are you?”

I looked at Aby then Blackwell and I could tell that they were father and son.

“I told you to not come back.”

“Well look at where I am. Tori here, brought me in.”

“He was lingering around outside and I talked to him thinking that he was one of us. Now I know that was true but that he’s basically the same as me.”

He looked at me.

“What are you talking about?”

“Do not give him any information that can give him power.”

I looked at Blackwell and I could see that he was trying to get into my head. I started applying Flora’s power to him and he winced then started groaning. He screamed out in pain then I applied everything. 

“What do we do with him?”

“He knows too much and he’s dangerous. We either lock him up, or kill him.”

I looked at Aby.

“Please leave. You are not going to want to be here for this.”

He nodded his head.

“Make it fast, please.”

I nodded my head then he walked out.

“Flora and nana, go with him and make sure he’s going to be okay. I can handle this on my own.”

They went to argue with me but decided not to. Once they walked out I started applying everything that I’ve taken from everyone. His, Daniels, Cora, Flora, my nana, everyone. He screamed for a minute then he died from the pain and the shock. I gasped and dropped to the ground. The Elders came to me and tried to help me.

“Get Ky.”

One of them sprinted out of the room and screamed for him. A minute later he came crashing into the room and scooped me up.

“Mamas, hey, I’m here baby.”

He pulled me onto his lap and he saw the body.

“Lets get out of here.”

He stood up then picked me up.He carried me to our room and Cora opened the door for us. He laid me on the bed and took my boots off for me. He changed then got in bed with me.

“You want to talk?”

“No.”

“Okay.”

He wrapped his arm around me but I turned over and he pulled me into his chest. We lied there while I cried and he rubbed my head. We lied there for hours and he was being so patient with me. I finally fell asleep and he didn’t let me go. I saw flashes of Blackwell and they were burned into my brain. 

The way he shaked to the way he looked me in the eyes the whole time. I jolted awake and I started crying again. Kyree went to comfort me but I shook my head and got up.

“I’m a monster. I killed him.”

“Shh baby.”

“He- He- He’s dead because of me.”

He pulled me back into bed and made me lay on his chest.

“Tell me what happened.”

“He attacked me outside when I went for a walk. I brought him in with a few wolves and had the Elders come meet him.”

I remembered Aby and cried even harder.

“He was Aby’s son Kyree. They had me kill Aby’s son.”

He pulled me even closer.

“He knew too much and if Aby made him leave, he must have done something serious.”

“Why don’t we go talk to him.”

I shook my head.

“I can never face him. I killed his son Kyree.”

He shook his head then there was a knock at the door. Kyree opened it and it was Aby with Hunter, Nana, and Flora. They came in and I hugged Aby.

“I’m so sorry.”

“Don’t be. Blackwell was a horrible kid and-”

“That is still your son.”

“He stopped being my son a long time ago, Tori. You did me a favor.”

“What did he do?”

“That fight that killed over half of the wolves here? He started it. He challenged Armani and when he lost, he caused an even bigger fight then ran.”

“We looked for him for years then gave up the hope of ever finding him. Then the apocalypse happened and I had a feeling that he was a part of that. But we found out that he wasn’t through our contact on the inside of the government.”

I nodded my head then Hunter sat on the bed next to me. He gave me a hug and I took a deep breath.

“I thought you were going to hate me.”

Aby looked at me and shook his head.

“I could never hate you Tori. You did the right thing and did your job.”

He came over and sat in front of me.

“I promise you, you did the right thing.”

I looked down then I felt Kyree’s hand on my shoulder.

“Can you all give us a few minutes?”

Everyone walked out including Hunter and Kyree sat in front of me.

“You have nothing to worry about. If you want, we can do somethings to get your mind off of this and no, I don’t mean anything s****l. I mean this in a literal way.””

“You mean therapy?”

“Or something like that. But I don’t want you to blame yourself for this.”

I nodded my head then I took a breath. I got up and opened the door.

“Can you get the Elder that heals? I don’t know her name.”

“Laurie.”

“Can you get her here?”

Flora nodded her head then did her mind link thing. A few minutes later Laurie came and looked at me.

“Tori, you needed me?”

“Come in.”

I brought her into the room and shut the door.

“I need you to help me heal it away. I don’t want to feel this anymore.”

“If I do this, you need to be one hundred percent about it.”

“I am.”

She nodded her head then we walked over to the bed. I laid down and she held her hand over my heart and my head. I felt something burning and I went to block it out.

“Don’t. It’s going to hurt, you have to feel the pain.”

I stopped and let her keep going. I felt everything start to surface. The pain from Blackwell, James- my father- everything that I went through before this life. I felt all of the anger and the sadness start to surface. I started screaming and clinging onto the bed. It went on for a few more minutes then she finally stopped and I felt, nothing.

“Tori?”

I looked at her and I shook my head.

“What did you just do?”

“You told me to heal you?”

“From Blackwell, not everything else. That was my fuel to keep going! My pain is gone now!”

The door opened and she looked at them.

“You made me numb!”

She shook her head and took a step back. Aby got between us and looked me in the eyes.

“You would rather be in pain than not feel something?”

“I’d rather regret my decisions and use them to fuel me than not feel anything and not learn any lessons.”

He nodded his head then grabbed my hand. 

“Come with me then.”

We walked out and he brought me to this room.

“As soon as we walk in here, you are going to go through all of your worst memories all over again. It will feel real and you will feel that pain all over again.”

“Which ones?”

“The ones that hurt the worst.”

I nodded my head. I knew which ones I was about to go through.

“I can’t go through that again.”

“You already have.”

“I know.”

He sighed.

“If you walk in, it’s up to you. But I’m going to leave it up to you.”

He patted my shoulder and left me standing there staring at the door. I grabbed the handle and walked in. I was in my old bedroom and I was packing my bags. This was the night that I tried to run away. I was on facetime with my supposed friend on my computer and he was talking me through everything. 

I walked out of my room and grabbed my things then I walked out of my room and went outside. I watched myself park everything into my moms car, I stole it. I shook my head.

“You stupid, hurt girl. Why did you let him convince you to leave?”

I watched myself from two years ago. I started crying because of the emotions that I was going through. Remembering the letter that I wrote my brother, remembering what I went through when I was trying to leave, I felt that pain. When I went to my knees, I went to James’ house and it was the day that he beat me to a pulp. I felt him hitting me, kicking my ribs in, slamming me against my bed and the wall. 

The way that I screamed for him to stop because he was hurting me. He didn’t assault me, but he did worse. This was the day that I decided that he was no longer my father. The day that I was finally done and wanted him out of my life. I watched him slap me around then he walked out. 

I closed my eyes and when I opened them, I was back in my bedroom and I was fighting with my mom. They caught me sneaking in from having s*x with a guy. They were yelling at me and made me pack my bag. I shook my head as I watched my mom slap me and call me a w***e and an embarrassment. This was the day that ended our relationship. 

She kept yelling at me while I remained silent. I didn’t want to say anything back to her and I also didn’t want to make things worse. This was a few weeks before I decided to run away. I kept packing then I turned around. I went back to the bed and it was the night that I got caught with a phone. 

My friend gave me one to keep contact with them but someone told my mom that I had one and they searched my room. It was the day after my moms birthday. I started sobbing even harder because I knew what was about to come up next.

The day that I was caught with Snap-chat and got into a fight with my mom. She slapped me around for a while and gave me a concussion. The night that ruined almost a year of progress and rebuilding. I was only caught because I was on the phone while I was taking a shower. I started sobbing even more because of the memory of my mother, my father, my past, everything. It hit me and made everything hurt. It stopped then the doors opened. Kyree came in and moved me off of the floor and onto his lap.

“Breathe.”

“It hurts!”

“I know, baby.”

“You don’t know anything. I haven’ told you or shown you or nothing! I keep it locked away and let it slowly kill me.”

“Then talk to me Tori!”

I shook my head then he helped me to my feet.

“Tell me when you’re ready. Until then, use this pain that you have to help you help people.”

I nodded my head then he held my face. He looked me in my eyes and just stared at me.

“I love you Tori. But you need to love yourself.”

I nodded my head while he looked me in the eyes.

“I’m going to work on it. But don’t leave me, please.”

“I will never leave you unless you force me to. I’ll always be here.”

I nodded my head then he kissed my forehead. He wrapped his arms around me and just held me. 

“Let’s go to the room. I’ll bring you some food.”

“No, I need to go train.”

“Baby, take it easy.”

“No, I need to get to training. It’ll help me.”

He nodded his head then we went to the room. I put on my red and black uniform and he put on his blue one. We separated then started training. I went to the shooting range and started shooting the different targets. I went to the 3-D training room and set it at medium difficulty. 

I fired at the 3-D versions of the creatures and I made every head shot. It started getting harder and I was confused. I was almost attacked by one of the fake creatures before I shot it in the head. I looked at the door and saw Aby standing there.

“Why did you do that?”

“You didn’t challenge yourself.”

“I wanted to get into the groove of it. I haven’t used this thing before and I didn’t want to hurt myself.”

“I could tell. Keep going.”

I nodded my head then I grabbed a knife that was attached to a rope. I looked at him and he nodded his head. He started the test and I started swinging the rope. The first one came directly at me so I swung it under my arm and hit it in the stomach, pulled back, built speed, then hit it in the head. 

I hit the other ten other targets then he turned off the test. I looked at him then he opened the door.

“You know how to use your weapons.”

“I was taught by James, my step dad, and my brother how to use some of these. Hunter has always been obsessed with knives and fire which has helped him in the long run.”

Aby nodded his head then we went to the training room. I wrapped my fists and started punching the bag. He told me routines that he wanted to see me do and I eventually got in the rhythm. We kept training for a few hours before I was out of breath.

“Go for a run then you're done for the day.”

“How far?”

“You decide. Clear your mind, run through the woods.”

I nodded my head then I went outside. I stretched then I started jogging outside. I went into the woods and started running through, jumping over logs and listening to the leaves crush under my feet. I kept running, then I felt something in me come alive. I let it take over then I started running twice as fast. 

I could hear everything and I could smell everything. I saw everything and it was easier to get through the woods. I kept going then I stopped in my tracks. I could smell someone else and they were familiar. I ran towards it and it was Armani with another one of the wolves that was already advanced. They looked at me and I saw Mani smile.

“You unlocked her.”

“I can feel her. She’s excited right now.”

“You know that you can talk to her, right? Clear your head and let her take over completely.”

I nodded my head then sat down. I closed my eyes and cleared my head. All I thought about was her.

Tori.

Who are you?

Faith, they already told you that I was going to have your middle name.

You’ve taken over before, haven’t you?

Yes I have but those were times that you needed me to. Because you would have regretted those things but me, I don’t.

I nodded my head.

Tell me how all of this works.

Girl, I am you. Everything that you know is what I know.

Is Kyree our mate?

Is that even a question? Yes! O-M-G and his wolf is so hot too. 

You have seen his wolf?

Yeah, and his wolf has seen me. Everytime the two of you have one of your moments, we take over and believe me, you do not regret that now do you?

I started laughing.

No, I don’t. But at the same time, I want you to come out all the way.

You mean shift? That only happens when we become an official Alpha. When we have our pack and everything, that’s when we will shift for the first time with everyone.

Okay, that doesn’t sound too bad. 

I know. Now let’s get back to Kyree and his wolf because I miss them and I know that you do too.

I chuckled then opened my eyes. I saw Mani sitting there with me and the other guy was gone.

“How was your first conversation with her?”

“It was good. She’s a lot.”

“So are you.”

We started laughing then walked back to the base.

“When are we going to shift?”

“In about a week or so. By that time we will have enough wolves to form three packs.”

I rolled my eyes.

“Is Cole even enough to be an Alpha?”

“Don’t say stuff like that.”

“How about this, has Cole done anything for the beings here? Has he put any effort into helping or has he been using his title to sleep with witches and wolves?”

He looked away and snickered.

“You’re right but he’s still an Alpha.”

“Then I’ll challenge him. I’ll take his rights away as an Alpha and make it so he is ineligible to be an Alpha.”

“Why?”

“Because he’s not fit and we both know it. He’s going to ruin those wolves' reputations and ruin what you and The Elders have created here.”

“It’s not our call.”

“Then let’s bring it to The Elders. We have a sway on them.”

“It’s not right Tori. Think about it.”

“You think I haven’t. You know what one of the first things Cole did when he first met me?”

“Hmm?”

“He belittled me and tried making me feel small because I’m a woman. Then when I beat his ass, he went around and called me names like we are in a high school and tried turning wolves against me.”

He shook his head.

“I heard him, Mani. He wants power and sex.”

“And what do you want? What do you want out of this? Power? To show everyone who has power around here?”

“No! I want to help them!”

“How Tori?!”
