Doomsday

Strength.

I stared at him for a second.

“I don’t know.”

He rolled his eyes then rubbed his face.

“That’s the problem. You’re trying to be a hero but it’s not needed.”

“Not needed? AmI the only person that remembers Blackwell at this point?”

He looked away.

“That’s not what I mean. I’m saying that you’re doing too much and all you’re doing is stressing yourself out trying to save the world when it’s not your responsibility. You are a soldier, not a leader.”

“A soldier that’s a hybrid, descendant to an Elder, and is an Alpha? Sure, then I’m one hell of a powerhouse and soldier.”

“You need to understand that you are not our only source of strength. You haven’t seen any of the others training because you’re always doing you own thing.”

“I want to train with them but Aby said that I could hurt someone.”

He shook his head.

“I’m taking you into the field with me and we will see how you do. If you do well, you no longer have to train with the trainees, you will be training with the hunters.”

“You’re a hunter?”

“Yes.”

I nodded my head.

“When?”

“The next clean up is in three days.”

I nodded my head then he opened the door for me.

“Think about it. I’m going to go talk to Kyree next because we have him in our scope. He’s strong, fast, he knows how to use weapons, he’s a great healer, and he’s gentle too.”

I nodded my head.

“The thing is, he’s going to be working with women and you’re going to be working with men. You two cannot work together on everything all the time.”

“That won’t be an issue.”

“Are you sure? I know that the two of you are mates and I know that since you haven’t marked each other-”

“What’s that?”

“Making is your wolf officially claiming the other as yours. Once you have the mark, it shows everyone else that you’re already mated and off limits.”

I looked away.

“Tori, it’s a simple process but you have to be completely sure that you two want this and are ready.”

“We are. I know we are.”

He nodded his head then told me how to do it. He showed me how to mark but didn’t mark me. I walked away and went to my room and Kyree had just gotten out of the shower. I walked up to him and gave him a kiss.

“How was training?”

“It went good. What about you mamas?”

I smirked.

“It was good. I have something to tell you.”

He nodded at me then grabbed a pair of sweats to change into. 

“We are going to be brought out into the field with the hunters. If we do well, we are going to become hunters instead of trainees.”

“That’s good.”

“We are going to be separated because of our skill sets and will be training with others. Meaning that you are going to be around other girls and I’m going to be around other guys.”

“Well we trust each other so I’m not worried about anything.”

“I trust you and I’m not worried either. But there is a way to tell others that we are taken.”

He stood up straight.

“Tori, I know that I said that I love you, but we are not getting married. It’s too-”

I started dying laughing.

“What?”

“It’s called marking. It’s a mating thing and it’s where we leave our wolves' mark on each other to show others,” I walked up to him and ran my hands over his back. “That we are taken for life.”

He looked at me then smirked. 

“And how does this work?”

“We let our wolves take over completely. You remember when we were in the shower and you were rough and kept biting me?”

He chuckled then bit his lip.

“That was him taking over?”

“Yep.”

He grabbed my hips and made me get even closer to him.

“How do I let him do it again?”

“When you feel him start to, let him. Let him take over and-”

His eyes turned black and I could tell that he already let him take over.

“Amare.”

“No fun.”

I felt Faith start going crazy so I let her take over too. He picked me up and slammed me against the wall. The kiss was headed and passionate. His kisses led down my neck and I felt his teeth against my neck.

“Do it, please.”

He sank his teeth into my neck and I screamed out in pain and pleasure. He brought me over to the bed.

“Your turn.”

I rolled us over so I was on top of him. I started kissing his neck and I felt my teeth sharpen. I sank them into his neck and he bled a little. He groaned but I could tell he liked it. He rolled me over so I was back on the bottom and he took my pants off. 

Once we were no longer dressed, he started choking me as he thrusted hard and fast into me, making me scream out more. He pulled out and I rolled over so we could do backshots. He slapped my ass hard then I moaned. He put it in then slammed my hips back as he thrusted deeply into me.

“How rough can I get?”

“Until I tell you to stop or until you think I’ve had enough.”

He chuckled then started railing me from the back as I screamed his name. He slapped my ass one last time before pulling out. I rolled over and he came in my mouth then laid down. We were both out of breath and I fell asleep. 

“Mamas.”

I groaned then rolled over. I looked at him and remembered everything. 

“Wow.”

He chuckled.

“I f****d you to sleep.”

“I know.”

He wrapped the blanket around my naked torso and kissed me.

“We have to get-”

He looked at my neck and he smirked.

“What is it?”

“Your mark, it’s beautiful.”

I got up and walked over to the mirror. It was a tree branch with flowers falling off of it wrapping around my shoulder and on my neck. Kyree stood behind me and his was the same branch but with three crows. We stood there for a moment just staring at each other's mark.

“I think it’s time to go for breakfast.”

I started laughing then got in the shower. Once I got out, he got in and I started getting dressed then there was a knock at the door. I opened it and it was Mani.

“Holy shit.”

He stared at it then I turned around. He studied mine for a moment.

“That looks beautiful.”

“You didn’t tell me it turns into a tattoo.”

“I wanted it to be a surprise.”

I chuckled then Kyree got out of the shower.

“Babe, Mani is here so come out dressed.”

“Okay.”

Mani chuckled.

“He’s not going to ask why I’m here?”

“Later.”

We started laughing then Ky came out with his pants on and his shirt in his hands to show off his mark.

“Damn Ky, yours looks awesome.”

He chuckled then kissed my forehead.

“What’s up?”

“I assume that Tori told you that we are going to take the two of you out into the field?”

“Yep.”

“Well that’s going to be sooner than we thought. We are leaving later in the afternoon today so It’s good that you marked each other now.”

I nodded my head.

“Should we pack now?”

“Not just yet. We are leaving for a few days because we have to be back for the Alpha swearing.”

“Can’t we do that next month? We have a lot going on right now and I think that this swearing is stressing everyone out plus we don’t have enough wolves to have packs.”

He nodded his head.

“The battle-”

“Won’t happen again. Kyree and I are strong Alphas and Cole is power hungry. He knows that if he waits, he will have all the power he wants.”

Mani chuckled then nodded his head.

“Well you do have good points and luckily the full moon after this one is a blue moon so everything works out even better.”

I nodded my head.

“We leave today and will come back next week.”

“Sounds good. Now we are going to get some food.”

We walked out of the room and started walking towards the cafeteria. Once we got there, people were staring at the three of us because of our marks. We got in line and one of the wolves looked at us.

“Did it hurt?”

“Yes and no? I think that it felt good more than hurt.”

He nodded his head.

“How sure are you two that you’re mates?”

“Not a doubt in either of our minds.”

He nodded his head then we all got our food. I sat down with Kyree and Hunter sat with us.

“So, nice tattoos.”

“It’s a mark. Meaning that we are off limits to all of the other wolves.”

He nodded his head then we ate our breakfast.

“Hey, we are leaving for a little while to go out into the field and help people. Just stick with the Elders or make some friends.”

“I already have. I ditched them to come eat with the two of you.”

I chuckled.

“My bad Mr, popular.”

He laughed.

“Where are you going?”

“We are going out and taking out some more of the creatures. We are going to save some more people and supernaturals.”

He nodded his head.

“You go out there and show them who my sister is.”

We stood up and I gave him a hug. 

“Come back alive and not in a bag. Both of you.”

Kyree got up and gave him a hug too. We put our trays up and packed our bags. I strapped my gun holster to my shoulder and the other to my thigh. I put my guns in each of them then I started tucking knives in different places in my pants. I grabbed my bag and looked at Kyree.

“Ready?”

“As I’ll ever be.”

We walked out of the room and started jogging to the plane. As soon as we got there, I saw four other people there. 

“There they are.”

We put our bags away and took our seats. I saw one of the female wolves eyeing Ky so I made him turn his head to show off his mark. Once she saw our matching marks, she looked disappointed. The plane took off and we were in the air. I looked over at Daniel.

“Where are we going?”

“Around Wisconsin.”

“Okay.”

It was going to be a couple hour ride there so I sat back in my seat. One of the girls unbuckled her seat and scoffed then got up. She walked over to Daniel and whispered something then walked to a different area of the plane. He rested his elbows on his knees then looked at me. He nodded, then I followed him to the room too.

Once the three of us were in there, he shut the door.

“What’s wrong?”

“How long ago did you mark each other?”

“Over twelve hours?”

“Did you have s*x?”

I stared at him.

“Answer.”

“Yes, we did.”

He slapped the table.

“What’s the big deal?”

“You’re going to be in heat.”

I stared at him.

“No, no this cannot be happening.”

“I could smell it. That’s why I called the two of you in here.”

“The only way to get rid of it is if Kyree helps.”

I rolled my eyes then he opened the door.

“Ky we need you.”

Kyree came to the room and looked at me.

“What’s wrong?”

“She’s in heat and all of the wolves can smell it.”

He sighed.

“Damn, I thought it would hold you over longer.”

They left the room and Daniel smirked at us.

“Have fun kids, don’t break anything.”

I went to hit him but he shut the door. Ky started undoing his pants and I looked at him.

“I don’t feel anything.”

“Tori, I can feel it off of you.”

“That doesn’t make sense. How can everyone but me tell that I’m in heat?”

He shrugged his shoulders then came up to me. 

“We have to be quiet though.”

He undid my pants then turned me around. He put it in then covered my mouth. He was rough and didn’t hold back the whole time. He bent me over the table then I felt him pull out.

“Down.”

I got on my knees and started sucking. After a few minutes, he came in my mouth then we rushed to get dressed. We finished getting dressed then went back to the seating. The girl gave me a look and I nodded my head.

“Okay everyone, we are landing in thirty minutes to grab your things and prepare to jump off.”

I nodded my head then grabbed my bag then I felt a hand on my arm. I turned and saw one of the males.

“Being in heat is dangerous.”

“I can control it.”

“It’s going to attract the creatures.”

“All it’s attracting is a horny dog.”

I pushed past him and the girls started laughing hysterically. One of themwalked up to me.

“That was gold.”

“He was trying to mansplain it so I checked him.”

She laughed even hard.

“Maria.”

“Tori.”

“So you’re the hybrid we have heard so much about.”

That caught the attention of everyone else. 

“Yeah but it doesn’t mean anything besides that I can help people using the powers of two.”

“Didn’t you beat the s**t out of the other Alpha?”

“He was being a d**k, I had to show him to keep his mouth shut when it comes to me.”

They laughed then we all sat down. We started declining, then I grabbed my gun and got ready to get off the plane. Once the door opened, Daniel signaled for us to get off and we got off in an order. We started walking through the town that we were dropped off in and didn’t see anything.

“Tori, block.”

I put up my wall then Daniel and a different guy started shooting energy at me.

“What was that for?”

“You’re going to need it.”

I looked confused then I saw what they were talking about.

“Take the lead. You have to prove to us that you are stong enough to join the hunters.”

I nodded my head.

“Ky?”

“He gets his own test.”

I nodded my head then I pulled out my rope dagger and applied energy to it, so it could fly faster and hit harder. The creatures growled at me so I let the energy take over. I hit two with the rope and killed both. The other two started coming after me faster and the one in front I shot with my gun then the other one got closer. It started getting close and I could tell that it was scared.

“Down.”

It stopped dead in its tracks and stared at me. I got close to it and got on top of a car. I looked it dead in its eyes.

“Come.”

It got close to me and I touched its head. As soon as I touched it, I filled it with energy and left it sitting there, slowly getting electrocuted. I walked back to the group and looked Daniel in the eyes.

“Enough for you?”

I walked away from the group and headed towards the center of the town. I could feel someone’s energy so I signaled to the building it was coming from. One of the male wolves went with me and we swept the whole place. We found one of the creatures eating something so he killed it. We were walking out and I could tell he wanted to say something.

“What is it?”

“How can you control them?”

“Since I’m a hybrid I can communicate with everything. Using my Alpha voice, I can control anyone or anything.”

“Including the Elders?”

“No.”

He nodded his head then we went to the group.

“We swept the whole town. Why don’t we set up for the night and take turns watching shifts.”

I nodded my head with everyone.

“I’ll take the first shift.”

We got to a house and one of the girls started a fire to keep us warm. I watched over everyone as they slept and Daniel got up. He sat with me and sighed.

“You didn’t have to react like that.”

“You tested me.”

“Because you had to prove yourself to the team, not me. I know what you can do, but they don’t.”

I scoffed.

“Let’s not talk about this right now.”

He nodded his head then I looked out the window.

“Why’d you pick me?”

“Because you’re a powerhouse.”

I rolled my eyes.

“I’m serious Tori. You have a lot of power and you have a lot of strength. You can do amazing things and I know it.”

I looked back at him.

“That’s not the real reason and I’m not going to force it out of you. All I’m going to say is that if Kyree gets caught in the crossfires because of it, I’m killing you first.”

He nodded his head.

“Understandable. But he won’t because there is no hidden agenda.”

I chuckled.

“I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.”

He nodded his head then we went back to watching out the window. We sat there for a little while then he woke up two others.

“Your turn.”

They got up and took our spots and I went over to Kyree. I got in his sleeping bag with him and he held me close.

“Everything’s fine. Stop worrying and get some sleep.”

I nodded my head and I fell asleep. I woke up to the sound of someone shuffling. I opened my eyes and saw everyone packing up.

“Thanks for waking us up.”

“I knew you’d hear us.”

I got up and woke Kyree up. We grabbed out things and I grabbed my guns. I checked their clips and saw that I only used three bullets yesterday. We started walking and I saw that we had cleared the whole town yesterday and that we were starting to travel to the highway, to Chicago.

“Why are we going back to Illinois?”

“Because we have a team here and they haven’t been located yet. We are doing a search and rescue.”

I nodded my head and kept walking. I walked with everyone as we walked through the highway, searching cars and trying to find people. We walked for a few hours then Daniel decided it was time for us all to take a break. I opened my bag and took out a few protein bars and a bottle of water. We sat for around ten minutes then we packed up and kept moving. 

We walked for a few more hours then one of the girls started coughing.

“What’s wrong?”

I walked over to her and I started taking away her pain.

“Thank you.”

She gasped for breath then looked at me.

“There’s something coming our way and it’s coming fast.”

“But why did you start coughing like that?”

“I had a vision and this felt real. I felt like I was being strangled.”

I nodded my head.

“We got you, okay?”

She nodded her head and we kept walking. I stayed back with her to calm her nerves down and so I knew that she was okay. I saw Daniel smirk at me and I was confused. We kept walking and as soon as we got to Chicago, I knew that we were in for one hell of a trip. There were buildings that had fallen and there was so much destruction.

“We are going to have to split up in order to search.”

“Daniel, there are only seven of us. There is no way that we can go through all of Chicago in groups and not get killed.”

“You have any better ideas?”

I looked at Kyree.

“Remember the school?”

“Yeah?”

“Why don’t we find the other group that we are searching for. You said that you don’t know where they are but have singled out their location, right?”

“Yeah.”

“Which part of Chicago?”

“Northern.”

“That makes things easier. Chicago is huge Daniel. We have to find the group and search as a unit, not a small group. Let’s divide up, who knows the area?”

A few people raised their hands.

“Okay, pick someone in the group and do a buddy system. There will be one group of three, no one is left behind here.”

“Once we have our groups, split up and start searching. We all have walkie talkies that can reach over a hundred mile radius that don't need towers or a signal.”

We nodded our heads and one of the guys buddied up with me.

“What’s your name?”

“Erik.”

“I’m Tori.”

“I know who you are.”

We chuckled then I saw Kyree with his partner. He’s also with a guy and I smiled at him. 

“You and Kyree are mates?”

“Yeah, we are happy too.”

He nodded his head.

“Mine was killed in the battle.”

“I’m sorry to hear that.”

“He was amazing.”

I smiled and we started jogging to town. We clipped our talkies to our pants and left them on. We walked for about thirty minutes in silence before I sighed.

“Tori, you’re bleeding.”

He looked at my arm and there was a cut on it.

“Damn, I must have knicked it on a piece of metal.”

He opened his bag and went to wrap it.

“Give me something to bite.”

He looked confused then handed me a shirt. I put it in my mouth then burned my wound to stop the bleeding and to kill anything that was there. He wrapped it up in a bandage then tied a bandana around it to keep it tight.

“There.”

“Thanks.”

We kept walking then I saw someone.

“Look up there.”

I pointed and it was a couple of people. We got closer and they looked like they had a uniform on close to ours.

“Sarah?”

“Erik?”

They hugged each other then the rest came up to us.

“What happened?”

“We were ambushed by a group of the creatures in our sleep. I fell asleep while I was on shift.”

“She was awake for three days in her defense.”

He shook his head.

“That doesn’t matter. As long as you’re-”

“Erik, we have company. You get them to safety, I’ll handle the creature.”

“You sure?”

“Hit me a few times.”

I put up my block and he hit me five times. I smirked then took my bag off of my shoulders. I started running towards the creature then I stopped thirty feet from it. I balled up the energy I had left and let it take over me. I felt Faith come up.

Tori you’re weak right now, let me take over so you don’t pass out.

I nodded my head and let her take over. My eyes shifted and I could hear, see, and smell everything better. 

“Down.”

There was an echo to my voice. It got down and I saw it’s fear. I shot the energy at it and it started convulsing and died. I walked back over to the group and was handed my bag.

“I’m Tori.”

“Sarah.”

We shook hands then I grabbed my talkie.

“Guys we found them. We are going to head back to the highway, meet us there. Over.”

“Copy, over.”

The rest checked in and we started walking towards the highway.

“You’re a strong ass witch Tori.”

Erik chuckled.

“She's not just a witch, she’s also an Alpha.”
