Chapter 5: He Doesn't Care About You

At the mention of South City Bill's facial expression changed "I am afraid I have to trouble you" he replied.

Lucas chuckled "what are friends for?" he stood on his feet and walked towards Bill.

He patted his shoulder "I will have to go, I think someone missed me dearly" he said, and headed towards the door.

Lord Derek stood in his office, facing the glass wall, he wore an expressionless face, the sun already set in the bustling city.

The yellow sun shone on him, as it bask on his skin, the door to his office opened, and someone came in.

"Lord Derek, you ask me to come?" the man inquired.

Derek turned around and nodded "do you know Luciana?" he asked

The man, Silas, pondered and his eyes suddenly widen in shock "you mean Lucas mate?" he asked.

The moment Derek nodded, he shuddered, and he rattled his head "I can't do it" he told Derek.

Derek laughed painfully, he never believed Lucas has such power, even the vampires in the City are terrified at the mention of his name.

He put his hands behind him and put up an imposing demeanour "you shouldn't trouble yourself, Lucas doesn't take his mate seriously" he assured Silas.

Silas exhaled in relief and swatted the beads of sweat that formed on his forehead, he had never felt such an intense fear before.

Derek turned around, backing him "just do as I have said" he gave the final order.

Silas nodded and left Derek's office.

headlights shone on Luciana, as she came out of the cafe, she cringed inwardly and looked around, the street is almost deserted.

She strode towards her left and walked for some metres, suddenly, a figure jumped to her front, when she cut into the alley.

"you think you can hide, huh?" the sudden assailant sneered.

Luciana cringed inwardly and stepped back a little, afraid, he grasped her wrist and tightened his fist.

"Aaah!" she moaned in pain, feeling the excruciating pain shooting from her wrist all over her.

Lucas heard a voice and frowned, he headed in the direction and saw that Luciana was in danger.

"Follow me, or I will stab you to death" her assailant threatened, Luciana trembled, but when she saw the figure standing some metres away.

The both of them locked gaze, Lucas's lips moved "weak" she heard his voice in her head.

Luciana's eyes glowed, "let me go!" she roared, and flung her arm, a sudden force lifted her assailant, sending him flying metres away.

He crashed on the wall, Lucas's lips curled up into a smile, and Luciana started beaming, in a blink of an eye, she doesn't see him anymore.

she glanced at her assailant and walked faster, but couldn't see Lucas, she can't even smell his scent again.

Her frown deepened, she lowered her head and started walking, suddenly, a hand grabbed her wrist.

Before she could react, a fist landed on her face.

smack!

She slumped on the concrete street paving, two arms reached her, and dragged her into a dark corner.

Lucas got into his inn around the City centre, he removed the trench coat and the black hat he wore.

Daniel came to him, “I have brought the individuals that you requested for discipline” he informed Lucas.

Lucas waved his hand nonchalantly “you are too slow, not in the mood, just handle the matter” he dismissed the matter.

Daniel's face twitched several times, he wondered why his boss choose an ugly place to retire, instead of a mansion, it took him time to convince the girl to enter the scary-looking inn.

Lucas paused suddenly “book a flight for me, I am going to South City, as soon as possible” he instructed Daniel and pulled the handle of his room door.

“Sir, I am happy we are going to the South City, it has been a long time" Daniel bubbled with joy.

Lucas gazed at him and retracted his gaze, “who said we? I am going alone” he reiterates and shuts the door, before Daniel, who was at the edge of crying.

Lucas lay on his bed until his phone started ringing, he looked out the window and saw that it was almost dawn.

He stretched his palm and grabbed his phone, tapped the green button, “speak, who is this?” he snapped impatiently.

A voice growled from the phone's speaker, “Alpha Lucas, I will trouble you”

Lucas chuckled, “what are friends for, Derek?” he sneered, and pursed his lips tightly.

There was silence at the other “your mate is with me, it is sad you haven't had a bit of her, I will go first Lucas, how about that? Don't worry, I won't have all to myself, I am not stingy”.

The voice mimicked what Lucas usually says, he threw his head backwards and laughed, “Lord Derek, you are too kind, why bother to tell me such a simple matter?”

“But, if you can make it here in time, I will hand her over to you” he responded curtly and ended the call.

Lucas shook his head, and lay back on the bed, shutting his eyes.

Meters away from the City, Derek stood with his lackeys, who all crowded around him, “do you think he will come?” one of his lackeys inquired curiously.

Derek glanced at Luciana, who was bonded to a table, “if he doesn't, then he is a coward. I am going to have his mate” he said and his eyes flickered.

The people around didn't say anything, they waited patiently for Lucas, and the sun began to rise in the sky.

Derek became impatient, he glanced at Luciana's face “it seems, he doesn't care about you, rip her skirt, I will go first, and others will follow” he gave the order.

His lackeys have been rearing for this order for a long time, and all of them seeing the tied-up beauty have lecherous thoughts.

Just then, Luciana's eyes glowed, Derek's face darkened, and he looked towards the entrance of the warehouse.

Sunlight shone from outside, and a shadow cast on the floor, Lucas stood there, with an expressionless face.

With his hands behind him, he started walking in their direction.

“Get him” Derek sent the four vampires around him.

Their canines elongated, and with gusts of winds, they darted towards Lucas.

But, Derek's facial expression changed, and his eyes bulged.

Only by swatting his arm, does Lucas send all of them flying out of his way.

His hands returned to his back, “lousy vampires, Derek, tsk! tsk! Are these the only vampires that could submit to you?” he asked, with a mocking tone.

Derek gritted his teeth, his face was ashen, he didn't believe that his first strike is useless, “you think you are mighty, Lucas?” he sneered.

“We are friends” Lucas snorted, with a playful smile.

Derek's face was covered with a dark shade, he opened and closed his mouth “although, I am the benefiting partner, you don't have to go this extreme bro, don't you remember bro over hoe?”

Derek's face became gloomier “you killed my father, and you are busy saying such nonsense, I am going to kill you today, and avenge the death of my father” he hollered.

Lucas stopped approaching him, and stood still, a burning fire-like circle rounded his legs, Luciana became worried.

But Lucas stood calmly amid the fire “you even invited a witch interesting” he said, and stood there without making any move.

A middle-aged woman with a fireball in her palm came out of her hiding, Derek became thrilled, he laughed insanely before he glared at Lucas with killing intent.

“Today, I will kill you, and use your blood to appease my father's grave” he declared provocatively.

Lucas leisurely checked his watch “I have a flight to catch, thirty minutes from now, I will play with you next time, Derek,

prepare a few chicks, similar to the one you gave me a few days ago” he requested and revealed the row of white teeth in his mouth.

He waved his hand, and the fire went off, even the one in the witch's hand burnt out.

Derek's body trembled “what… wh…at, how did this happen?” he stuttered, he knew witches are the bane of werewolves, they could restrict them, but.

He looked at Lucas with an indescribable facial expression, but Lucas didn't bother about him, he glanced at the witch “I hope you have a pretty daughter, I like them busty” he said and winked.

“Pervert!” the witch spat out with a low voice.

She cast another spell, “why do you bother? It doesn't work on me”.

Lucas told her, broke the chains with his hand, and freed Luciana, whose whole body is aching.

“Mate!” his wolf reared happily when he held Luciana in his hands.

She stared at his handsome face, while Lucas carried her out of the warehouse.

Derek stood there, burning in rage, even the witch was surprised, that Lucas doesn't take the two of them seriously.

Daniel pulled over, but Luciana remained in his arms, staring at his handsome face, Lucas lowered his eyes “haven't you seen enough? Or, do you want us to trek to the City like this?” he teased.

His words made Luciana flush, he put her down and turned around to leave. Mark, his driver has already brought another car to drive him to the airport.

Luciana's lips moved, and she used telepathic means to communicate, “thank you,” she said with her head lowered.

Lucas had barely made three footsteps when the words rang in his head, he turned around and his lips curled up into a smile before driving away with Mark.

Daniel came out, he wondered why Luciana is still standing there staring in the direction of the moving car.

"Let's go” he urged her, and got into the car, Luciana later joined.

And he drove out, while on their way, he glanced at Luciana “do you love him?” he felt like slapping himself for the stupid question.

Luciana nodded, she doesn't even know how she feel for him, probably the bond between them, she frowned because he had not marked her, but they are mates.

“He loves you too,” Daniel said, Luciana looked at him with an askance look.

Daniel was stunned, he nearly ran into a mishap on the way, before he stepped on the brake, “damn you! Bastard!” a man with big chains around his neck cursed, he was the one Daniel might have hit.

Luciana's breath quickened, she was scared, Daniel chuckled, he had the feeling that the lady beside him is strange.

He drove her quietly, until they reached her apartment, “stay safe” he told her.

She nodded, and alighted from the car, she barely had gotten into her apartment, when her phone rang, she took it out and saw that it was the Cafe manager.

She frowned and pressed the answer button looking worried “Luciana, you don't have to come to work, rest for the day” she heard the manager say.

A confused look etched on her face, even when the beeping sound sounded in her eardrum, she didn't move the phone from her ear.

She glanced at the car Daniel brought her with, he had already driven “leave the way!” a man roared angrily, and shoved her aside.

Luciana lowered her head and headed to her apartment, she saw the man who have looked for trouble with her, standing at the next door, and he glanced at Luciana who is opening her door.

He started having lustful thoughts, he licked his lower lip and gawked at her “I do apologize for being rude then, hope you won't get angry” he pleaded with a pretentious smile.

Luciana slightly nodded and got into her house, the man's eyes flickered, he entered his and came out later with a bottle of wine.

He knocked at the door Luciana stayed, minutes later, she opened it and saw her neighbour standing there.

Luciana was wearing an armless shirt that exposed her cleavage, the man looked at her lecherously, his eyes glued on her cleavage, and his emotion run wild.

Luciana subconsciously covered her exposed cleavage, “what do you want?” she forced out the words.

The man grinned “I am deeply sorry, have this wine, this is a token to show that I am sincere” he stretched his hand.

“I don't want it” Luciana rejected it, and the man's face darkened.
