----- Raina's pov -----
As I continued walking towards Rollin, I could feel the curious yet frightened stares from all over the room. I could, also, feel a certain someone looking at what looked like my backside when I noticed a tingling sensation on my back. That man is fearless. I moved my right hand behind my back and signaled that curious someone to move his eyes up feeling my body getting hotter.
I then locked my eyes on Rollin and with a movement of my left arm upwards I choked him while he slowly rose up in the air.
'Now let me tell you a story dear Rollin, about a little white-haired girl born during a solar eclipse.' I told him as I increased my voice for everyone to listen.
Rollin and his pack suddenly widened their eyes in surprise.
'You see.. That girl and I have a very interesting connection.' I said grinning, looking at Rollin trying to get himself free from an invisible hand choking him mid-air.
'That girl is me Rollin and I've dreamed of this day ever since I left your pathetic Midnight pack.'
Rollin's packmates tried to move towards me but were caught between my Lightclaw's werewolves arms. They were useless in helping their Alpha, especially in foreign territory. Helpless like I felt during the worst night of my life.
'I'm well known about showing mercy. But I would like to know one reason why I should now, and not pull your guts out from your mouth.' I said with a cold dangerous tone as Rollin violently hit the floor when I placed my arm back down next to my waist.
'P-Pleas-e. R-Raina?' Rollin said as he coughed and tried to catch his breath, 'That was.. s-s-so l-long ago. It's a pity to to s-still hold grudges-s. We need to be u.. united'.
'Pathetic' I heard Accalia in my mind.
'The Lightclaw pack was and still is united. We help other packs in need, and we do not tolerate injustices. We even helped you a couple of times. We protect the innocent humans, and we show dignity. Did you show dignity or even the slightest form of respect to our Alpha when she was the most vulnerable?' I heard Hyde saying with a loud voice.
He could no longer hide his anger as he saw the Midnight pack looking scared. My pack mates started growling and their eyes were full of hatred. They might not know the full story behind my tortures but they did know about the mistreatment I experienced from Rollin's father, him, and his sisters.
'I'm not a judge. I'm not the one to feel high and almighty. I, too, am a child of the Mood Goddess like all of you.' I said as I tried to look everyone in the room. I then turned to Rollin.
'This was a warning Rollin that the Lightclaw pack never forgets. You can participate in the festival but do not expect me to greet you with respect. You did not show any respect to me either. Your apology came earlier than I expected but still... I don't accept it' I said and it felt like the room's temperature lowered. I leaned closer to his ear whispering. 'Your pack will pay. But not today. You will wait in agony and fear for the moment I decide to end you.'
Everyone was shocked with the revelation of me being a Lycan. I stood up and walked away from Rollin who was still on the floor.
'The Lightclaw pack does not need a Beta. We simply got bored and thought having one from another pack would be interesting. Maybe my Gamma can also find himself a mate!' I said as I let out a laugh and the guests started smiling again.
'Now, I must apologize for ruining the feast's mood.' I said as I looked at Conan to uplift our guests spirits.
'Follow me to the dining room please. The food is about to be served!' Conan exclaimed and slowly several shocked werewolves followed Conan as Rollin tried to get up from the floor. Not a single packmate of his helped him as they stormed out of my house.
'You are of course welcome to join us Rollin. I'm just not sure if you can enjoy your food with a sore throat' I said to him as I turned my back and walked towards that handsome werewolf I saw earlier. Rollin stood up and I knew he was looking at me with eyes full of hatred. He then left from the mansion behind his pack too embarrassed to face anyone at dinner. I approached a dumbfounded werewolf in the hopes of easing his shock.
'I apologize for witnessing such an embarrassment.' I said with a serious tone to Kieran as he stared in my now pitch-black eyes since Accalia went back in my mind. He looked.. cute.
'I think I should be thanking you for teaching that scumbag a lesson. Even though I preferred to be the one in case you got your hands dirty.. ' Kieran answered as he smiled at me. 'If I may, you look exquisite. The color of blood suits you' Kieran continued as his eyes shined.
'He sounds sincere, Raina...' Accalia said, and I instantly agreed with surprise.
'Thank you for your compliment Alpha Kieran. My wolf seems to have taken a liking of you. That's a first!' I said as I slightly bowed my head down smiling to show my respect.
'I'm sorry but I don't recall having heard your name?' Kieran said to me.
'That's because I haven't properly introduced. I'm Raina and I guess now you know that I'm the Alpha of the Lightclaw pack' I said and stood next to him with pride. I felt a certain satisfaction telling that out loud.
'Raina as in queen? I see. A fitting name for you. Please call me Kieran.' he said as he also bowed down to me. Handsome and smart. He knows Latin I see..
'So, Kieran', I said as I started walking towards the dining room, 'would you like to join me at my table? Or do you still prefer to look at my back?' I asked hoping that Kieran would not be frightened by my previous actions.
'I do not think I can refuse to a queen's demand.' he smiled and followed me at the end of the room where the Lightclaw's table was. He did not dare to look down my back this time. Behind Kieran, his pack followed and it seems like they were alert of any female in the room. How strange.
The Lightclaw pack were, also, cautious of other males in the room as they too followed me to our table. I sat in the middle of the table and Kieran sat to my left side. Shortly after the servants started serving everyone food and the dining's room mood started to feel more pleasant. I felt the stares of several she-wolves and let out a little laugh. It seems like I'm going to get myself in more trouble.
'A penny for your thoughts. Or more like your jokes?' Kieran said as he turned to look at me puzzled.
'I see you are quite famous among the women here.' I said as I turned around and looked him in the eyes. His grey eyes could mistakenly be perceived as lifeless, but I noticed the tiny green lines all around his irises.
'If you stare a bit more, they might eat you alive' Accalia said playfully to me.
'I wouldn't say so. They can stare but I'm not interested.' Kieran said and cursed himself for making Raina feel uncomfortable. 'I do not have a mate yet. They might mistake me as an open buffet. And please.. No need to be formal. Kieran is just fine coming out of your lips.' he hesitantly said trying not to sound arrogant.
'Oh, I see. So that's why they see me as threat to them huh?' I laughed again. 'I do not have a mate either.. Kieran. That's not something to be ashamed of' I said turning my tone into a more serious one. 'But if you did spend some time with some of them I can understand why they feel envious of me. I 'm not going to steal you from them.' I said as I looked at him trying to understand if I was right about him being involved with any of the she-wolves here.
'I don't think that it has anything to do with me. After your previous show off I think they see you as a threat with or without me.' Kieran said trying to distract me from the mate topic and switch the conversation.
'I told you the right one would know about your adventures with others. You are so shameful.' Trion said in Kieran's mind scolding him. The right one..
'I shouldn't have done that.' I continued seeing Kieran hesitant. 'My intentions were not to start this night on such a note. My wolf was upset, and I did not control my feelings either.' I said as I looked down. It's true that me and Accalia got angry and tried to control ourselves. 'Rollin and me have quite a history. He took everything for me yet he dared to still walk around like nothing happened.'
'Are you stupid or are you trying to ruin her mood on purpose?!' Trion growl inside Kieran's mind. He then noticed a white barely noticeable X scar on Raina's left cheek and wondered what this woman had been through to get so upset by an ass hole like Rollin.
'I did not mean that in a bad way. I'm sorry I was not clear.' Kieran said as he tried to get me to look at him. He then lifted his arm to touch my cheek but he heard a low growl from the table and immediately stopped.
'Don't get over-excited Kieran. She is not like your other she-wolves.' Trion said as he understood that the Lightclaw pack was staring at his hand. He lowered his hand in the hopes of not offending them more.
I felt his subtle action. He was kinda cute to be honest. I forgot about the scar on my cheek. I wanted to tattoo something on top of it but due to it being placed on my face I wanted to be sure of what I wanted. I sensed my packmates aura getting cold and I understood how they felt. Nobody touched me more than a simple handshake, They were cautious. I saw Kieran getting uncomfortable.
'It's okay. No offense taken, but I'm afraid I must take my leave here.' I said and smiled at him.
'You're leaving so early?' Kieran asked and I sensed a hint of disappointment in his tone.
'My wolf is itching for a run and I cannot blame her. I wish you a pleasant night and I hope I will see you tomorrow at the festival. Give my regards to your pack. I truly expect the best from the Crescent Moon pack.' I continued as I stood up.
'Can I join you?' Kieran said with confidence but I spotted a slight sadness in his words.
'We will have plenty of opportunities. I hope. I wouldn't want to take the opportunity of your relaxation before the festival. Please enjoy your evening' I said as I smiled to him, shutting him down.
'Have a nice run then, Raina.' Kieran said before I left.
I walked out of the dining room and headed for the garden. I took off my high heels and slowly reached the end of the garden where the trees of the forest started to become denser. I then took off her dress and placed it near a tree. In a moment, a bone cracking sound started echoing in the forest. I shifted and Accalia howled in the night. Her pure white fur could be mistaken as silver under the moonlight.
'You were itching so much for this. Let's go' I said as Accalia started slowly pacing in the forest as she increased her speed. She started running fast and if anyone was to witness it, all they could see was a white-like stripe drifting through the forest. She started slowing down when we approach a cliff and stood at the end. This place was so peaceful. The waves crashed on the cliff and the breeze, even though it was cold, it drifted through Accalia's fur. The smell of the sea always relaxed us both.
'That Kieran guy seems interesting' Accalia said breaking their silence. 'I could feel our body getting warmer.'
'I don't know Accalia. But his smell. His looks. Those eyes..' I whispered remembering the tingling sensation I felt on my back.
'But he should know when to step down. We did not need his help with Rollin. And why did I feel like he was about to touch you?!' Accalia said with a slight annoyance.
'He did not know our nature Accalia. Don't be so strict with him.' I said remembering that again my ugly scar on my cheek. 'Maybe he was curious about my scar' I said.
'Already taking his side I see..' Accalia said playfully.
When we decided to go back to the mansion a scent of vanilla and a hint of cinnamon went through her nostrils. She instantly turned around but saw nothing than the trees. The scent was no longer there. 'Maybe we were wrong' I said as Accalia started pacing towards the forest and the mansion.
