Cass puts his arms around Adrian and hugs him. Cass looks up at me and I can only see one thing in his eyes. Regret. I know that he regrets leaving me. Adrian pulls back. “Mommy said that you were on an important mission but why didn’t you come home earlier?” Adrian asks Cass. Cass looks at him. “I couldn’t and I am sorry about that.” Cass replies.
“I heard mommy crying a lot in her room at night. She think that I don’t know but I do. Was that because of you daddy?” Adrian asks. Adrian is only two years old but he is already wise for his age.
