After Serge left Saint-Savin, he took the route to the farm. He knows a shortcut that brings him to the farm much quicker than if he took the normal route. He is apprehensive to go back to the farm especially when his grandmother is not there. He can’t stand to be on the farm alone. There are too many bad memories. But he needs to do this for her.
