Liam’s grip tightened around the gun, his finger hovering over the trigger. His body was a shield in front of Mia, blocking her from Adrian’s sight.
“Mia,” Adrian’s voice dripped with amusement, but there was an edge to it. “Open the door, love. Let’s not make this messy.”
Mia’s nails dug into Liam’s arm. Her breath came out in sharp, shallow bursts. They were trapped.
Liam’s eyes flicked to her, his mind racing. They needed a way out—fast.
Then—the doorknob rattled.
