Iwaoi
-An AU where Oikawa gave
Iwaizumi, his best friend,
a pop ring and proposed to his
best friend.
“Iwa-chan!” a high voice screeched. Iwaizumi, age 8, turned around upon hearing the nickname his best friend gave him. With raised brows, Iwaizumi looked at the panting boy in front him. “What is it, Kawa?” Iwaizumi asked as he placed the volleyball in his hip and blanaced it. Oikawa faced his best friend aftef catching up from his breathe. “Guess what?!” he exclaimed.
Iwaizumi winced at the boy's yelling. “No need to be loud Oikawa, and what is it?” he said. Pikawa gave him a bright smile before shoving his small hand to his pocket. His tounge sticking out while he tried to look for the thing he wanted to give to Iwaizumi. His eyes was filled with stars as he finally found the thing.
“Ta-da!” says the over-enthusiastic Oikawa. Iwaizumi squinted his eyes as he moved closer to Oikawa's hands to check the thing that Oikawa was excited to show him. “A pop ring?” Iwaizumi asked in disbelief, scoffing at his friend's childishness. “Yeah! A pop ring! Isn't it cool?!” Says Oikawa who's practically jumping up and down.
“Yeah it is. But what are you gonna do with it?” says the shorter boy. Oikawa grabbed Iwaizumi's hands which caused the boy to go in defensive mode. “Chill out Iwa-chan. Just trust me on this one.” Chuckled Oikawa. Iwaizumi hesitated before letting Oikawa do his thing. “Close your eyes. And no peeking!” The taller boy ordered. Sighing, Iwaizumi nodded and followed his best friend's order.
Oikawa giggled before slipping the pop ring into his best friend's fourth finger. Iwaizumi furrowed his brows she he felt a plastic thing slipping in his fourth finger. 'Just what is Oikawa planning?' He thought to himself. Oikawa grinned when the ring was fully placed in Iwaizumi's fingers.
“You can look now, Iwa-chan” Iwaizumi opened his eyes. His eyes widened as he stared at his fourth finger. Blush rushed through his cheeks and looked at his best friend. “wha-” before he could finish his words, Oikawa spoke. “I'm sorry if it's a bit weird Iwa-Chan but I wanna propose to you so I can marry you.” he said innocently.
Oikawa's words made Iwaizumi's heart skip a beat. Oikawa looked calm saying those words but Iwaizumi caught Oikawa's red cheeks. “But why?” Iwaizumi asked his friend. Oikawa huffed and his his cheeks behind his hand. “Because! Mom said I should marry someone I love and I love you Iwa-Chan! I wanna marry you!” Iwaizumi got even more flustered.
Upon hearing no words coming out from his best friend, Oikawa pouted and put his hands to his side so he can look at his best friend. “I get that you don't want to marry me cause you don't love me.” sadly said Oikawa. “I'll just have the ring back then..” he grumbled and went close to Iwaizumi to get back the ring but Iwaizumi quickly his his hands in his pocket and shouted,
“No!”
The sudden outburst made Oikawa shocked. Iwaizumi looked away with his bottom lip sticking out. He avoided Oikawa's gaze. “I mean- no. I don't want to give it back to you. C-cause I wanna marry you too.” stuttered Iwaizumi. Oikawa's face lit up as he looked at Iwaizumi.
“really?!” Iwaizumi nodded. “I wanna marry you too, but not now! Maybe in the future!” says Iwaizumi shyly. The other boy looked at his friend and c****d his head to the side with a small pout on his lips.
“You promise?”
With a sigh, Iwaizumi nodded and took both his and Oikawa's pinky before connecting them into a pinky promise. “I promise ”
Oikawa grinned and held his best friend's hand. “yeah! In the future!” he exclaimed and skipped towards the field to play volleyball with their friends. Iwaizumi following his best friend, his cheeks still dusted with pink.
“I'm going to marry Iwa-chan in the future!”

“Hajime, please help me, this box is freaking heavy!” A 27 year old Tooru whined. The mentioned male sighed and went to grab the box off from Tooru's hand. Tooru grinned and followed Hajime as they trailed towards the room full of boxes.
Tooru and Hajime went inside the room. Hajime carefully placed the box he was carrying with the other boxes labeled as kitchen stuff while Tooru went to the boxes where their names are labeled. “Hajime, I'm unpacking yours first okay? Mines are already unpacked and only one box is left.” Says Tooru as he grabbed the scissors.
Hajime hummed in response, too busy arranging the boxes. Tooru cuts the tape of the box using the scissor and opened it. He smiled when he saw Hajime's stuff arranged nicely. Picture frames (where their pictures are safely placed), important notebooks stacked neatly, two pencil cases and a small box.
The small box grabbed Tooru's attention making him took out the box and turned around to tell Hajime about it but Hajime was gone. Probably going out to get the other boxes form the moving truck. Tooru shrugged and opened the small box.
His eyes widened and cheeks reddened when he saw the inside of the box. The ring pop. Tooru grinned widely and took the ring out. “Tooru, this is the last box- what are you doing grinning like that?” Hajime said while he placed the box to its group. Hajime walked towards Oikawa who held something in his hands.
“What's that-” Tooru cuts off Hajime with a teasing voice. “Ooh~ Hajime, I didn't know you kept this ring” Hajime's face went red as he took the pop ring off Tooru's hands. “Don't touch that!” he exclaimed.
Tooru chuckled and stood up from the floor. “Why Iwa-chan? Are you flustered that I found out about the ring that you kept which I gave you years ago? Hm?” Tooru teased Hajime. Hajime shook his head and looked away. Hearing his old nickname from Tooru made him even more embarrassed. “n-no” he stuttered.
Tooru smirked, “your face says so otherwise.” Hajime huffed and marched towards the door. “Let's just go unpack! The guys would be here in less than two hours!” he exclaimed. Tooru chuckled and followed his husband out the room.
“Be careful with some of the boxes! I have my Alien figurines there!” Oikawa Tooru, now known as Iwaizumi Tooru, rushed to his husband.
Yes. Husband.
Turns out, Hajime kept his promise to Tooru. He married Tooru and gave him a ring. A golden ring (that was once a pop ring) that tied their love and is now placed on their fourth finger. Who knew that a single pop ring that can be brought in a toy section of the store would be replaced by ring that symbolizes
Promise
Love
And Care?
Well, Hajime did. He waited for years to give Tooru a proper ring. And it was worth the wait when he slipped the ring on Tooru's finger as he tells his wedding vows.
Now that a year has passed, both Hajime and Tooru is happily married and nothing could break them apart.
