Bokuaka
-An AU where Akaashi tells
Bokuto that he's trans.
Should I tell him?
Those words were stuck inside Akaashi's head for about a week now making him loose his calm demeanor. Well, almost. He almost lost his calm demeanor but he managed to get through the week without having too much trouble at school and at volleyball practice. His sets were still as perfect as ever but he would space out here and then. Bokuto, of course, noticed that. Spacing out in the middle of talking and practicing is not Akaashi like.
Akaashi is a very serious type of guy. He wouldn't lose his focus and he would be the one to remind Bokuto about the things he forgot. But this time, Akaashi lost his focus on things especially on the ones he loves doing. Bokuto got worried and decided to confront Akaashi about it, but Akaashi didn't answer his question and told Bokuto not to worry about it.
Of course, Bokuto didn't believe what Akaashi said to him but he didn't force the male to tell him. Bokuto may seem reckless and untrustworthy but he isn't. He's actually the opposite of that. He respect everyone's privacy. And if someone tells him that: “nothing's wrong” he would wait until that person would open up.
Even if they don't open up their problems, Bokuto would be there to comfort them until they're ready to open up. So that's what Bokuto did, he waited. Waited for Akaashi to open up his problem. And eventually, after a few days of Bokuto's confrontation, Akaashi finally confessed what's been bothering him.
Through a phone call.
Akaashi was too scared to tell it face to face with Bokuto, okay? He decided that it would be better to call Bokuto than telling him in the face so that if Bokuto wouldn't accept him (or he would feel disgusted) Akaashi can immediately end the call and hide in his room forever.
Akaashi took deep breathes to calm his nerve down. His thoughts running wild with the 'what if' questions. So after a few moments of deep breathes and what if questions, he finally decided to press the call button. After exactly 2 rings, Bokuto answered the call, loud as ever making Akaashi (almost) deaf.
“Agashee! Hi!” exclaimed Bokuto through the other line. Akaashi chuckled, he knew Bokuto was beaming even if he can't see it, he just knew. “It's Akaashi Bokuto-san, not Agashee. And hello to you too.” he answered with a small smile written in his face.
“Why did you call? Did something bad happen?” asked Bokuto. “Am I not allowed to call you even if nothing bad happen?” answered the younger. Bokuto gasped, “No! No! Not at all, I was just asking because you never called me first. I'm just shocked!” Bokuto said as he started panicking.
This made Akaashi laugh a bit.
“I'm just kidding Bokuto-san” says Akaashi. He heard Bokuto sigh in relief on the other line. “Thank God..” mumbled Bokuto. “But I do have something to tell you though, Bokuto-san” Akaashi spoke, his voice nervous and serious.
Akaashi could imagine Bokuto's confused face just by hearing the small 'huh'. Honestly, it was cute. “Is it something serious 'Kashi?” asked the older male. Akaashi bit his lip and hummed, “I guess you could say that” he mumbled.
“Then what is it that you want to tell me Akaashi?”
The mentioned male gulped and started to fidget on his bed. His anxiety was rising and he fell quiet making Bokuto worry. “Agashee, are you okay-” Bokuto was cutted off my Akaashi yelling: “yes! I'm fine!” upon realizing his sudden outburst, blood started to rise in Akaashi's cheeks while clearing his throat.
“Sorry for the outburst but yeah I'm fine. I'm just a bit nervous that's all” He said. “why are you so nervous Agashee? It's just me. You can trust me..” Bokuto said. Akaashi sighed, of course he knows that he could trust Bokuto. But he's not sure if he could trust Bokuto (fully well) about his secret.
He had some issues about his past and all of them were all about his 'friends' that told him the could trust them. In the end, his frienfs back stabbed him and told everyone about his secret. This made Akaashi move schools and had trust issues.
Back to the present-
“You could tell me when you're ready 'Kashi, I'm not gonna force you.” says Bokuto softly. Akaashioursed his lips and sighed softly. “I know, I'm just having issues about trusting people again..” he replied. Bokuto nodded (as if Akaashi could see him)
“You can trust me.” Bokuto said in a reassuring tone. Akaashi took a deep breathe and calm his nerves. He cleared his throat before telling his big secret to Bokuto.
“Bokuto-San, I-I'm trans”
Silence.
Akaashi was left in silence. Bokuto didn't speak or gasp. He was silent. This made Akaashi regret what he just said and end the call, he was about to speak when Bokuto beat him (her) up to it. “Ah, that's nice 'Kashi. But I-I got to go, my mom needs me to help her with the dinner. Bye.” Akaashi sat there dumbfounded. His mind went blank.
Beep. Bokuto ended the call. Akaashi wanted to cry but he can't, he can't cry nor he can't move. He was frozen in his seat. He felt no emotions just blank and the thought:
What the f**k?
-
A few days passed and Bokuto started to ignore Akaashi. He wouldn't talk or yell his name. He would simply greet him a good morning or afternoon and walk away. This broke Akaashi's heart. He knew he shouldn't have told Bokuto about his secret and this wouldn't happen.
It hurts when your best friend ignores you. Bokuto was probably disgusted by Akaashi because he's trans. Yeah.
Akaashi was gloomy for days, which is not like him cause he usually bottles up what he's feeling and he would try so hard not to let it show. But this time, he couldn't hide it. Everyone noticed it. From Bokuto ignoring Akaashi and Akaashi getting all gloomy.
Out of everyone form the volleyball team, Kanoha was the one who got very worried since he's usually with Bokuto and Akaashi. “Bokuto-san!” Akaashi yelled as he set towards Bokuto who spiked it down without any complications.
When the other team didn't catch the ball, Bokuto and his team (except Akaashi) yelled in victory. At this time, Bokuto would compliment Akaashi or tell him about his perfect toss, but no. Bokuto simply said 'nice toss' and walked away to congratulate the team.
Akaashi sat there, shocked. His heart shattered into million pieces making him grab his bag and water bottle. “I'll go ahead and change first. I'm tired” Akaashi grumbled. Kanoha nodded and spoke, “okay bu-” he stopped talking when Akaashi was gone.
Kanoha stared at the door of the gym and sighed. God dammit Bokuto, Akaashi, fix this problem already.

Sometimes the showers are a very nice place to think and cry. The water hitting your back as you think and the water covering the sobs that would escape from your lips. Akaashi did that, he spent 30 minutes in the shower just to think and let out his emotions.
He can put from the shower with puffy eyes. He quickly dried his self up and changed his clothes. Akaashi grabbed his gym bag and as he was supposed to leave the room, he saw a paper fell into the ground. He bent down to grab the paper that fell and read it.
After reading what's written, the male crumbled the paper and threw it away before heading towards the directions the letter told him.
Meet me at the back of the gym. ASAP
-
Just like the letter said, Akaashi stood at the back of the gym waiting for the anonymous person to come. He fiddled with his fingers as he wait. After exactly 5 minutes, the anonymous person came. “Sorry for being late, did you wait too long?” the person said.
“It's okay, I didn't wait too long” Akaashi said and looked up. He was shocked when he saw the anonymous person standing there was Bokuto smiling nervously. “Bokuto-san” Akaashi mumbled. His heart beating very fast as he questioned himself mentally.
What is Bokuto-san doing here?
“'Kashi” Bokuto said softly. Oh how Akaashi missed that voice. “Is there.. Is there something you want to tell me?” Akaashi said, c*****g his head a bit to the side. Cute. Bokuto thought to himself.
“yeah, an uhh- wait a sec” Bokuto said before grabbing something from his pocket. He gave Akaashi a small chuckle and gave him a small box. “What's this Bokuto-san?” Akaashi asked as he stared at the small box in Bokuto's hand. “it's a gift.. For you” says Bokuto.
Akaashi pointed to himself and asked, “For me?” Bokuto nodded and gave him a small smile. “yeah for you” Akaashi took the box and opened it. He gasped softly upon seeing a small heart pin painted with the colors for the transgender flag in them. Akaashi took it out carefully and examined the pin before looking at Bokuto.
“Look, I'm sorry if it isn't nice. I tried to paint it very carefully without letting any paint go to waist. I messed up at first, I thought I need to fry the plate so that's why I vurned myself but I later on realized I need to bake the clay-”
“Bokuto-san”
“-I hope you would forgive me from ending the call like that and for ignoring you. I panicked, I didn't know what to do so I made you this instead. Just ignore the messy side paints, I messed up that part-”
“Bokuto..”
“-and I'm sorry if I kinda left you just like that. I don't really know a lot of things about trana people. I'm sorry if I offended you-”
“Bokuto Koutaro”
“yes Kashi?” Bokuto flinched and stood up straight. He panicked when he saw Akaashi tearing up. “Kashi are you-” the owl looking boy was shocked when Akaashi embraced him into a hug. “I like it. Really. Thank you for the gift” Akaashi said.
Bokuto smiled softly, “thank god. 'Cause that's my way of telling you that and I accept you fully.” he said. Akaashi started go tear up. “But why, Bokuto-san? I thought you were disgusted”
Bokuto looked at Akaashi in disbelief as he broke the hug. “Disgusted? Why would I be disgusted to you Agashee? You're a very wonderful person. You're perfect, pretty, kind, smart, responsible and the opposite of me.” he said.
“you're just saying that so I can't get mad.”
“No I'm not Agashee. I said that cause I really mean it. I like- no. I love you 'Kashi, I really do.”
Doki.
Akaashi's heart skipped a beat as he looked at Bokuto. His cheeks in the same color as a strawberry. His mind Stopped working and his heart went crazy. “I-” Akaashi said. “You can reject me 'Kashi. I understand that you don't feel the same” Bokuto said in a sad tone.
Slap!
“Ow! What the f**k 'Kashi?!” Bokuto exclaimed as he rubbed on his right shoulder where Akaashi slapped him. He pouted while he looked at Akaashi who's laughing with tears in his eyes. “You dumb owl. I like you too” Akaashi said.
“You do?” Asked Bokuto. Akaashi nodded and wiped his tears, “i do.” Bokuto grabbed Akaashi and hugged him tight while chanting thank you.
“B-Bokuto san, I can't breathe” Akaashi said as he softly patted Bokuto's back, a sign to let him go so he can breathe. Bokuto let Akaashi down and smield sheepishly. “Sorry 'Kashi” he said.
“It's okay.”
-
“Akaashi”
“Yes Bokuto-san?”
“Will you go on a date with me?”
Akaashi turned to look at Bokuto in disbelief. “what kind of question is that? Of course I'll go on a date with you Bokuto san.”
