Trinity's POV
A rush of adrenaline flooded my system. It was so intense that it felt like liquid fire in my veins. Time seemed to slow as my body moved on autopilot, muscle memory from countless self-defense lessons the Triplets had given me.
Who knew I was going to need those lessons this soon??
I twisted to the side just as his claws raked through the air where my throat had been a split second before. The move threw him off balance, and I seized the opportunity, bringing the handle of my dagger down hard on the left side of his skull.
The impact sent vibrations up my arm, but the rogue staggered, his predatory snarl turning into a pained grunt.
I can do this, I thought wildly, my heart hammering so hard I could hear it in my ears. I can actually do this.
