Chapter 22
Cody couldn’t believe he’d struck the stranger. He’d come to the island to free him, yet his body acted on its own. The stranger shrugged off the assault and shook his head.
“I regret this part of the prison.”
“What?” Cody asked as he threw a punch. He couldn’t remember ever punching anyone before. The stranger ducked it with ease and pushed Cody to the side.
“I created this island prison,” the stranger explained. “With all the illusions included.”
Cody tried to wrap his mind around the information as he spun back around and swung at the nimble man again.
“Why am I attacking you?”
“It’s the last safeguard. I thought it was clever.” The stranger ducked around Cody’s clumsy attacks. “Hindsight and all.”
