Chapter 17
Cody sat like a statue while Dominic plotted with the others. Irene came in with Adam, and the two stood as far away from Robin’s body as possible.
“Thanks,” Adam said in a quiet voice to the room before returning to his bedroom. Cody wanted to hug him, and he sensed Adam needed it, but he was too shocked to do anything.
He’d never seen anyone get shot before, besides in the movies. He didn’t know what to think about it. Caleb and Irene wrapped Robin’s body up in a blanket and carried it out to her car. Cody vaguely heard their plans to burn the demon’s body, but Cody tried to block out that mental image. He asked Lin for a ride home, and quietly said goodbye to Dominic and Naomi.
