Chapter 3

I stood next to the building, looking at the 11th floor and dreading the moment I would step outside the elevator on my floor. I mean, I would thoroughly enjoy the second day at my new job if not for two extremely sexy but arrogant twins, who would make my life here a living hell. Adrian had promised me that with his eyes and crooked smile yesterday. I took a long breath and went inside the building. Renee looked at me with uncertainty written all over her face. "You okay, Iz?" she got up and gave me a hug. "You don't look like a person who has just started her dream job. Did something happen yesterday?" I smiled, trying to convince both of us that everything was great. "Just nerves, I guess." I tugged at my ponytail and bit my lip. It will be fine. There is nothing they can do to you if you won't let them. "Would you like to join me for lunch today?" Renee still looked skeptical and I forced a smile. "Sure, I'll be here at 12?" I asked. When she nodded, I waved and went to the elevator. I can do this. I spent last year rejecting my boss who tried to make a pass at me at every opportunity that he could get. Woodhouse twins would be no different. Only sexier. And harder to say no to. "Dear God, keep your panties on!" I murmured and stepped out of the elevator. *** The day went by quickly. Adrian and Jake did not show up and with each passing hour, I got more and more relaxed. I went to lunch with Renee and turned out that was exactly what I needed. We spent an hour talking about hotties from our building, Ryan from my company being the obvious winner. I wasn't sure why Renee didn't mention Woodhouses, but there was no way I would bring them up in this conversation, even if they were the sexiest men here by far. So we spent our break giggling and gossiping until we had to go back. Since it was my second day at the office and I did not want to take a longer break that I was given, we rushed back. I stepped back on our floor right on time but decided to get coffee before going back to work. Just as I was opening the door to my office, I felt that something was amiss. And indeed that was true. Andrian was lounging in my chair, and Jake was standing by the window, looking outside. The tension in the air was so palpable, I bit my lip, trying not to show any emotion. "Hello, gentlemen," I smiled at how confident I sounded. "Isabella, " Adrian said. Jake didn't react at all. I turned back to Andrian. "Just Izzy, please," I went to my desk, but since Adrian showed no signs of getting up, I signed and sit down in the chair opposite him. "What I can do for you?" Andrian looked at the clock, then back at me. "It's 13:05. Can you tell time, Isabella?" He emphasized my name, showing that he would not call me by my nickname. Fine by me. I raised my eyebrow. That arrogant bastard. "Yes, I can. I went to get a coffee." Andrain c****d his head. "So the one hour wasn't enough and you had to waste five more minutes to get yourself coffee?" I could hear Jake snicker, but otherwise, he didn't seem interested in our conversation. I swallowed. Why didn't I come straight to my office? Why did I have to be such a caffeine addict? The twins were already on my case since I flipped them off and used some curse words to describe what I was thinking about them. And now I had given them a reason to lecture me. At least I hoped a lecture or a warning was all they were here for. Though you wouldn't mind fooling around with them, would you? Especially to save your job. I grimaced, trying to drown out the voices in my head. Adrian and Jake were my bosses. I had to be a professional, even in my own head. "Nothing to say?" Andrian rubbed his index finger against his lower lip, and I lost it. I could feel myself blush and my panties were suddenly completely drenched. He practically shouted "s*x god" with his graceful movements and bad attitude. I had no idea how anyone could focus on work around them. At that moment Jake turned around and came closer, standing at the back of my chair. "Don't know about you, Adrian, but I think Isabella here cannot be left alone unsupervised. It doesn't seem like she is capable to do anything without anyone looking over her shoulder. " I froze. Did they...? They wouldn't fire me simply because I went to get a cup of coffee, would they? "What are you saying, Mr. Woodhouse?" I asked and turned around to look at Jake. He looked down at me and smirked. There was nothing warm or even human in his eyes at that moment. "Pack your bags, Izzy. You're coming to work as our personal assistant, " Jake said and pulled me up on my feet. "What? No, I just got this job," I argued though I had the feeling this was hopeless. They had made up their mind. "You're done here. Jake, go and tell Amelie that Ms. Faith is transferring. I'll be out in a sec," Adrian said and waited until Jake had left the room. "I hope you're ready, Ms. Faith." he brushed his fingers against my cheek, and suddenly his lips were on mine. His tongue tried to get in, and when I didn't let him, he grabbed and twisted my left n****e so hard, I had to gasp. He took the opportunity of my parted lips and intertwined our tongues. When he was satisfied, he let me go and left the office. Before the door closed, though, I could hear him say "Because we love to play games and we never lose." The door then clicked into its place and I was finally alone in my office.
