Amelia's pov
Anderson Johnson is set to go to school.
He is waiting for his mum's usual kiss on his forehead.
"What are you waiting for, you should be on your way by now" His father, Mr. Johnson said and shook his head.
"I am waiting for my mum's precious kisses," Anderson replied with a smile.
After some minutes, his mum kisses him on his forehead.
He called out the driver and they took him to school.
Anderson has a best friend called Joy Williams.
Joy's parents too are rich and they are also business partners with Johnson's family.
Joy and Anderson are best friends too.
They met each other in class and greeted each other.
"How are you doing, Anderson?" Joy asked.
"I am fine, what about you"
"I am fine" Joy replied.
"I guess the teacher isn't around, we would have more time to gist"
She smiled "You can come to my house anytime you need to gist, I am always available, if the school gist isn't enough "
They both laughed.
A lady, who is their class representative, called 'Amalia Smith' called their attention.
"Hello Everyone, the Mathematics teacher won't be coming to teach today, something urgent came up.
Everybody rejoices.
"The way you stare at this girl, do you have any feelings for her to be sincere"
"Well, I just like her, she is smart, intelligent and hardworking" Anderson said.
"Same as me, I have more than those attributes"
Anderson howled out with laughter.
"What do you mean? It is unfair.
They continued with the gist till the period was over.
It is 3:00 pm and they are all set to leave school when the rain starts falling heavily. Some students whose parents own cars have been taken home.
Only few people remain. Joy, Anderson and Amalia were still inside the school.
It is already 6:00 pm and everywhere seems to be getting dark.
Some minutes later, Anderson's driver came and he was so joyous.
"Now you are happy because your driver is here" Joy said.
"We are both going, he will drop you first because I am so cold right now, I need to enter the car" Anderson replied.
They both entered the car
The driver was about to zoom off, when Anderson stopped him.
"Please stop" Anderson said.
"What is that?" Joy asked.
"Let's drop Amalia in her house please, she will be so cold"
"I am so cold right now, I need to drop to my house first, leave her, she will find how to get home without our intervention" Joy replied.
"Let's help this girl, Joy"
"No, I insist" Joy said.
Anderson refused and came down from the car to where Amalia was.
"Oh, I thought you had gone already" Amalia said.
"When are you going home?" He asked.
"When the rain stopped" She said.
"Your parents ain't coming to pick you"
She smiled and didn't reply.
"Do you mind joining us and we will drop you at your house?" Anderson said.
"Oh, thank you very much" Amalia said and they both went to meet the driver and Joy inside the car.
"Good evening" Amalia greeted after she entered.
"Good Evening" Only the driver responded.
"Let's drop Amalia first, Amalia, where is your house?" Anderson asked.
"Just drop me at the cornel restaurant, you know there, right" She asked the driver
"Yes, I do" The driver responded.
"Thanks" she said.
The driver zoomed off the car. And everywhere was silent for some minutes.
"Are you trying to act like a big girl to us? Going to a restaurant first before branching home, how does that sound" Joy said.
"I am not there to eat"
"Then, what?" Joy said.
"Oh...I am there already, thank you very much everyone, I appreciate" Amalia said and came down from the car.
"Why are you always mean to the lady, why don't you like her" Anderson said.
"Can't you see she is too proud" Joy replied.
"She seems humble" The driver involved himself in the conversation.
"What do you know? You are just a driver" Joy said.
"Hey, shut up" Anderson shunned.
The driver smiled and kept driving.
He dropped her at her house and then continued driving to Mr. Johnson's house.
"Why is Joy so rude, it is obvious she doesn't want you to be friends with other people"
"It is not that way, I don't know why she doesn't like Amalia, and Amalia is a nice girl" Anderson said.
"She has respect, I love her for that"
After a few minutes, they got home.
****
Anderson and his family were in the living room, watching TV.
"By next year, you will be here processing university" Anderson Father said.
"Yes sir, I will be done with college this year" Anderson said.
"Your mum and I will be traveling and we will be handing over the company to the manager" Mr. Johnson said.
"Dad, why not me? I am educated, I will be done with college this year and next year I am applying to university to gain more knowledge, then why can't I hand over the company, am I too young" Anderson said.
"You are not too young" Mr. Johnson said.
"You need a woman, you need to be a very responsible man, you need to marry" Mrs. Johnson elucidates why Anderson can not take over the company.
"What does marrying have to do with handling a company"
"That is what your dad and I want" Mrs. Johnson said.
"And you are fortuitous enough to have Joy by your side, his parents also own a company and she also must have a lot of ideas about how company is being run, not like me and your mum, we both started from scratch and it was very hard for us"
"Do you mean Joy? No, she is just my best friend, the girl that behaves like a winebiber.
"Okay, I trust you and I know you can do better, so look for a very responsible lady that you will forever be with, the one your heart wants and desires" Mrs. Anderson said.
"Nope, I want Joy, her family and my family are both known, their only daughter getting married to our only child isn't that perfect?" Mr. Johnson said.
"I will let you know" Anderson said, and he left the living room to his room.
