Eve’s Point of View
It took all of my willpower not to invite one of the many boys drooling over me off to the side for a little fun and for me to have a bit of a snack at the same time. I wouldn’t drain him, just a taste—a tiny one to take the edge off. But if I did, my chances of smoothing things with Axel today would be ruined.
I spotted him in the cafeteria with Jax and Lilith. He looked uneasy until he saw me, and then a dark look crossed his beautiful face. Damn it. How was I going to get past this? With determination, he picked up a book and pretended to read it. The only problem was that he just stared at it upside down. It was so ridiculous that I couldn't help but laugh. Axel was so determined to ignore me that he didn't even realize he was holding the book upside down!
