An Unsual Interrogation

“You haramis are trying to fool me. There is no way that you will let me go if I tell you what you want to know!” Yusuf cried in desperation. He was starting to feel a choking sensation in his throat. “I am a man of my word. And besides, what other choice do you have?” Tony said, taking out a cigarette from the general’s pack. “Okay okay, what do you want to know?” The victim said, sweating like a pig. “Tell me where our agents are! And don’t f**k with me, you won’t be alive to regret it.” Tony said, thumping his fist on the table. Yusuf looked at Tony’s face reluctantly. Then, he looked at Olivia, who was standing behind Tony with her hands crossed. He gulped and tried to find words, before finally opening his mouth. “I don’t know. All I know is that they were caught outside the city.” The man said. “What the f**k were they doing outside the city?” Tony asked. “They…they walked into an ambush. They thought they were rescuing a child, but ended up right in the middle of a trap. The Khalq already knew of their capabilities, because one of them had become emotionally attached to our source and spilled the beans. That’s all I know, give me the cure now!” the man pleaded. “WHO WAS the source?” Tony asked, focusing his eyes on Yusuf’s face to catch him as soon as he attempted to lie. Yusuf was in a real dilemma now. He looked around in desperation and at last, he decided to f**k it. he opened the secret drawer in his desk and took out a sealed envelope. Tony snatched it from him and took out the photos from inside. The contents of the envelope shocked him to the core. There were numerous photos of the captured agents meeting the Khalq’s source, which was none other than Jamaila. That woman had been playing them from day one. But she never considered that the agents would actually be successful in interrogating the general, who was protected by the whole military. She thought that just like the agents before them, they would listen to their conscience and go to save her ‘baby’. “It means they have been watching us from day one. Now tell me, how do I get the location of those hostages?” Tony darted another question towards the poor man. There were less than three minutes remaining and Yusuf was starting to feel pressure building in his head. But survival instincts compelled him to play along Tony’s little game. “I’m sorry, but I don’t have that level of clearance. All I know is that your friends knew about the senator’s relations with our army, and tried to use his daughter to get to him. But instead, the senator’s daughter used them. If you really want to find out, get to the senator. He has eyes and ears all over the place and he surely knows a lot more than I do. Now please give me the antidote, I beg of you!” Yusuf cried in agony. “Okay, one last question. Why don’t they just kill them? Why keep them alive and under so much security?” Tony asked and got up. With less than one minute left on the clock, Yusuf decided to go the distance. “They…the….the scientists found a way to use the black magic that you people do. They have made the most effective weapons and technology to make us win the war. Why else do you think we are gaining on the government in this very city? We have made very small teams of commandos, who use magic and kill large battalions on their own. f*****g BATTALIONS! Can you believe that? We will not let them go easily because they are our key to ruling the world. They are a blessing from god!” Yusuf said as his eyes shone up. He spread his hands in front of Tony, begging for the cure. But Tony just stood there, and instead of saying something, he just smiled. “No cure for you, motherfucker.” Tony said and regained his seat. Yusuf was stunned by this act of betrayal, and wanted to call at the top of his voice, but he couldn’t speak. With less than ten seconds left on the clock, his body froze and his eyes rolled over. And after twenty seconds, he suddenly opened his eyes. He looked around wildly, and Tony and Olivia were surprised to see this reaction from him. “Are you feeling all right, general?” Tony asked, pretending to be concerned. “What the hell just happened?!” Yusuf asked, staring at Tony. “I was just telling you about our weapons, and you started behaving oddly. Is everything all right?” Tony said. “Ye……yes yes; I am very interested in your deal. We will discuss it again on another day. It was nice to make your acquaintance.” The general said and got up to shake hands with Tony. “Do you think he remembers fragments of our conversation?” Tony asked Olivia on the way out of the base. “The memory inhibitor has been used countless times before. His reaction was really strange actually, probably the placebo effect.” Olivia said and chuckled. For all the folks out there who don’t know about the placebo effect, look at it this way- sometimes, a doctor gives fake pills to patients which don’t do s**t. They are called placebos. The patient thinks he is taking real medicine and oddly enough, his body starts to heal. So in a way, pills are not the only way to get rid of diseases. You can use your brain to do that for free. General Yusuf programmed his brain into thinking that he was poisoned, and hence, his mind CREATED the symptoms of a real poisoning. The human body is a f*****g marvel, that’s for sure. “Damn! I told you we can’t trust their sources. That f*****g b***h!” Gabriel shouted as he prepared a drink for him. “So what do we do now?” Emma asked, looking at Tony. Tony was thinking with a cigarette in his hand. He had become a heavy smoker in a very short period of time. “There are not a lot of options. We have to go after the senator and take a hold over him. The best way to do that will be to kidnap his daughter. But make no mistake, this mission will be a lot more difficult than the last one. This time, the whole city will be after our asses. And there’s no one that we can trust. So ladies and gentlemen, get ready to fight a f*****g war!” Tony said and lifted his glass of whiskey. And war it was, a war that would change the course of history for the Khalq.
