Judgment Day

1907 Words
The morning was calm. Birds were chirping on the trees, and the dim sunlight was lighting up the cold streets. Broken liquor bottles and shattered glass was spread all over, along with burnt out cars and rags. But the solemn silence of the magical morning was broken by the roaring sound of engines. Seven gigantic armored trucks entered the deserted alley, speeding along the way. “For Christ’s sake, get your beast mode on. We’re moving like turtles. If the rioters see us, they will think The Chakra sent us.” Dank said to the driver (who happened to be his brother), keeping an eye out for early risers. “Relax, we’re almost there. And I’m driving a bullet-proof truck, not a race car. This is as fast as it gets.” His brother Rishu replied. “There they are. Stop right in front of the house.” Dank said, pointing at the mansion. Thomas, Veda and Amanda were standing at the door. Thomas became alert when he saw the trucks coming and took out his pistol. “Identify.” He said to Rishu when the truck stopped in front of the mansion. “Yo, chill man; we’re here for the pick up the dancing monkeys.” Rishu said with his hands up. “They’re our men. I trained them personally to be the best in all of Redland.” Veda intervened. “Whatever. Get the men out, we have to get out, RIGHT NOW!” Thomas said, returning the pistol to its holster.  Veda whistled, and a battalion of men came out marching. These were seventy highly trained soldiers, who had the deadliest weapon amongst their armory- pure dedication. You could tell by the look on their faces that neither one of them was going to back off, no matter how slim the chances of victory. Attentive eyes, fingers on the triggers and a little smile on the face- it was not the look of a soldier, it was a freedom fighter’s face. And the most dangerous soldier is the one who has a purpose bigger than him. The soldiers were loaded in less than fifty seconds, and Thomas took a place by Veda’s side. As soon as they set off, Thomas looked around and tapped on Veda’s shoulder. Veda looked at him, afraid of any sudden developments. But Thomas’ smile made him a little less tense. “Check this out, I was looking at the video surveillance of one of the targets, and I hit a jackpot.” Thomas said, taking out his mobile phone and playing a video. The first thirty seconds were pretty standard with little to no movement. But then something happened, something which almost pulled Veda’s eyes out of their sockets. The footage was from the main gate CCTV, which showed a large armored car pulling up at the gate. And out came the maniac himself, followed by his four identical guards. “Why is he there? I don’t understand.” Veda said with visible confusion. “Well, as we already know, he dosen't have a single hideout and he constantly moves. Right now, he is absolutely sure that we are not hitting these targets. So the safest place for him is right there. I guess his smartness will be the reason for his death.” Thomas said in a triumphant voice. “So you’re going to Alcatamore castle. I have some debts to settle myself, so I’m coming with you.” Veda said, cracking his knuckles. Thomas nodded in support. “Boys, you hyped?” Veda yelled. A loud ‘hoorah’ followed Veda’s question. Each soldier was carrying a standard mp5-SD (sub-machinegun) and four grenades. They were also wearing armor and a standard helmet. In short, if they managed to keep up their confidence, they had a pretty good chance at winning against the weakened and above all, unprepared security of the Chakra. “Okay, this is where we part from others. We have three targets to clear, and Thomas and I are going to Alcatamore. We’re taking the backup truck with us as we have reason to believe that Alcatamore has tighter security. The remaining four trucks will take one target each. Let’s move!” Veda said on the radio. “The castle has two watch towers on the front entrance. They will probably be guarded by snipers or machine gunners. I will take care of the towers, and then we’ll crash the trucks through the front gate. Backup truck stays outside with heavy guns, in case anyone tries to run away. Sound cool?” Thomas said, taking up an AK-47 and Molotov. “Affirmative; Boys, this is it! The moment you’ve been training for is finally here. You have been training for weeks for this one day. Each one of you knows where he will go and which position he will attack. The role of every single person is critical in our success. Chakra will show you no mercy, so kill or be killed.” Veda shouted. As soon as the towers were in sight, Thomas climbed on the top of the truck and instructed the driver to move at a balanced speed. When he was close enough, he threw the Molotov with full force at the top of a tower. Next, he crouched waited for the perfect moment. He could see a sniper taking up his rifle. As soon as Thomas felt the moment was right, he fired. The bullet went through the liquor bottle, shattering it into pieces and lighting the booze on fire. The fire advanced in the air like a ravaging bull, landing in the sniper’s nest. A distant scream was followed by three burning bodies falling from the burning tower. The sniper in the other tower was alerted and pulled the trigger. The bullet barely touched Thomas, who was ready and jumped into the truck at the last second. “RPG!” He screamed. He was handed a rocket launcher. He immediately peeked out of the window and took a quick but precise aim. The rocket flew away with a whistle and the recoil almost threw Thomas out of the truck. The projectile landed on the middle of the tower wall, shattering the cement. The wall crumbled and the nest fell to the ground with a loud bang. “Clear!” Thomas said and passed the RPG to the soldiers sitting in the back. He took up the powerful M4A1-S rifle and mounted the suppressor on its muzzle. “Don’t stop. Push the truck right through the gate.” Veda said, taking up his AK-47. Rishu nodded and pressed the accelerator pedal, touching it all the way to the floor. The engine hissed as the speedometer crossed 80 kmph. “Get ready, here we go!” Thomas said and braced for impact. The wooden door was shattered into twigs as soon as the monster’s bonnet hit it with immense speed. There were at least twenty guards standing right in front of it. Some of them jumped away to avoid the c*****e, but the others were turned into paste one by one. Blood and body parts flew all over the place, and the truck was shaking from the resistance of bodies underneath. The speed demon came to a halt after hitting the castle entrance, breaking the wall. “Let’s go, let’s go! Kill every single motherfucker, no mercy!” Veda yelled, taking off his rifle’s safety. Screams and gunshots filled the air as the other truck entered the premises. Thomas opened the truck’s gate and leaped on the guard standing outside. With a magnificent thrust, he opened the enemy’s head using his rifle butt. He hit him two more times with immense force, you know, just to make sure he wouldn’t get up. The other soldiers were out of the truck and taking the positions they had been trained for. The castle guards were confused and were trying their best to stay alive. Veda tossed a grenade in a neighboring room. Bits of flesh flew out of the window as soon as the nade exploded. At this time, he noticed a machine gunner taking position at the balcony of first floor. If he were to start firing, Veda's soldiers would surely be massacred. “Thomas!” He called. Thomas was on his knees, dropping anyone who came down the stairs of the first floor. He immediately turned his head on hearing Veda’s call. “What?!” he asked. “Machine gun, first floor balcony.” Veda said.“We have to clear the two floors above us. You guys ready to end this once and for all?!” Thomas said energetically, in an attempt to motivate the soldiers. The call was followed by a thundering ‘hoorah’ and Thomas smiled. “Roger that; take my position and cover me.” Thomas said and broke into a run towards the stairs. As soon as he reached the stairs, he took out a flashbang. He took a momentary peek at the floor above him and threw the flash. He spotted five armed hostiles watching the stairs. As soon as the flash went off, he climbed the stairs and sprayed a torrent of bullets on the blinded goons. They had no chance; two of them fell down with a hole in their heads, while the other three jumped behind cover. But it was too late, they were dead long before they touched the ground. Thomas entered the first floor and looked around. The entrance to the balcony was right in front of him. He lifted a dead body to its feet and opened the door. He tossed the body inside and took cover behind the wall. Multiple gunshots echoed in the room. Thomas got inside and saw three guards shooting at their comrade’s dead body. Thomas put a bullet inside them before they could realize what was happening. “Please, I’m just an ordinary person. I will run away in peace, don’t kill me.” The man on the machine gun said. “Take your hands off the machine gun.” Thomas said, pointing the gun at his head. The man took his hands off the gun mounted on the balcony and raised them up. Thomas took out his knife and walked up to him. He slit the man’s throat before he could say anything. “I don’t waste bullets on cowards.” Thomas said, looking at the man holding his cut throat and choking on his own blood. “Balcony clear! Order five of our men to guard the outside and tell the rest to storm the second floor.” Thomas said on the radio. “Roger that; Leopards, guard the entrance and the rest, follow me!” Veda said on the radio.  “We have to clear the two floors above us. You guys ready to end this once and for all?!” Thomas said energetically, in an attempt to motivate the soldiers. The call was followed by a thundering ‘hoorah’ and Thomas smiled.
