My Company or the Mermaid

Bianca's Point of View My Queen Mother, you have a visitor , she's at the chamber. Ashley, my personal maid, came with this information. I puzzled for a moment thinking who this sort of visitor could be . Dressed in my royal apparel,clothed with a shiny and lustre mermaid tail, having some quality time with my subjects. I rose up, swam to the chamber and assiduously introduced myself to this stranger who was also a mermaid like me but was not a Serene. I'm Bianca , Queen of the Sea creatures ,Ruler of the Serenes where life is seen and felt right inside the oceans . I eschewed Humans , they are my foes... Here in Serene I look after my subjects, always having their backs, striving and working meticulously in carrying out my duties as their queen. Yes I might not have feets like the humans but I look unique in our very own appendages which were my shiny colourful tails scrupulously created to display beauty and oneness amongst me and my subjects. During the early and very late hours of the day when the humans are probably asleep, I and my subjects swim to the surface of the oceans to have some fun ,dance , merry and enjoy the natural breeze the land could give at that point in time... Alright I believe by now you must have grabbed a couple of things about the Serene. I assumed,giving that correlating side eye. Felicia, looking so frustrated , her tails seeming so and pale , I could feel this tension in her eyes . She wasn't at peace at all . So I asked her softly.. What troubles you ? Giving me that naive look and calm look she responded. " My name is Felicia , just like I said earlier, my parents were killed by an evil sea creature , it threatened to take my life as well so I ran away looking for help. Then I stumbled on some mermaids right at the Serenes kingdom entrance”. I could feel the trepidation that grieved her as she made her utterances and divulged the whole information to me . I adjusted myself to my throne, I was mute for a while trying to process the whole story Felicia gave... Her story was kind of not adding up but I wasn't getting some parts so I asked . What do you want me to do?. As a matter of fact , I had sympathy for her and was really ready to help... "Queen Mother , I really asked that I be part of the Serenes ... Felicia pleaded. Hmmm!!! Having a considering , open and generous heart , I bought the idea.. But on second thought , her story made my blood boil , because it reminds me of how my Father was killed and my mother murdered in cold blood by the Humans . I took a brief pause then said to Felicia. "Felicia, you're welcome to the Serenes , but you must be of good conduct . Just like I said earlier we look after each other”...., "Maids assist her , clean up her tails and make her look stunning". I ordered. Giving that responsive warm smile She flashes back . Her contagious smile literally crept into my soul like that of the soft shadows. Her tension reduced drastically. I was happy I could help . I equally felt this relief too. In a short while, I decided to swim to the top of the ocean to check out the sun that shines brightly on the earth. I had a wish to make , I wanted to speak to the River Goddess that normally comes out when surmourn . I swam to the surface of the ocean to surmount the River Goddess and then make my request . But on getting there , I realised I forgot my sceptre . My sceptre was my symbol of authority and that was the only thing I could use to command the spiritual forces and powers of the ocean. But just as I was about to move.., I noticed something' I was at the back of a white object, it seemed like a ship but I wasn't really sure. As I took a turn to head on back to the Serenes for my sceptre my tails got stuck to the ship . I tried pulling myself out but all my efforts proved abortive. I was completely worn out ,a lot of things were going on in my mind. I asked myself.. " What if I get trapped here forever , am completely powerless without my sceptre? I can't even help myself". I soliloquized wearing a tiring look. Just as I was still trying to get myself out by all means something happened. I knew my tails were going through hell as of that time but that wasn't my business, the bone of contention was to leave there as soon as possible. My biggest fear at that point in time was not to be sighted by any human because they might use me as an exhibition show or probably keep me hostage so I was deeply scared. I felt so sorry for myself that how could I have left without my sceptre . But all the same the deed was already done. I was still battling when a young handsome man sighted me from the ship. I think he probably came out to get a glance through the oceans . He was outrightly looking at the oceans when he saw me struggling to escape. The moment I saw him, I almost lost it. Oh my goodness! He was approaching me . At this point I felt he was going to do something bad to me but to my greatest surprise he was able to remove my tails from the ship. I was startled at first seeing the manner at which he handled the situation. He never called for an alarm or made it so obvious for the next party to notice. He was so calm , gentle and well received.. He asked softly drawing almost very close to me with his eyes directly on my face. " Who are you? Hope you're fine, let me see,was your tail hurt, so sorry okay , I could help you”. At this point, I went blank. I was like " Wow most humans really have a thing with Mermaids, I least expected that from him but anyway I reciprocated that same energy hurriedly. " My name is Bianca , Queen of the Serenes, Mother of the Oceans . I was going to see the Goddess of the ocean when I got trapped by the ship". I tried giving him a brief introduction about myself. " Oh so sorry dear, actually I came out for a brief ride with my ship on the ocean” . He tried to explain while I stared at him, almost confused. He continues.. It wasn't intentional to make you go through this. Please accept my apology". His words at this point were as soft as the shadows. I became really interested in this human so I asked him what his name was. He replied staring directly into my eyes as if he was trying to decipher something. After a good glance, he replied.. " I'm Bruno , the only son of Famous Billionaire " Mr Roman" , I help in managing my Father's Empire " which was NO 1 in the city and was popularly known for Telecommunication,Fashion and Entrepreneurship services. After a stressful week, I decided to get on a ride on the oceans” “I mean it's weekend already, one needs to have fun and that was how we got to this point” ,Please accept my apologies okay , I've really wished to come in contact with a mermaid. I've fantasised about it countless times and today I am happy I met you”. Bruno said looking like someone in a state of Euphoria. " No is okay , you don't have to apologise, it wasn't your fault okay. I responded looking at him and was completely getting more invested in our conversation. He asked me for a favour if he could take a selfie with me. I immediately agreed and we both took a picture. Not too long I had a sound coming towards him , it seems it was a human then I swam vehemently back into the oceans. On several occasions while swimming back to Serenes I will intentionally swim to the surface to check if he was still there and oh my goodness Bruno was still staring at the oceans to see if he could find me. It dawned on me that we both enjoyed each other's company and wanted it to last more. At some point, I literally reminded myself He is a Human and I am a Mermaid , we are two different personalities. But honestly I wasn't getting what was going on in my head, that voice was just all over the place, seeming so judgemental. I was completely not supposed to see or come in contact, not to talk more of having a conversation with a human. On the contrary my heart was saying something different. I was left to ponder with the two inner voices but I wasn't still understanding the whole situation so I decided to give myself a break. I got back to Serenes and had a good rest because at that point in time I was almost going to lose my mind.
