Prodigies: The Dark Phantom

Time | 8 : 23 PM Date | December 24, 2015 The door was opened when an old man pushes it to enter the store. He wears an eyeglasses that reveals his eyes. He has a gray hair because of his old age and he wears a thick clothes due to the coldness of the weather. Beside the doorway on his left are a pile of red baskets reaching up to his belly, he picked the one on top and began wandering around to pick his wanted food and drinks, including a pack of cigarette. When he's done, he headed to the place of the cashier where there is only one guy working at this moment while being watched by another customer who's standing in front of the cashier's desk, waiting for him to return her paid items, she's old like him. Sound of a slow Christmas song can be heard by them coming from a radio which is placed on top of a rectangular cabinet that doesn't have doors in order for everyone to see what's inside of it, this is placed behind the cashier and is built on the wall. Sounds coming from the machine can be heard too everytime the cashier pulls the trigger of his scanner that has a shape of a gun but has a shorter mouth, just to hit the bar codes of each items, causing the machine to continuously releases a receipt. “Thank you for buying ma'am, Merry Christmas!” he nodded as he smilingly greets the old woman while giving back her paid items which is placed inside a two plastic bags. “Merry Christmas.” she smilingly replied and left the line. “Next!” he calls the person who's standing after the woman. The old man layed the basket on the desk and the cashier began scanning each items that his left hand randomly picks. Outside of the store. The road is filled with blinking Christmas bulbs that lightens their spots. Structures of snowman and other Christmas designs can also be seen standing on the roadsides, giving smiles to everyone especially the children who are staring out of their window inside their car, as they slowly passes through those things. Under a bright light that comes from a tall road lamp, there's a man standing and wearing a black thick clothes that warms his body, he is muscular and just keeping his eyes on the store which is built on the other side of the divided road. He nodded up and releases a smoke through his mouth while his hands are placed inside his both legs pocket and arms squeezing his body, he felt a bit cold for a little time. The smoke is clear like a vapour and is visible under the bright light, it spreaded in an upward direction gently and fades away. “Thank you for buying sir, Merry Christmas!” he smilingly greeted the old man like he did to the previous customer as he is handing a large plastic bag containing paid items to the old man. “Merry Christmas!” the old man smilingly greeted him too. When the old man went out of the store and headed to the right direction, the man standing under the road lamp does crosses the road. He tailed the old man walking on the roadside unnoticeably. As the old man continuously walks with a drowsy shoulders, an intersection disrupts his walk and headed to the right direction. A row of cars are parked on the roadside, their bumpers are a little far from the roadside's ledge and their bodies are slanted. One of them does lightened itself twice with a loud beeping sounds. It was the old man's car and it was caused by pressing the button on his car key. When he heard his car's alarm, he headed to the left seat of it where the steering wheel is built and unlocks it using the key. He pulled the door and seated but when he's about to close it, someone's left wrist suddenly blocks the sharp top edge of the door. “Huh?, you made me startled, who are you?” the old man peeked out to see the stranger's face. This was the man who's been following him before. The stranger's right hand took something in his right leg pocket and a photo came out, “Do you know the guy in this photo?” he showed it closer to the old man's sight. The old man took it to have a clear look, “Yes, I know him. Why are you asking?, and who are you?” The stranger shortly rattles his throat and fix his posture while the old man decided to step out of his car to have a better conversation with him. He faces the stranger on his left, “Ahem, I remember him.” his head is nodded down to the photo on his left fingers and returns his eyes back to the stranger. “My name is Darius Lee, I'm sorry for making you startled.” he smiled and lend his right hand to the old man asking for a handshake. “Samuel Miller, yeah I felt so startled.” he accepted the apology and gave him a handshake. “What do you want to know?” Samuel asked. Darius shortly takes away his eyes from staring at Samuel, “Six years has passed and uh, I found out that you are one of those rescuers who saved him after a deadly earthquake.” Samuel nodded, “Yes, I'm one of them when he's stucked beneath the ground. I could still remember how pity his looks at that time... Why?, what's your relationship with him?” his eyebrows moves up like he was knowing the true intention of Darius. “Um. The truth is, he sent me here to find out if you saw a black case when you reached his location.” when Samuel heard his words, he suddenly feel a bit scared causing his eyes to change its direction.
