66 Stone’s eyes opened into sterile, fluorescent light. He found himself lying on a padded medical table in a room that looked like a physician’s office. His eyes blinked once, then again as he focused on his surroundings. He was disoriented and woozy like he had been drugged. But that was nothing compared to the intense soreness permeating every muscle of his body. The relative calm of his awakening, however, didn’t last.
