LIORA Logan was right… I did actually need to step away from Ryder. It did help me see things more clearly, and by clearly, I mean realizing just how much of a b***h I was for moaning Evan’s name. I also owe Ryder an apology because I am about eighty-eight percent sure he heard me. The memory alone was enough to make me want to crawl into a hole and never come out. I had no excuse. No explanation that could somehow make what happened sound better than it actually was. The worst part wasn’t even that I moaned another man’s name. It was that Ryder had looked genuinely happy before everything went to hell. A cup of coffee being dropped onto my table pulled me out of my thoughts.
