Chapter 1
“Olivia, are you still painting by this time, it's late. This is 9:30pm,” Michael said by the sound of his voice one will know how worried he is. “You told me that the governor will be needing the picture tomorrow,” she muttered with a smile. “How does it look?” she asked. “You know I don't have to tell you before you know all your paintings look real.” He said and pecked her. “Thanks,” she said and smiled at him. “You are welcome. Do you remember what I told you?” he asked her “Yeah, you said after giving the president the picture, then I will be known all over New York as the best artist.” she said with a bright smile and then hugged Michael, “Thank you so much mike.” her heart couldn't express how happy she was. “Am glad you remember,” he said and smirked, before hugging her back. “Let me go and complete the painting,” she said and went back to do her business. “Alright,” he said and left the room. The next day. Governor Donald's Residents Michael and Olivia were in the building of the governor, and Olivia could not help but drool over how magnificent the building was. There is a beautiful waterfall around the building, making every corner look beautiful and cool. And it was a story building, they got inside the house, everywhere was covered with crystal light, by this time Olivia's mouth was already open. Without her knowledge, she saw the king size chair and they were told to sit and wait for the governor. Olivia sat down and saw how soft it was, Michael had to close her opened mouth, by tapping her. About six minutes later, the governor came down, and they got up and greeted him in respect. “You are welcome to my house, what will you guys love to eat?” He asked. Olivia was about to talk when Micheal told the governor that they weren't hungry. “Sir, you don't have to listen to him, if he isn't hungry I am, I want to eat fried chicken and gumbo rice.” She said hungrily. “Alright go set the table with her requirement.” He told one of the numerous maids in the house. “Sure Sir,” she said and was about to leave, when Michael spoke up. “I will eat that too, she won't be able to eat alone. He lied. The governor looked at Olivia, who immediately nodded her head in agreement. The maid finally left. “Thank you sir,” Olivia said and bowed respectfully. “You are welcome young lady,” he said and showed them dinner. The maid already dropped the food there, they were well covered. “I will leave you guys to eat, I will be waiting in the sitting room, don't keep me waiting.” He said and left. Olivia went to sit, so as Michael, they opened the food to see a full chicken and enough gumbo rice. Wow, Michael said and looked at Olivia who was already feeding on her chicken. He ate for a few minutes, and left with the painting. Olivia had finished half of the chicken and was still battling with the other half. When he got to the sitting room, he saw the governor watching a movie. “Sir, here is the painting,” he said and gave him the painting. Governor Donald opened it and a surprised look was visible all over his face, “Wow this painting is so neat and looks real, did she paint this?” He asked, referring to Olivia. “No, I did.” Michael said boldly to avoid being suspicious. “Wow, you will have to come back tomorrow. Let me announce you to the whole of New York as the best artist here.” He said. “Thank you Sir” Michael said “That's not all you will be rewarded with the sum of fifty thousand dollars, you should come early, tomorrow,” he said and tapped his back and left him. Michael went to Olivia, who just finished her food. “Let's go,” he said. “What did the president say about the painting?” she asked curiously. “He said he is going to announce you to the whole of New York next week,” he lied. “Wow, let me go and thank him," she said happily, she was about going, when Michael grabbed her back. “I have already done that, let's go,” he said. “This is unlike you, you're acting weird,” she said. “Don't you trust me?” He asked. “I do, just that I am beginning to suspect you, if he said he didn't like the painting, you just have to tell me” She rushed her words. “He said I should get you home to prepare you for the announcement.” Michael lied again. “Alright, let's go,” she said Michael took her out of the building. When they got home it was midnight already. Olivia just went to sleep, because she ate already, at the governor's place. She woke up the next morning, it was nine am already, she got down from the bed and went to the bathroom to brush and take her bath. She came back, to notice the wardrobe opened, she was about to check what happened to it, when the News popped up on the TV in the room. Governor Donald is announcing Michael as the best painter in New York, she rushed to the wardrobe and found it empty. She ran to the painting room, only to see all her paintings gone. She saw a paper on the chair nearby, and she opened it. Thank you for allowing me to use you. I'm on my way to the US, after the announcement, stay strong for your parents. From your dearest Michael, she read it and fainted. She went into a coma for a year, her parents died of heart attack after selling all they had to pay for her hospital bills. She finally woke up with no one to console her. Three years later Olivia just finished painting, and she took it to who she painted it for and collected her money from the person. That is what she does to feed now. “Olivia please come, I need you to paint a picture of me and my family.” Mr. Tife said. She is Olivia's landlord “Alright Sir, my workmanship is a hundred dollars,” she replied. “That's the picture, take it and get to work.” He said “Thank you Sir.” She took the picture and left. She entered her apartment and exhaled, since the incident three years ago she has been scared to draw. She just started recently but was scared that she might not be able to draw well again, she lost her boldness and confidence. She went to her painting room, she has not painted anything apart from the ones her customers always bring. She brought out Mr. Tife's picture and began painting sadly. It took her just a few minutes and she was done drawing, she took the painting and went back to Mr Tife's house. She handed the painting to him and he gave her money. She decided to take a stroll, she went into a restaurant, and bought food as she was eating. Someone began talking about an upcoming artist event. That the best artist that will be selected as the winner will receive multiple rewards. “I think this is the only way I can get my old self back,” she said in her mind!!”
