I was upstairs in my bedroom zipping up my costume when the chime of the doorbell sent my heart flying into my throat. It was five o’clock already? I’d been waiting to find the third point for weeks, but now that the time was finally here… And Ryan seeing me in this silly costume wasn’t doing much for my nerves, either.
I heard my grandma open the door a second later, quick enough that I could tell she’d been waiting for Ryan to arrive. “Ryan Spina, I’m presuming?” she said.
“Yes, ma’am,” came his reply, and I couldn’t help a little smile to myself. Last night I’d sent him a message on f*******: telling him to be on his best behavior. It seemed he’d taken that to heart.
