Hazel walked into The Cold villa, rich people really live in luxury. " here, please, my lady" Ara, a maid said and led Hazel upstairs to see her cripple husband. Mrs Cold , Hazel mother in-law stood downstairs smiling at her. she was very happy to finally see a day that her son gets marry, even though, he never agreed to it. Douglas, The CEO of Cold Gold company was rumoured to be impotent, throughout his college and tertiary institution, he never mingle with girls. He was always seen in the company of men, the only woman he's close to was no other than his mother. They girls who tried to flirt with him and lure him to bed after several futile efforts all declared him impotent. Two years ago, he had an accident and was rumoured to be lame. So when Mrs Cold proposed marriage to the Griffin family, their beautiful ,model like daughter, Claire, locked herself up for a week crying and begging her parents not to let her marry a useless, half death man. Beside, she would not be given a proper wedding with his situation, her parents decided to make use of the alternative, and the only way to save themselves from incurring the Cold family wrath and to curry favor from them was to marry off their foster daughter, Hazel, to Douglas. Killing two bird with one stone, a win win situation as Claire describe it. On the wedding day, Hazel was presented to the Cold family, the mother in-law, although at first disappointed decided to go for it. she had already forced her son to sign the marriage certificate, revoking it now would incur his wrath. Hazel stood behind a door, she look around, but Ara ,the maid was already running down the stairs. Hazel became curious. ' didn't mother in-law said she should take me my room, why be scared' Hazel thought, she took a deep breath and turn the door knob, the door open, she step in , wiped her veil off and prepare to walk toward the bed and relax when she saw a figure by the window. He stood there, tall and fair , that face, OMG Exactly what she do see in magazine, except for the fact that he look more lively now that he stood before her. And then it hit her... Hazel mouth drop open in shock. ' wasn't he supposed to be lame?" " Are you not done gawking?, like what you see?" Douglas Cold voice broke out , only then did Hazel snap out of her daze. " Take a good look for yourself, " Douglas said and drop a set of newspaper cutting , turn around , open the door and went downstairs. Hazel stare at the door in disbelief. well, just like they say, all men are just the same, they are all after beauties. Can she really endure this, just the first day with him, and he didn't even give her a good welcome but a mouthful of insults , couple with horrible newspaper cutting of her scarred face. well, if this is how he welcome people, I'm sure to give him a mouthful of mine. Downstairs, Douglas just ended a call and was fuming in anger. " didn't you hear that, mother? she threaten to kill Claire and took her place as my wife, how will I ever share a bed with such a woman" " feelings can be develop my son, calm down, I don't think Hazel can do that, and even if she does, that means she loves you, its time you prove those rumours about you are not real " " I don't think I can enjoyed this meal with such a ugly duckling in my house " " if you can't, just go upstairs and sleep, and besides. ,I've placed your study under locked, no work tonight , go join your wife in bed" Douglas choked on the wine he was drinking at the word" bed" hmm, does mother think I'm that easy to guile? Better to eat than to join that woman in that room. Douglas thought and pick up his cutlery and dug in. while... Mrs Cold smile to herself, he's still young, he still think marriage is all about being pure, lovely and pleasure, with time, he will come to like and accept her. After dinner, Douglas went upstairs . At the dining, while eating, He had prepare a mouthful of rules for Hazel, let me see how she can live peaceably with such rules.
