9 SAHRAIt was strange to be back. My little adventure had come to an end and I was back with my family. For a few blissful rotations, I'd been on my own. I'd been able to present myself to the rest of the universe the way I wanted to. Here at home, everyone had set expectations of how I was to behave. They saw me as ditzy, weird and a little aloof. I'd never been as sociable as Bavalla or as serious as Tamsia. I was the clever, eccentric one who was always a little separate from everyone else. Maybe that's why I liked Abby so much. She'd said that she preferred animals to people. So did I. I wished I'd had animals before now. Maybe they would have helped when I felt alone and like nobody understood me.
