As I tried to concentrate on talking to Mackenzie, the knock came again . It was firmer this time round.
My breathe got stalled for a moment and I could not even move . I held my phone even tighter. The a voice came through from Mrs Mackenzie.
“Bella! what is the matter ? are you fine ?'’Of course her voice had hints of care as always.
“I think I will end this call. We shall talk later. There is something that I need to check out on. ’’ I whispered quickly and without waiting for her response ended the call.
Then there came another knock at the door. Damn it!
