I glared at Jed as he burst into the room with four of his men , unannounced and completely uninvited.
The force of their entrance felt like a slap;loud , sudden and leaving no room to breathe.
Eli immediately scooped his daughter into his arms, trying to run for their life to protect her ,but it was literally too late. Jed had given a single gesture and his men moved like shadows , swift and merciless.
“ Don't give him a chance!” Jed bellowed, his voice echoing against the walls. His men grabbed Eli and the child with ease, dragging the panic-stricken pair out of the room. They barely resisted for fear alone weakened their limbs.
