Chapter Five - Rusty Bars   Nastania’s POV   Recap   ‘The demon tilted his big head in confusion until I saw the fairy held the long knife high before stabbing the demon in the chest, right in the middle of the heart, the demon screeched in pain as the knife pierced its life source. Blood sprayed out in frenzy before the demon dropped to his knees, his once red skin turning into a moldy gray.   I breathed out in relief, my eyes closing before opening back up again. The demon's dead.   To Be Continued…’ I huffed and puffed, air sucking into my lungs as best as I could. I rested my bloody hands on my knees, my skirt getting stained with the demon's blood. The wind softly blew the trees, making my hair fly freely in the wind, into my face. The rustling of the leaves played like a soft tune, something that could quickly lull you to sleep in a matter of seconds.   I heard a shriek of fear, making me jerk my head up quickly, the fairy dropped to her knees with agony, her knees scraping into the ground, scratching them as tears ran down her face. Her wide, beautiful wings drooped low in sadness, something that was fairly common. Fairies are more submissive creatures, more so than others, a single action can affect their mood, they have nearly zero-to-no control over their wings, unlike the dragons who are the most powerful of wing shifters. For example, if a fairy is sad, like in this situation, their wings will droop or if a fairy is in a happy mood, their wings will grow double the size. No fairy has the capability to become mad, they’re too submissive, too weak. It's quite sad really, it makes fairies a target of s*x slavery or slavery in general.   I sighed, standing on my two feet, wiping the rest of the blood on my hands onto my skirt before walking towards the sad fairy. I knelt down in front of her, my knees cracking, making me hiss as small, sharp pains shot throughout my legs. I placed my hands gently on her fragile, pale shoulders, that's unusual; fairies are normally tan from staying outside so much and nurturing plants. She shrieked, slapping my hands off her shoulder, I yanked my hands back as a faint red mark revealed itself on my hand. She looked up at me in shock before shaking her head, resuming the tears that slowly started to travel down her face once again. She opened her mouth and croaked out a whisper, “I- I'm sorry…” fear lacing her voice. I took my chance again and placed my hand on her shoulder once again, ‘It's okay, we're okay.” I said loudly, looking into her eyes with a small smile of comfort and relief, I watched as her fear laced eyes slowly came down to their airy and comforting look that all fairies had. I watched as her white clothes laced with the demons purple vibrant blood, her blue hair surrounded her as it laid in piles around her, that's aye-lot of hair, her light blue eyes looked at me with confusion. “So, what happens now? I know mother will probably dispose of the evil of this forest.” She looked away from me as her eyes zoomed in on the glass flowers a few feet away from us, she must be a flower fairy. “Oh, you must be a flower fairy... I’m guessing your mother is Goddess Antheia, mother of flowers?” I asked, curiosity laced in my voice. She looked towards me before nodding with pride and admiration, her eyes zooming on the glass flowers once again. I looked at her with a smile before sighing, “I say we leave this to goddesses of nature, may they decide the fate of this awful creature…” I looked towards the demon with a glare. I looked towards the fairy once again, should I ask her what happened? I don’t want to upset her… I fiddled with my hands before speaking up, “I don’t want to make you uncomfortable, trust me that's the last thing I would want to do after what you’ve been through, but may I ask what happened?” She looked down with tears in her eyes, “I-I don’t want to talk about it if that's okay, I mean we can talk about it, but I don-” she rambled, before I interrupted her, “Hey! It's okay, I’m not forcing you to talk about it, I would never, but I’m always here if you need to talk. But anyway, do you have a home to go to? If not I could let you crash at my face for a few nights.” She nodded, “I do have a place to stay, but my brothers and sisters will ask what happened a-and,” tears started to rush down her face as she sobbed, “I'm just not ready to talk about it yet..” I placed my hands on her shoulder once again, I smiled down at her as I stood up, my knees cracking once again. I nodded at her in understanding, “alright, well then, lets head to my house. My name is Nastania, yours?” she looked at me with a smile, “Its Delilah…”                                                                                          … I walked into the wooden house, Delilah on the heels of my boots, the smell of firewood entered my nose as I looked to see the fire I left, out. I’m guessing Delilah could smell it as well because she shrieked and hid behind my back, I smiled before patting her head and setting my stuff down. “Tonight will probably be hotter than others so I see no need to make a fire, lucky you.” I turned around and winked at her.  To be Continued...
