She is Gone

~Ambrose~ I stand impatiently while our Lordship addresses my colleagues and I. I'm fuming. Angry with my brother Charles for notifying the royal guard of my mates identity. Angry with my father, my Alpha, for forcefully taking her and separating us. Both of them standing next to me eager to eat up everything our Lordship says. I could hardly hear one word spoken in the entire address. It wasn't anything I haven't heard before. Talk of controlling the masses just a bit longer. Just until the New Year when he can be appointed as our Leader, and receive the mark of the beast that will finalize his position. Then someone in the crowd shouts "What of the rumors that our queen is still alive?" An uproar broke out amongst all the beasts in the room. Some protest, some in complete denial, and some demanding answers. This news will not go unnoticed. Our Lordship quickly responded that "Those claims have no substance. We should not be wasting our energy on something we can't change. My sister is dead. She won't be coming back" With that he walks off ending his address. While the crowd murmurs fill the room. What Magnus spoke had alarmed me too. He had to have spoken to my mate already. He was the one that ordered my father to separate her. He can't deny the psychic bond they share. Why wouldn't he believe her? I begin to question. Maybe Magnus doesn't want to give the masses hope, but isn't that exactly what they need? I see a man enter the conference hall, swift on his feet headed straight for our Lordship. I see him lean in to deliver a message. Our Lordship nods and begins to walk towards me. My father and brother see this and come to my side. "I've been informed my sister has escaped" Magnus says, nonchalantly when he approached us. "I'm not surprised, she didn't seem like she wanted to be here." Magnus goes on, not bothered by the news. " Since I was told you were her mate, and that you were the one to discover her, I felt obligated to tell you" he addresses me. Magnus couldn't get his words out fast enough, so I could just leave. I wanted to dash out the moment he said she was gone, but I know better than to be disrespectful. As soon as he finished, I just nodded. I ran to the door. My heart pumping. My mind swarming. Where could she be? Why did she just leave? Why didn't she come to find me? I could feel my brother swift at my feet while I made my way to the car garage. It was there where we found them. Two wolves broken and torn apart. Their eyes lay beside them ripped from their head. And a heart ripped from the chest of one of them still beating on the ground. My brother and I looked at each other. "You think she would have done this? " my brother asks. The scene was pure horror. I couldn't see my mate brutally murdering anything in such a way. My brother looks to me and says "We can't leave them here like this. Hell, we are lucky if a human hasn't seen this already! I'm going to call the Alpha to get someone down here." We waited only in a few moments when our Lordship and my father, our Alpha, came to our aid. The eyes of our lordship flared with anger at the sight of what was left of these men. He looked to me and I flinched from his authority that he projected. I watch pure wrath begin to consume him. When Magnus says "Don't worry" To my surprise. "I will find her myself, and you can come with me". His voice was cold and mischievous. I can see how in a way this is a thrill for him. I agreed, we will find her. We left together. Magnus wanted no one else to come. He drove silently as if he knew our destination. When suddenly a haunting feeling flooded over me. It was my mate. I could feel her fading. I could feel our bond become paper thin. My veins slowly began to fill with ice as it spread through my body. It felt like I was in the arms of death. I grab my chest where my heart has turned to ice. "I think she's dieing" I say.
