Chapter 37 ~Anora~ "Anora wake up, Anora" I hear someone say as they try to shake me awake. "She doesn't look good" another voice says. As my eyes flutter in attempt to open them. "Anora" a familiar voice says again. My eyes fly open and I'm surrounded by woman standing above me. My body is cold and stiff against a dusty cement floor. When one of them wraps their arms around me in a hug. When she pulls away I begin to recognize her, Caly. She has changed so much. She looks almost nothing like the girl I knew before. I pull her back down in a hug, so happy I have finally found her. "You left me" I say, my eyes welling with tears. Why did you leave?" Caly pulls away from our embrace, eyes jotting back and forth as she tries to decide how to answer. The rest of the girls walked away to give us some privacy. "It" she pauses "It was something I had to do" Caly finally says. I mull over her answer. Angered and confused by it. Everyone has left me. Not just Caly, everyone I have ever cared about. The weight of that feels like it is breaking me. My parents are gone. Gretchen gone. She has become just as absent in my life as Caly, and I have no one else. "Anora, what happened? How did you get here?" Caly, asks me interrupting my thoughts. "I tracked you," I finally respond, sitting up, grabbing my chest where my heart aches. "The same way, I tracked Gretchen. You should have changed your password if you didn't want me to find you" I say, my eyes trying to adjust to the light around me. Im in a large room with an open floor plan. Girls scattered about. Hanging out on various couches around the room. Some trying on clothes. Others sprawled about giggling as they chatted away. "Where are we?" I ask. Still holding my chest as it aches deeper. "It's an old loft building that I've been staying at for a while. With some of the girls I work with, but Anora " Caly says still looking at me for answers. " Do you know what happened to you? " "What do you mean?" I ask "I came to find you." "Anora, I found you." "When?" I ask, trying to remember exactly how I got here. Did I pass out last night? I wondered to myself. I must have drank too much? I see Caly carefully debating her next words in her head when she finally says "Uh... It was just last night... I umm... I found you outside looking for me.That is all" "Oh... Good. I thought you were going to tell me I did something stupid." I say, in relief. "You mean more stupid than coming to find me?" Caly laughs and then goes on to say "Anora, you know you can't stay here." all casually. "Wait! What?" I say a bit dumb founded. "Why? Why not? I can't come see you? To make sure you're OK? To visit you? " I begin asking. "Anora, I'm sorry. This is just not a place for... you" Caly says insinuating me being human. "No... No!" I stand to my feet. " I'm tired of yall leaving me. I'm tired of everyone leaving me. I should be able to come see you! And Gretchen! Why are yall pushing me away? " "I'm sorry Anora, I just... " Caly tries to find another excuse, when I cut her off. "Why? Because I'm just human. Because im not special. You and Gretchen wont make time for me anymore? " "What do you mean? Why can't you see Gretchen?" Caly asked a little concerned. "I don't know! You tell me? She and Octavia left town just like you! She won't answer my calls just like you!" I begin to take notice to the pain in my heart that is growing with my anger. "f**k" I yell and pull my collar down to see my chest. There is nothing there, but the pain feels so real. "What the hell is that doing on you? "Caly says, a bit aggressively as she pulls down my collar more. Revealing my chest. "What is what? There is nothing on me" I say, pulling away from her grip on my shirt. "That thing on your chest" she says, upset with me. "What are you talking about? " Our argument seems to have caught the attention of some of the girls in the room, when I hear Caly yell "Loralie, I need you!" One of the girls walks over to us. Her skin as dark as her eyes, and her beautiful glare on me. "Anora, show me what's on your chest" I begin to back away. I don't know why, but I feel like I'm not safe. "Caly, there is nothing on my chest" I say, as she walks towards me. She grabs my collar and rips my shirt part of the way down revealing my bare chest. I look down the pain in my heart is there, but there is nothing to be seen. "What the hell" I say, pulling the ripped part of my shirt back up. "What kind of rune is that?" Caly asks Loralie, completely ignoring how angry she has made me. "It's Alacard's possession rune. He has laid his claim on her" Loralie says, looking at me like a dog that has walked into the wrong house. "When he comes, we will have to surrender her" Loralie says. "Ok, stop it! I'll leave! You didn't have to rip my shirt and try to scare me off with what ever make believe bullshit you're talking about." I'm now beyond furious with Caly. I have never been angry with her. She has changed. "No, Anora. Your not leaving " Caly says.
