Chapter Four Before Summer could comment, a creature ran out of an alley ahead of them. She barely glanced at the man whose dark skin gleamed in the light of a campfire. Her gaze was drawn to the eight spider legs that scurried along the road, attached to the human body in a similar fashion to the way the legs of a centaur were attached. She grabbed Grayson’s arm. “Can’t we come back here in the day?” Another creature came out of the alley, running after the other one. At first Summer thought he wore a feathered cloak until she realised they were wings and a part of his body. His narrow face, although as human as the rest of his body, had a hawk like appearance and his hair seemed feathery instead of looking like strands of hair.
