Finding Love

Chapter two

I stand in the school parking lot. Waiting on my brother and sister to get to school. I’m surprising them here first. Then finally gong home to my pack. Ive been gone for about six months. I know that doesn’t sound long. To my brother,sister and I. It is though.

My name is Daemon Cruz. I am the son of Alex and Sophia Cruz. I’m also the new alpha to our pack. I actually been alpha for about two years now. I say I’m still new because I learn something new everyday. I’ve recently been on a journey. These last six months. I’ve been looking for my mate and luna.

Traveling to allied packs. Looking to see if I can find her somewhere. I’ve stood about a week in each pack. Trying to make sure I see every unmarked she wolf. No such luck at all. So i just came back home. I’m guessing I’ll find her when I’m meant too.

Although I’m twenty one now. I’m still holding out for my fated one. I have no desire to take a chosen mate. I’m really hopping my comes along soon though. I look at my watch and see that its 7:45. Where are these two fools I think to myself.

At that moment the sound of a loud engine catches my attention. I look up to see a orange and black charger. It’s driving straight towards me. I already know who the driver is. I recognize that car anywhere. It’s stops right in front of me. Leaving a tiny space between my legs and the car.

My sister is the first one out the car. Running straight towards me. She jumps on me squeezing the hell out of my neck. Kimmy if you squeeze any tighter. You’ll kill me right here.

Yeah right, you’re an almighty alpha. You wont let a little thing like me hurt you. I’m so glad your back brother. How did it go for you?

She lets go of me and my brother Dennis come to hug me. It was okay I guess. I didn’t find her just yet. I’m not giving up hope though.

That good to know brother. We’re just happy to have you back is all. Does mom and dad know your back? Asks Dennis.

Dad yes, mom no. I wanted to surprise all of you. I hear the first bell ring in the school. Letting them know its almost time. To go inside. It’s more like a warning bell. Alright guys you head on inside. Ill see you guys at the pack house. Dinner tonight okay.

Kimmy is already surrounded by her group of friends. As well as Dennis. I give them both a hug. Then head to my car. When i open my door. Thats when I smell it.

Mate! mate! Max is all over it. We start looking around everywhere. Bro what’s wrong? Are you okay? She’s here Dennis. She’s somewhere around here. Who is Daemon? My Mate! I can smell her. Max is going crazy trying to find her. Do you need my help trying to find her?

In that moment I look to the street side. Thats when I see her. Thats her! Max and i both saying in unison. He came up to the surface now that we found her. Dennis do you know her? I don’t brother. I’ve never seen her before.

She must be the new girl everyone is talking about. She’s the frosted child no one wants apparently.

I look at kimmy. I think she was scared with the look because she started taking seps back. I’m sorry Max didn’t like the part where no one likes her. They might not want her but i do! How doo you know this anyway kimmy?

Rachel was with her boyfriend Henry. Thats his froster sister. By the way he was talking. You can tell he didn’t like her. He was the one saying those things about her.

Does he go to school here too.Nah, he goes to school in his town. Only comes when he wants to f**k Rachel. I don’t know how she doesn’t see that. But she calls him her boyfriend so that’s that.

I watch her as she walks all the way inside the school. Okay guys new plan. I’m going to stay out here all day waiting for you guys. Kimmy try an see if you can talk to her. In any of you classes. She has to be in them right.

I’ll see what I can do. I don’t know what grade she’s in. What if she’s not a senior. The only chance I’ll have after that is lunch. I’ll link you if I find out anything.

They both turn to and walk away. Right now in this moment I wish I was in high school. It’s a shame that i graduated already. I could walk in of course. I am the alpha they teachers know how I am. I don’t want to scare her though. I can tell she’s my mate of course. I couldn’t tell if she was one of us. Not from this far anyway.

I walk they way she came to school. Thats where all the stores are. I go straight to the coffee sho. I order myself aa large coffee. I don’t like any flavors or anything in it. I just like my coffee. Nice and simple, milk and sugar. The girl whose at the counter hands me my coffee. I take it pay and walk out. She’s was already giving me the googly eyes. I don’t need this right now.

Besides she wouldn’t get a chance to be with me. Ive never been with anyone. Ive been waiting for my mate all my life. Now just because I’ve never been in a relationship. That doesn’t mean I’ve never done anything. Or more like let them do to me. The point is she doesn’t stand a chance.

I sit in my car with my coffee and phone in hand. I start answering to emails and invites on my phone. Now that I’m back. I have to get back to work. I don’t only run the pack. I also run our business. So not only do I have pack meetings to attend. Those also regular ones too.

After about an hour or so. My body needed to stretch. It was getting sore and numb. As I step out I hear a roaring car engine. When I turn around to see. It’s one of the packs cars. It was a big black Cadillac Escalade. I already have an idea of whose in it. When it stops in front of me.

Dylan and Tyler pop right at the car. At the same exact time. Alpha! Glad to see your back! We didn’t know until we saw emails disappearing. Why didn’t you tell us? It is nice to see you guys too. I was going to come home when they went inside. Thing is my mate is in there. I don’t know how to approach her just yet. So I’m waiting for them to come out for lunch. So that i can try to introduce myself to her.

Wow! You went all over these packs. Just to find your mate here. Thats has to be killing you. No?

Yes Dylan, I do feel upset about that. I wasted time I could be sending with her. Now why did you guys really come, and how you know I was here?

Dude you don’t go no where. Just work,pack,work,pack. You weren’t at work because Lindsey would of told me. You weren’t at the pack because we were there. We would of smelt you. This is the only other place. Tyler answers me.

Yea I came to see the twins first. You know I have to see them before I do anything. Do they know who your met is? Nah, kimmy heard she’s a foster kid. Who just started school here. That’s about it. Max and I couldn’t say the rest. It didn’t feel right to us at all.

The guys stay with me in the parking lot. All of us on the phone. Dylan and I are answering emails. While Tyler is trying to get in someone’s underpants. At least that’s what it sounds like from here.

We hear the bell ring again. It wasn’t until we heard people coming out that I looked up. I started looking around. Trying to find my my mate as soon as possible. It wasn’t until her scent caught my nose that I saw where she was at. I looked at her while she walked with her lunch.

To the other side of the school. She sat on the grass and pulled out a book. When she finally looked me at. Thats when I saw them. The most beautiful eyes. I’ve never seen eyes so beautiful as hers. Our mate is special. Max says to me. I can see that buddy. We both stare at each other.

Until she turns and goes to reading her. Book, kimmy and Dennis get to us. So did either of you had any luck? I ask them. They both shake their heads to me.

No such luck there brother. Your girl is super smart. All her classes are ap classes. She is a senior though. She’s supper fast too. All i did was blink my eyes. She already had her food and was walking out.

I stand there looking at her. She looks so peaceful. Sitting there reading her book. Eating like she doesn’t have a care in the world. Are you going to talk to her? Or you going to stay staring? I think she’s human guys. I don’t think she knows about us.

How do I go up to her. I have to take this slow if she’s going to accept me. I can’t rush these things you know. Te bell rings once more. I couldn’t believe their lunch was so quick. Everyone is going back inside again. I see my mate grab her things and leave.

Dennis and kimmy go back inside as well. Leaving Dylan, Tyler and I in the parking lot. We go back to answering emails. Tyler is a little anxious now that he knows whose his luna.

The gamma and luna always have a specials bond. He protects her with his life no matter what. He’s having mix emotions just like I am.

We wait for them to come out of school. I’m going to introduce myself to her when I know she doesn’t have to rush back to class. Until then I try to keep myself busy. I look at the time and see its almost 2. I hear the sound of a car engine. I look up to see a gray charger parked in front of the school.

I see a guy step out. I sniff the air to see if I can catch his scent. The smell I catch take me off guard. It’s nothing I’ve ever smelt before. I look at Dylan and Tyler. They have the same

As on their faces. I look at the guy again. I don’t like the look on his.

He stands there against his car. I don’t like him Daemon. Something about him is not right. There’s something off about his scent. I know Max. We have to find out more about him. See whys he’s here exactly. I go back to my phone and text Dylan and Tyler. Even though there standing right next to me.

We have to check him out. Dylan take a picture. Go back to the pack and run him against the system. See what pops out. Tyler your going to stay here. You’ll be following her home. Finding out where she lives. Making sure they treat her right. Make sure you don’t shift. We can’t afford for a human to see you.

Got it! Tyler says.

Yes alpha! Dylan says.

I go back to my emails. There a lot of business coming in from our construction. A lot of packs use us for their remodeling. So I have a lot of request. I was able to answer two emails. Before the bell rang signaling school is over. Everyone starts coming out. I start looking for my mate. Trying to catch her. Dennis comes straight to us.

Kimmy on the other hand. I don’t see her just yet. Then my mates scent hits my nose. I look at the door to see kimmy is talking to her. At the entrance. I thought the conversation was going good. Until i saw kimmys face and my mate walk away. She doesn’t even try to look at me while she’s walking. When I see where she’s walking too. I hear Max growl in my head.

Hes waiting for our mate. He’s no good and we both know it. Let’s take mate and go. You know we can’t Max. She’s in the human world. She doesn’t know about us. We would scare her. We watch our mate get in the car. She has her head down the entire time. The car drives off with my mate inside.

When i turn around to tell Tyler to go. I don’t even have too. He’s already gone. Kimmy finally reaches us. You’re going to have a hard time with that mate of yours. She told me straight up. She can’t have no friends. She seemed scared brother. You sure you’re not just seeing things. I’m sure of it brother. Something is going on with your mate.

I got in my car and turn it on. I meet you guys at the pack house. I take off without waiting for their response. The pack house isn’t far from the school. It’s at least a twenty minute ride. I’m trying to concentrate on the road. As best as i can.

I make it to the gate of the pack house. They see that is me and open it. I leave my car in halfway to the house. In the middle of the road. I get out just in the nick of time. Max is already shifting and taking control. I have to let him blow off this steam before i go in and talk to my parents.

I run deep into the woods. I run almost to the end and back to the house. Thats not an easy run. When i get back to the house i head straight to my floor. The pack house is used for the higher ranks and their families. As well as some warriors and the head omega.

I take the stair by two. Rushing to my room to wash up before i head to my office. The pack house has four floor. The first holds the kitchen,dining hall,game room and the dance hall. We only use the dance hall for special occasions. Everything else we use all the time.

The second floor holds six bedrooms. Three on the left and three to the right. The head omega Ms.Mary has a room there. With the two he had warriors. The other three rooms are not being used right now. The third floor holds the beta and gamma. Plus their families. It’s mostly just theirs sisters in the rooms. The left belongs to Dylan. While the right to Tyler. It also holds six bedrooms.

Then we have the alphas floor. On the right side there’s the three bedrooms. On the left however. It’s quite different. When I became the alpha to this pack i had it remodeled. Not only because my parents use to sleep in it. Also because i wanted it to be special for my mate. I want her to feel like home when she’s here.

On the left I had them make it to a whole apartment. Leaving space for only one extra bedroom on my side. It’s not much but it’s enough for me and my mate. Plus a pup. I have two master bedrooms. With a living area and a kitchen. Just in case we get hungry and don’t want to go down. It’s my own little home inside my home.

I love the way it is. I’m hopping my mate will love it too. I head to my room and head straight in the bathroom. My bathroom is the best thing ever. I have a his and hers sink. A jacuzzi for a tub. Plus a stand up shower. I take off my clothes and get in the shower. My shower is quite special. It has three shower head. Yes I said three. One on each of the corners. The one in the middle.

It’s really amazing. The water coming from all ways. It’s just great. I wash off and head back to my room. I throw on a pair of jeans with a white shirt. Always casual of course. I put on my sneakers and head to the office.

I mind like Dylan letting him know I’m here already. Then I link my parents to come to the office. My mother doesn’t even bother to knock. She’s throws the door open as soon as she get here. How dare you not tell me you’re here! For goddess sake I am your mother! Mom I can’t call it a surprise. If you know I’m coming.

I was trying to do something nice. I say as I walk around my desk. To give them both a hug. I squeeze my mom a littler tighter. I know she misses me. I got back to my chair and mom and dad sit on the couch I have in there. My office isn’t big. It’s on the frost floor. After the dancing hall. No one is allowed in my office. So not many people know where it’s at. Only the people who clean it.

So son what’s the meaning of this? I know you didn’t call us here just to see us. You could of came to our cabin for that. You’re right dad. I wanted to tells you guys in person that I met my mate. That’s great son! Why didn’t she come with you? My mom asks me. That’s what I wanted to tell you about.

I tell them everything that happen. From seeing her cross the street. To the strange guy and scent. To the way me and Max reacted to seeing her get in the car. It sounds like this guy is going to be a problem son. How are you going to deal with this?

I don’t know yet dad. I know I have to handle with care. She’s human after all. That doesn’t matter. She is your fated mate. The goddess chose her for you. You have to figure this out. I know mom. I didn’t say that I was giving up. It’s just not going to be as easy. I have no plans on rejecting her cause she’s human.

They both smile at me in approval. I have Dylan looking into the guy. Tyler is following behind as we speak. I’ll let you know when I have more information. They both get up and leave. Before mom walks out she lets me know dinner at her place tonight. I already knew that was going to happen.

I get back to work. Checking emails and going through all the packs stuff. Making sure everything is on point. I left Dylan and Tyler in charge while I was gone. I know they know how to runs pack. I have faith in them. I just wanted to double check.

I finished my work and looked at the time. I see it’s almost time for dinner. Before I can get out my chair my door flies open.I’m sorry alpha I couldn’t do anything. I don’t know what happened. All I know is that the Luna is hurt. I couldn’t get control of Axel. He wanted to barge in and take our Luna out of there. He’s beating her!

At that moment my heart sinks. Kimmy was right. There was something wrong. Tyler I know this is hard for you but I want you to go back. Make sure the Luna is alive. Than report back to me. He doesn’t give it a second thought. As he runs out my office and back to his Luna. I on the other hand head to my parents house. I don’t want to tell them just yet. So I keep it to myself.

My parents live in one of the cottages on the land. They moved out the pack house when i became alpha. I talk to them about nonsense. Then head back home after. I take another shower. I’m anxious and waiting on Tyler’s call. Which I still haven’t received.

When I get out the shower. I decided to call Tyler myself. Since he hasn’t called me. I let it ring all the way to voicemail. No answer. The only reasoned he wouldn’t answer my call. Is if he’s in wolf form. I start pacing in the room. Max is feeling uneasy as well.something is going on. Go check on mate.

We can’t Max. I don’t even know where’s she lives. Tyler left in such a hurry. I’m not worried about him protecting her. She’s a great warrior. I link Dylan to see if he’s found out anything. Alpha still nothing for right now. I’m working on it as we speak. Just give me a little more time. I cut off the link without saying anything else.

I lay down and try to sleep. That doesn’t work. I turn on the tv and look for something to watch. I hear a knock on the door. Come in. Tyler walks in with his head down. I shoot up from the bed. Tyler what’s going on? I called you what happened? I don’t know how it happened alpha. I failed. I failed big time. What do you mean Tyler? How did you fail?

When i go back to the house it was quiet. All the lights were off except for one at the top. I shifted and made my way towards the house. I climb up to where i saw the lights on. I saw that guy f*****g some woman. At first i thought it was the luna. But i saw her hair and realized it wasn’t. So I decided to walk around the rest of the house. On the outside of course. When i got to the front door. I saw the luna on the floor. There was blood where she was laying at. I was about to go inside to get her when the guy came downstairs. I don’t know how but he knew i was there.

He started yelling on how he has a g*n. With special bullets. Then that’s when i heard the lady. Saying how i was outside not in the house. For him to come back to bed. That didn’t stop him alpha. He came out and starting shooting the g*n. In my direction. He didn’t get me. He almost did. I had to run. He left me with no choice. I’m sorry alpha. Truly i am.

It’s not your fault Tyler. Those people are not human. We all know it from his scent. Show me where her house it. We’re going to get my luna. I link Dylan and Dennis and Ron to meet us in the front of the house. I don’t bother putting clothes. I know I’m going to shred them off. When we get downstairs. All the guys are there waiting.

Let’s go get out luna guys. We all start running and shifting. We follow Tyler he’s the only one that knows where she lives. When we get there the doors of the house is open. We stand in wolf form blending in the trees. Do you hear that alpha? Yes i do. It seems that they’re arguing.

You f*****g i***t! I told you stay here!why would you leave? You ran out holding a g*n Henry! What was I supposed to do? You were supposed to stay here! With that stupid b***h and watch her! Don’t worry darling. You know she can’t get far. Ill call Jim and peter and they will find her. She’s hurt. How about we go upstairs and i make you feel better. Remember darling I’m your mother. I always give you what you want.

The front door of the house closes. We don’t hear any yelling anymore. what to do you think is going on alpha? By the sound of it our luna got away and that’s one sick family. Everyone already out. Try to catch the scent of blood. You heard that lady. Our luna is hurt.

We all spread out around the house. Trying to get a hint of blood. It was Dennis who caught it. We followed the trail. Her blood was everywhere like if she was walking all over the place. We don’t know how long ago she left. We can just hope that she’s okay.

We’re all spread out and looking through the woods. She’s smart alpha. She didn’t go to the main road at all. Yeah that’s true. But how hurt is she. After walking for i don’t know how long. We realizes she’s going towards the school. I start running. She’s going to the school. Max and I push ourselves to go faster. Trying to get to our hurt mate.

We finally made to the school. I can smell her and her blood. We walk around the whole school looking for her. Dennis shifts so he can check the doors. See if they’re open or not. I know they aren’t when he shifts back. I walk to the spot where she sat for lunch. That’s when I catch the screen of her blood again. I follow it and the guys follow me.

I have my nose stuck to the ground. Scared to loose the scent of my mate. Bro do you realize where we’re going? I finally look up to see where we were headed. I see the patrols. We’re at our pack. She’s at the pack somewhere. I send a link to the whole pack at once. THERES A HUMAN ON THE PACK GROUNDS. I DON’T WANT ANYONE HURTING HER. SHES ALREADY HURT. IF YOU FIND HER LET ME KNOW. NO ONE IS TO APPROACH HER BUT ME. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR? Yes alpha everyone say in unison.

Everyone spreads out looking for our luna. I head toward the back area of the pack. No one really goes there. Only when they want t take a dip. The waterfall is down back that way. As I get closer Max is starting to push himself. Mates here! She’s close! He lets me know.

When we get to the clearing. Max is looking everywhere. Thats when we see her. She’s laying down by on the rock. We run to her at full speed. Max stop and shift. It’s better for her to see us n***d. Than for her to see a wolf. We shift again and I start running. When i get to her. Her eyes are barely open. Daria… can you hear me. Mates hurt and out cold. Take her. I pick her up and head straight to the pack hospital.
