Chapter six

Daemons pov

As we sit there eating our lunch. I couldn’t help but think about how Daria fits in already. She hasn’t even been here a month and yet she’s adjusting quite well. I haven’t told her about us fully just yet. I’m planning on doing so soon. I’m just trying to make sure she’s in perfect health before I do it. I don’t need her falling into another coma for days again.

Alpha! Rouges! I jumped up quickly. Now I’m stuck in a pickle. Contain them I’ll be there shortly. Are we clear? There’s no answer. Everyone be aware. Roughed are here. Follow protocol. I send out a wide link. Letting my whole pack know to be aware. When I look up to see Daria is still standing there. Looking straight ahead. I look in the direction she’s looking in. That’s when I see the rogue. How the hell are they getting on my land?

Than that’s when I notice you can even smell them. They must be getting help from someone. Or someone sent them here protected on purpose. Tyler looks like he’s about to loose all control to Rex. I know why too. It’s the gamma and luna bond. Plus the fact that we both let her get hurt already. There’s no way that’s happening again.

Tyler we can’t shift in front of her yet. She doesn’t know. We might have too alpha. They don’t look like they’re backing down. No they don’t lets save it for a last resort though. Will do alpha. We both stand guard. Making sure they know we’re ready. Daria and one of the wolves seem to be having a staring contest. No it can’t be. She just got here. They can’t be here for her.

I notice the other wolves are starting to run towards us. Tyler is already on the move before I can say anything. While he’s running he links me. Sorry alpha this is a last resort moment. He stop midway and starts to shift. All of a sudden I see Rex launching himself to the rogues. I see Daria pass out. Tiger pops up in front of me. He’s Dylan’s wolf. Go with the Luna alpha. I got this. I’ll figure it out. I pick Daria up and head straight upstairs.

Dr. Greene get to the alpha suite now. I link her. Yes alpha. Alpha we have everything under control. We managed to capture one of them. The rest are gone. Good can someone please tell me how they got in? In the first place! We found Dave and Steven knocked out at here post. It’s possible he was knocked out right after warning you. Both of them are going to be okay. They’re spending the night in the hospital.

Thank you Dylan. Double up patrol for tonight. Make sure no one gets in at all. How’s the Luna looking? She just passed out that’s all. The real deal will be when she wakes up. I’ll be here if you need me. I end the link with Dylan than link Tyler. You will be with the Luna at all times. Do you understand? Yes alpha!

I hear a knock on the door. I open it to find Dr. Greene. She’s standing there with a bag in her hand, bowing. Come in please. She saw Tyler shift and passed out. I’m sure she’s fine but can you just check her over. Of course alpha. I also wanted to speak to you about her. Her blood doesn’t show that she’s fully human. It doesn’t show what she is exactly either. It’s a bit confusing but I’m looking into it.

I figured that much. She’s doesn’t know I’m her mate. But she’s comfortable around us. Keep on looking into it. Tell no one but me when you find out. Is that clear? Yes alpha! She starts checking Daria’s vitals. As I pace back and forth.

Everything seems fine alpha. She should be waking up soon. Thank you doctor. She leaves me alone with Daria again. All I can do is wait for her to get up. It takes a while. She doesn’t wake up until two in the morning the next day. She opens her eyes and starts looking around. When her eyes finally land on me. I see her hold her breath in. Daria I say slowly. It’s okay you just passed out.

I know I passed out. I also know I saw him. He changed into a wolf Daemon. I saw it with my own two eyes! At this point she’s getting louder. I thank the goddess that these rooms are all sound proof. We don’t like hearing what goes on with other people here. Daria just calm down and let me explain please.

Explain what! That Tyler’s a wolf. What’s next? You’re a wolf too? That’s not even possible! You can’t be a wolf. Daria just breath please. I don’t want you to pass out again. I’ll explain everything. You just have to relax. She starts slowing down her breathing. Her hands both balled up into fist. Start explaining Daemon.

I tell her everything. How she’s surrounded by werewolves right now. How we were all born this way. I also tell her how other creature are real as well. She looks at me like if I’m crazy. I promise you Daria no harm will come to you. I meant it when I said I would protect. You can have a great life here if you choose to stay.

I’ll take care of you for as long as I live. I promise you this. Why? Why are you making such big promises to me? You don’t even know me. Hell I don’t even know me. Why would you risk your life for someone you don’t know?

It’s a long story. I also think it should be a story for another time. What happens to me if I don’t want to stay? Will you guys eat me? I had to laugh a little. I know we’re wolves and all. We do hunt but we don’t eat humans. That’s good to know I guess. But you didn’t answer my question. What happens?

You want me to be honest with you? Yes please. Well first I would have to reject you. Which will probably kill me. Than I’d have to get someone to wipe your memory of meeting us. You can’t leave here knowing what we are. It can be dangerous for us. We must do everything we can to protect our kind. Now there are some humans who know about us.

Those humans also have decided to stay here with their mates. So they don’t have their memories wiped or anything. They protect us like we protect them. What do you mean by reject me? Why would that kill you? You should get some sleep. We can talk about this part tomorrow. No Daemon I want to talk about it now. Why don’t you just answer me? I haven’t ran away from you yet. So just tell me.

I realized she was right. She hasn’t ran away from me at all. Maybe I should just tell her. Hopefully she takes it as well as she’s taking this. Maybe she’ll accept me afterwards.

Daria your my mate. In human terms your my soul mate. Wolves only get one mate in there lifetime. One person to love cherish hold and care for. Your that person for me. Your the person the goddess Selene created for me. You complete me. Without you I am nothing. If I were to reject you the pain and hurt I would feel. Could possibly kill me.

There’s a chance I’ll survive it because I am an alpha. Thati telvery slim chance though. I’m your mate? Yes you are. How do you know that though? How can you tell I’m your mate? Well there’s a couple of ways. One is your scent. You smell different to me than to other wolves. Another way is when we touch. The tingles? Yes love the tingles. It lets us know the bond is there.

She laid back down. Closing her eyes. I decided to get up and give her space. I just told her a whole lot. Now hopefully all she needs is time to process. Hopefully this would all go good. I stood in the living area. Afraid of going far from her. Just in case she needs me. I turn on the tv and sit on my cowhide couch I have here. It’s a tree seater with a love couch across. The tv I hung on the wall.

I turn it on leaving it low. I want to be able to hear her call me. I lay my head back just resting my eyes. I feel tired but this is not a time for sleep.

New day

By the time I open my eyes the sun is up already. My phone alarm is going off in my pocket. I try to lift my head but it’s stiff. It take me a minute to recover. I stand up and head straight to Daria’s room. I can see that she’s still asleep. I got to my room and jump in the shower. I make it quick so I can make breakfast for Daria before she wakes up.

When I get out the shower I brush my teeth. Than dry myself and throw on some shorts. With a t-shirt. I walk to the kitchen and start taking out everything i need. I make her some pancakes with bacon and sausage. With some eggs and him fries. With freshly squeezed orange juice. I finish cooking than start to clean. I fixed the table up with all the food.

I went back to Daria’s room. She was still sleeping. I honestly didn’t want to wake her. She looks so tired. I put food covers over the food. I’ll wait for her to get up to eat with her. I make coffee and open my lap top. I might as well do some work while I wait.

I do have to question the rogue as well today. Although I’m pretty sure Dylan is having his fun with him. I just want to see her before I go anywhere. I have to see her. Time goes and I sit there. Answering my emails and drinking my coffee. I stop and looked at the time. Its about to be twelve in the afternoon.

I go back to Daria’s room . She still haven’t came out. She has to be up by now. When I walked to the room. I open the door to see Daria just sitting on the bed. Holding her knees. Max whimpers at the sight of his mate. Did we break her? I hope not Max.

Love, are you okay? She looks at me with the saddest eyes I’ve ever seen. Love please talk to me. I say as I walk closer to her. She just looks at me and says nothing. Do you need the doctor? Is something wrong? Love please say something. At this point I’m on my knees in front of the bed. Trying to make eye i eye contact with her. I stand up and kiss her on the head. Leaving my face still next to her.

I leans on her head for a minute. Love I’m going to let you be. I really wish that you would say something to me. I made you breakfast if your hungry. Just come out to eat when you’re ready. I was about to move away when both of her hands grab my face. The sparks I felt were so comforting. I can tell she felt them too. Her body started to relax. She pulls my first forward and kisses me. At first I was shocked but I didn’t miss the opportunity to kiss my mate back.

I leaned into her and kiss her back. It was such a sod yet passionate make out session. We were so happy to have this moment with her. We stop when we were out of breath. I can see her chest moving up and down. She smiles at me and lets go of my face. I honestly don’t know how I deserved that. But thank you.

Are you feeling good enough to get up. She shakes her head and lays back down. I’m going to get you some breakfast. I’ll be right back ok. She says nothing but i know she heard me. I get up and walk out. Max I know she’s feeling down right now. But maybe this is a good sign. Maybe she’ll stay with us. Mate will stay i know this.

When I get to the kitchen I turn on the stove so I can reheat her food. I don’t want her to eat it cold. I take out my call and call my dad. Hey had to go to a meeting for me a two days ago. Just come contracts that needed signing. I haven’t left the pack since I brought Daria. I don’t feel comfortable going that far.

He took my mother with him too. They wanted a couple of days away. They’re going to have to cut it short. I’m going to need him to come and watch the pack for me. I’m going to need to wow Daria with everything I’ve got if I want her to stay. He’s going to need to watch over the pack. If I’m right there won’t be a rogue attack while I’m gone. Which reminds me to call the Doctor when I’m done with my dad.

Hey dad how’s it going? Going good can’t complain. Everything is handled. Why? I need you to come back to the pack. I need to take Daria away for a couple of days. Why is everything okay with her? Did she get to see the rogues? She saw more than the rogues dad. I just need to take her away. We will be there later on today. Good and thank you.

He hangs up not responding to me. Daria still hasn’t come down. I’ve already heated up her food. I pack it on the tray to take it up. Before I go up I call the doctor. I need to know if she’s found out anything new. There’s no answer.

I take the tray and go to the room. She looks at me when I come in and sits up. I place the tray in front of her. She starts taking bites out of the food. Which puts a smile on my face. Love I’ve got to handle some business for like an hour our two. I’m going to call kimmy to come and hang out with you. So you won’t be alone.

She nods her head. I go to the walk-in in closet and start looking for decent clothes to put on. As I get dress I mind link kimmy. What’s up brother? How is she doing? She’s doing okay for now. Can you do me a favor? What is it? Can you come stay with her. I have something’s I have to do. Sure thing when do you want me there? Like now would be good.

Okay I’m coming. Cut the link between us off. Than link Dylan and Tyler. Meet me in my office and two minutes. Yes alpha. I step out and see Daria is almost done with her food. She looks much better now that she’s eaten. Mate is always beautiful. You’re right there Max.

Fully dressed I walk back to Daria. Love kimmy should be here any second now. I’ll be back as soon as I can. I kiss her head not really wanting to push my luck. Than I turn and walk out. When i open the door to walk out the suite. Kimmy is standing right there already.

Hey brother I see I made it on time. That you did. We give each other a hug than I keep it going. Making my way down stairs. I see the omegas doing their daily chores. I make sure to say hello and smile at all of them. Everyone has a job here to make the pack functional. Theirs is just as important as mine.

When I get to the office I see Dylan and Tyler standing in front of my door. Waiting for me to get there. I open the door and we all walk in. I sit at my desk and the guys in the chairs. Alright guys here the deal. I’m going to take Daria away for a couple of days. Which means you guys have to pack a bag. You’re both coming with us.

Everything is already set. Mom and dad will be here today so we can leave tomorrow. We’re also taking Ron so one of you let him know. We leave early morning. I can use a nice little vacation. I’ll go pack. Tyler says as he gets up and walks out. Leaving me and Dylan alone in the office. Is there a problem? Do you need to tell me something?

Not at all. Where are we going? I haven’t decided just yet. Can you call and tell them to have the plane ready. It might be a long flight or a short one. I haven’t made up my mind just yet. You got it alpha. I’m going to the clearing. I have a training session. Than I’ll get on it. Sounds good. He walks out my office and I get to work.

After handling lol pack and non pack business. I start thinking about where to take her. I know she hasn’t been anywhere. She probably wants to go everywhere too. I made the decision to take her to New York. I make all the reservations I need to. I also call the alpha of the pack on that side. We are Allie’s of course but it’s always good to let them know. When your going to be on their territory.

By the time I’m done with everything. I was about to head out my office. When the door opens and in comes my parents. You know dad I am the alpha. A knock would of been nice. Yea I know but I figured I got a lot of making up to do. You use to do it to me. Now it’s my turn. I laugh at my dad. He’s something else. I get up and give my parents a hug. Before getting down to business with them.

All the contracts are here and signed. We have tow projects that are starting now. We also have some appointments coming up as well. Since these deals here are closed they will be starting soon as well. That sounds great dad thank you. Now explain what’s happening to my daughter in law.

I look at my mother who seems to be very quite. Which very is unusual. I tell them everything that happened yesterday. How Tyler shifted causing her to pass out. How the rogues were unscented. I don’t leave out any detail. I need him to know everything before I go. I even tell him about the stare down between Daria and the rogue.

I couldn’t take it anymore though. Her silence was killing me. Mother what’s wrong? Why are you so quite? You are never like this! She puts her head down not saying anything. Son your mother is working on something’s right now. Someone from her past popped up again. She isn’t coping so well from it. Just give her some time. He smiles at my mother and rubs her back.

Giving her some comfort. I smile at my mother than apologize. I just never saw you like this before. They both get up and leave the office. I sit there thinking about my mothers past. She came from a very special ack of wolves. They are the most powerful among us. Although most of them are in hiding now.

A lot of other wolves didn’t like that they had so much power in one pack. Others wanted that same powers for themselves. She left just before her pack got attacked. Her meeting my father is what saved her from getting killed. I couldn’t help but wonder who exactly she bumped into.

I packed up my laptop and a couple of contracts that I need to look over. I’ll be checking them out while on this vacation. I put it all in my traveling bag. Than head back upstairs to the suite. It’s almost dinner time. I know my little mate has to be hungry. When I get inside I see Daria and kimmy in the living area. They’re both under blankets watching the tv.

When they see me they both sit up. Well I guess that means it’s time for me to go. Kimmy says as she gets up. She gives Daria a kiss on the cheek. Than does the same to me and walks out. I turn to look at Daria. Whose still sitting down. Hey love, how was your day?

It was okay. It’s like kimmy knew I didn’t have a lot of energy today. So we basically just relaxed all day. I go to the couch and sit down next to her. I put my arm over her shoulder. Than kissed her forehead. I’m glad you had a good day. I sigh in relief. It felt so good to hear her voice again. I didn’t know how much I missed it. Until this moment right here.

What do you feel like eating today love? Im not really picky. So anything you want really. I’ll ask Mary to fix us up something good. I have some plans for us tomorrow. It’s a surprise but we do have to be up early. Really? A surprise for me? Yes for you love. I’m trying to give you the whole world. That’s what you deserve. Not what you were getting. She puts her head down. Looking at the red blanket in front of her.

I don’t push her on the issue. I give her another kiss than bring her closer to me. I link Mary to send up some food. When it gets upstairs we eat and cuddle. Watching more tv after. All I can think about is tomorrow. How happy my mate will be.
