RACHEL'S POV
"Today is Monday, and you girls look exhausted," Jessica said as she looked at Claire and me. We are currently eating lunch, and I feel so lazy. Ugh. I hate Mondays. It always ruins my precious weekend. "I have a suggestion," Jessica continued and bit her apple. We anticipated her answer, although I had a feeling of what it would be. "A girl's night," Jessica whispered and winked at us. "I knew it," I said and continued eating my lunch. "What? It's been a while, and you girls don't look good on Mondays. Yes, including you, Claire," Jessica answered when Claire pointed at herself. "Where do you suggest going?" Claire asked, and I looked at her in disbelief. She hung out with Andy for a day, and now she's agreeing with Jessica? Traitor.
"Seriously, Claire?" I asked while still looking at her in disbelief. "It's not like you hate parties. You drink a lot," she stated, and I huffed. "Fine. Whatever you guys want," I rolled my eyes and drank my milk. Oh, Jeremy, Kenneth, and Martin are not sitting with us because they left school for lunch. "Let's go to Jeremy's club," Jessica said, and Claire nodded. "Why there? You know how wild people are in that club," I said, and she rolled her eyes. "Because it's our friend's club, the people working there know us already, and we have a VIP room," Jessica explained and winked at us again. I sighed and just agreed to her suggestion.
I stood up to return my tray, but as I was near the counter, I bumped into someone, making me let go of the tray. Thankfully, there were no leftovers. "I'm sorry," a male voice said, and we bent down at the same time to grab my tray. As cliche as it sounds, yes, our hands touched. I looked up and recognized the guy right away. Remember that guy looking at me from Entertainment Week? It's him. Caleb. "It's fine. I got it," I said and immediately grabbed my tray. We both stood up, and I awkwardly looked around. I have never talked to him before. "Are you okay?" he asked, breaking the awkward silence between us. "Yeah. I wasn't looking where I was going, so," I said, but he cut me off. "Nah, I was looking at my phone; that was why I didn't see you," he scratched the back of his neck.
"Caleb, right?" I asked, changing the subject, and he looked surprised. Was the name wrong? "Wow. Rachel Vaughn knows my name," he said while smiling. I laughed at him and said, "What? That's not a big deal, and you have quite an image here in school," he laughed as I said the last part. He looks cute. Wait, what? "Well, I'm not as famous as your friends, but some people know me," he said, and I chuckled. "That was an awkward interaction, but I hope to see you around," I said. "I'd love that. Too bad, I have to go to my friends now," he said as he looked at his phone. He must be texting his friends. "Yeah, sure. Bye," I waved, and he waved back. Okay, what was that? Did I talk to a guy who's not one of the three?
"Caleb, huh?" Jessica teased as we were now walking to our first-afternoon class. "We just bumped into each other. No need to make a fuss," I rolled my eyes, and she copied my way of talking. "But you looked different when you were talking to him," Claire suddenly said, and for the second time, I looked at her in disbelief. I feel like crying now. Why is she on Jessica's side? "What do you mean?" I frustratingly asked. "I mean, when guys try talking to you, you snap at them or scare them away so they won't talk to you again. But with Caleb-" she explained, but I cut her off before she could even finish it. "Okay, okay. I know what you're saying, but that was nothing," I defended myself, and she chuckled. "Just imagine how the boys would react if they knew about that," Jessica said. "Why would you tell them?" I asked, already stressed out because of these two girls.
"Because they're our friends, and they deserve to know," I rolled my eyes. "And I will never hear the end of it," I mumbled while imagining what would happen if Jessica told them. "Yeah, especially from Kenneth," Jessica agreed, and we arrived in our classroom. "Ugh. I will kill you both," for the nth time, I rolled my eyes. The bell will almost ring, and unfortunately, the three boys arrived on time. "Why are you here already?" I asked Kenneth, who was sitting beside me. "Because we're not late," he sarcastically answered and rolled his eyes. The bell rang as our teacher arrived and our afternoon classes began.
== NIGHT ==
I am now in front of my mirror, taking one last look at my outfit. I'm wearing a white bodycon ruched dress that ends mid-thigh. It also has spaghetti straps, and I finished the look with black high heels. I decided to let my hair down and wear red lipstick. Okay, I also needed this night out to relieve some stress. "Honey, Jessica's here!" mom yelled from downstairs, and I sprayed some perfume to smell great. I walked down the stairs and into the front door. "I'll be back safe and sound, mom. Don't worry," I assured her and blew her a kiss. She smiled at me and also blew me a kiss. I left our house and saw Jessica's car.
"Let's go!" she yelled, and I saw Claire waving at me from the back seat. I smiled at them and went to the passenger's seat. Jessica drove past our gate and into the nightlife. "You don't know how excited I am. It feels like forever since I went out to a party!" Jessica excitedly said as she drove. "What do you mean? You always go to parties," I asked, a bit confused. She goes to parties one way or another. "I mean, we were busy, weren't we? So, obviously, I couldn't go out," she immediately explained, and I squinted my eyes at her. She seems suspicious. "Sure. Whatever you say," I said and ignored my suspicion of her. It feels off, though. Even if we were busy, she always found the time to go out and party.
"How about you, Claire? How was hanging out with your new friend, Andy?" I asked Claire, changing the subject. "Oh, it was fun. You guys were all busy, so I had to randomly call someone from my contacts, which happened to be Andy. I was thankful that she agreed to hang out with me," she explained, and I nodded. "We should all hang out with her sometime," I suggested, and they both agreed. I remembered that Jeremy's club was quite far from our house, so we had to drive for a few more minutes, and finally, we arrived at the club. Jessica parked her car, and we all left and entered the club through the back entrance. It was a special entrance for the six of us. "Where's our room?" Jessica asked one of the staff, and he told us to follow him. We went upstairs and arrived in front of a door with a 'VIP' sign. "Enjoy the night in your VIP room," the male staff said and smiled at us. We smiled back at him as we went inside the room.
"AAAHHH! GIRL'S NIGHT!" Jessica screamed and grabbed one of the bottles from the table. I put my hands over my ears as she yelled. I have to admit, I can hold my liquor pretty well, but I only drink alcohol on occasions like this. "Come on! Grab your glasses, and let's have a toast!" she exclaimed excitedly, and we did what she said. We only have some beers here since we can't go home in a very drunken state. Jessica poured some in our glasses, and we all raised it. "To our night!" Jessica yelled, and we all clinked our glasses. "Let's get wasted!" I exclaimed, and we played loud music in the room. We were laughing and dancing like crazy girls who had achieved freedom. It's better to party with just the three of us rather than be downstairs with very wild people.
Do you want to know how wild it is? We don't deserve to see what people downstairs are doing. They are making out, touching each other lustfully, and some girls are dancing in their underwear. Those adults are disgusting, and it hurts my precious eyes. "Do the guys know that we're here?" I asked as we sat down to take a break. "No, I didn't tell them. Tonight, it's only about us girls, so let's not think about those playboys," Jessica answered and drank her glass of beer. "I need to go to the restroom," I said and stood up to go to the restroom outside. I immediately walked to the comfort room because I really needed to pee, and when I did my business, I looked in the mirror to check my appearance. "I look sexy," I told myself and smiled. Sorry, I feel a bit drunk. Just a bit, okay? I will sober up later.
On my way back to our VIP room, I bumped into someone, making me fall back a bit, but thankfully, the person held my waist. My waist?! I immediately stood properly and backed away a little from the person I bumped into. "Rachel?" a familiar voice called, and I looked up to see Caleb. Great. He's here too. "Hey, Caleb! I didn't know you also go to this club. It's Jeremy's," I said while laughing like a stupid. I feel embarrassed. Why is this happening? "I'm here with my cousins, and one of them knows Jeremy since he's a regular here, and I got invited. What about you?" he explained, and I nodded in understanding. His cousin always goes here? I don't want to think about what his cousin does here. "I'm here with Jessica and Claire. Jessica suggested that we have a girl's night, so yeah. We are having fun," I explained, and he nodded. "Well, you seem drunk. Will you be okay?" he asked worriedly, and I giggled. "I'm fine. I can handle myself. I will sober up later so that I can look after the girls. Thanks for asking, though," I answered.
"Well, if you need help, you know where to find me," he said, and I nodded. Why is he being so nice to me? Please don't. We separated, and I continued my way back to the VIP room. Halfway there, I noticed that the door was open, and I could see Claire taking a nap. She must be drunk. Where is Jessica, though? I looked around to see if Jessica was nearby until I heard a harsh shout that caught everyone's attention, including me.
"WHAT THE F*CK, JEREMY?!"
Jessica?
