7: In his presence

My eyes fluttered open and I adjusted to the lights of the room, I held my throbbing head as I recall what happened

" Damn," I muttered, those f*****g rogues almost took advantage of me, I have to talk to Trent about this, the plan was for them to pick a fight with me, while we struggle, alpha Russel comes to my rescue and kill them, they were beginning to be a liability so we needed them dead and who better than the domineering Alpha to do it but they changed the plan and almost r***d me! Damnit. It's a good thing I was able to defend myself but one of them stabbed me many times in the stomach.

I touched my stomach, someone stitched me up, I have a few bruises but my wolf is doing a good job healing me fast.

I sighed and looked around the gigantic room I was in.

There was nothing much, just a big room, big bed, and tall windows and doors leading to different areas.

' someone's coming,' snarled my wolf, I almost snort, she doesn't like me very much and we don't have a strong relationship like the others have with their counterparts.

I pretended to sleep, I heard the door swing open and someone walked in, a sigh left the person's mouth, and I felt soft fingers on my cheeks, it's warm and nice.

" Wake up now," The voice that spoke was monotone, it was deep and beautiful, almost musical, I might add.

My curiosity got the best of me and slowly my eyes opened, a tall man was looking at me with so much intensity and I recognized him, Alpha Dominic Russel, I almost choked at the sight of him but I held my gaze.

My wolf snarled again and I jumped up, pretending to be scared.

" Who.. who are you?" I croaked, my voice was a rasp. The alpha got a jar of water on the bedside table next and gave me a glass of water.

His eyes still roamed on me as I drank to sate my thirst, only realizing how thirsty I was. He gestured for me to sit and I did. My eyes were on my legs and soon a tall blonde man who looked like he's in his forties came into the room,

" You're awake, Miss," he said. He wasted no time and started examining me. I wanted to bat that thing in his hand, the light was annoying my eyes.

" Impressive," he muttered to himself.

" Her healing abilities are fast," he looked back at the alpha who nodded, Alpha Dominic had his arms folded, his gaze on me was unwavering and I shuddered.

After the doctor finished, he bowed and bid me farewell, leaving me with alpha Russel, damn, the goddess made him to perfection huh, he had a jaw that could cut through anything, his hard dark eyes were mesmerizing, I and my wolf drowned in them.

And when he opened his mouth to speak, I felt myself tremble.

" Who are you? And what were you doing in my land?" He questioned and I was lost for words, all I practiced just went out of my mind. I paused, I had no words, what did Trent tell me to say? Everything was gone, when I finally opened my mouth, it was my wolf who spoke.

" Who are you?" Her voice is different, and he growled, making us flinch.

" You are in my land, and you have the guts to ask me that?" I whimpered pathetically, I knew he was an alpha but I didn't know he was this domineering, I'm a beta by rank but the command spoke volumes, his aura was making my wolf confused, torn between running or staying, my mind was going crazy! I've never been in the same place with alpha as strong him.

It's different watching from afar and on pictures, now that I'm in his presence, he was towering over me, so tall, I felt like a puppy.

" I'm Ashley Miller," I said quietly. He hummed, silently asking me to continue.

" I was just passing by because I have nowhere to go and some rogues attacked me," I lied, well, it was kind of the truth.

His face showed no sign of sympathy or empathy. I needed him to let me stay but is he made of stone? I just told him I was attacked and he showed no emotions at all.

" How are you feeling now," he finally asked. I nodded my head slightly.

" I'm a bit better now," I answered his question.

" Good, you can leave," I widen my eyes, I could leave? He turned to walk away, I needed to think of something and fast.

" Sir!" I called, slowly like in slow motion, he turned to look at me, his face is still blank.

" Please, sir, I have nowhere to go, those rogues are after me," my eyes teared and I almost clapped at how much of a good actress I was.

" Why?" His voice was raw.

" Well, their boss likes me and ... I ..he almost r***d me once so I injured him and ran," his brows twisted weirdly and I thought I saw an emotion cross his face but it was gone as soon as it came.

" Who?" he asked, I panicked but remembered to keep my heart at ease as I was taught in training, he can tell I'm lying once I miss a beat and I'll die.

" I don't know, sir, but... But he's horrible, his men tried to do the same thing before taking me to him but I couldn't let them so they hit me and stabbed me," I informed him a half-truth, at this point my body was shaking, my lips curled up, holding a sob.

Without any words, Alpha Russel turned and left the room, as soon as the door shut behind him, I threw myself on my bed, damn, that man, that man!
